Tim- supervisor was and is outstanding. He was there in the beginning and I know he will have my back no matter what! Super helpfull!

Probably the worst experience dealing with them to call back or follow up on items that need repairing. Would never buy a house from them. I moved in 3 months ago never got my repairs done from the first initial walk through. They said they where going to do a 30 follow I called them after 2 1/2 months. They came out and looked at the items from the first walk through and crickets again. Still waiting sucks when you spend 1/2 of million on a house and customer service sucks.

So many things didn’t get done before house as sold. Now we have to be home in order to get repairs done that should have happened before we moved in. Sub contractors trying to get away with mistakes and covering them up, and Richmond is not holding them accountable until after we complain about it. Then we have to take time off of work to be home so they can come back and fix it correctly. Mike treated us like we were idiots and refused to listen to us, even though time and time again we were proven correct. I haven’t met a neighbor yet that is happy with Mike or the process, and we have met about half of the new buyers. Just about every complaint was met with I don’t see anything wrong with that. I have to say I was skeptical after we were in the process and I began looking up reviews, but I can say everything went smoothly. The house was a few months later than originally estimated. Our walks were thorough and everything that was marked was fixed. And a few minor things we’ve noticed since being here a few weeks have been promptly taken care of by our rep. All the trades workers have been polite and professional. Overall; I really have not complaints. We would buy another RA home.

Everyone we worked with at Richmond was kind, informative and very responsive. They went out of their way to make sure every detail of our new home was to our liking. Tom even found minor issues that we missed and took the initiative to correct them on his own. Our new home is beautiful and even the smallest of details were designed and built to be over the top impressive. The quality of our new home is superb and the entire experience from start to close was seamless, enjoyable and informative. We would gladly purchase another home from Richmond!

They have not responded in regards to when the repairs that needed to be done will be completed.

I’ve been very happy with Richmond, American Homes. For my Karl’s Farm home, any issues we’ve had with the house are dealt with and fixed very promptly. The house is so cute and in a great area and I love it. Thank you so much!

Sales people were somewhat helpful. Did not disclose some issues specific to lot. Home office was no help. Switched superintendents during construction. Pushed for an early close prior to year end yet haven't completed all punch items so can't use part of house

A tough experience; most homeowners, including myself, have lost $10k-15k in the process due to lack of information and communication from the Sales department. The company experiences delays and doesn't take responsibility for them. The house has many minor issues; the quality is poor, and every room has some inconvenience, for which the builder is slow to address.

Our sales person, Dionne was helpful and responsive. Our designer Lisa was great and addressed our issues. Our Super, Mike, awful! Doesn’t know how to talk to customers, was rude and not helpful at all. Lots of issues between construction. Oswaldo from home warranty has been great to work with, but overall the house has a lot of issues that are being addressed and fixed. Just taking a lot of time to get completed.

No transparency throughout the process, lack of communication by the lender and loan processor. May not buy a new home again due to my experience.

Overall, it’s clear that Richmond American used the cheapest materials and cheapest workers to put up the home as quick as possible. The community roads are terrible with the asphalt having huge dips likely due to unsettled ground or the ground not being compacted correctly. I highly recommend getting a inspection from a quality person prior to closing. Our inspector found a multitude of small issues that quite frankly shouldn’t have happened in a brand new 2024 build. Richmond did correct the issues but they shouldn’t have been present the first time. Because we are military and never actually saw the house until after closing there were a few little things after moving in. We noted a few deficiencies such as our porch light hanging by the wiring or a 3” spot of paint on our hallway window. Our POC eventually did come out to repair eventually although he left the paint on the wall next to the light which shouldn’t have to be verbalized to remove. It seemed that when I called him he knew exactly what I was talking about which begs the question - why didn’t they fix it during the final walkthrough? Baseboards are also not flush throughout the house, you can see the seams in the carpet, you can see where the painter spilled and did a poor job at cleaning it up. The irrigation wiring isn’t hooked up correctly either according to our landscaper. Overall, the house does not feel like a half-million dollar house should be in terms of what you get whether itself the kitchen size and quartz/cabinets or more specifically the lack of craftsmanship as noted before. My wife’s father is a carpenter and has been building houses for the last 25+ years and after he viewed the inspection report literally told us to walk away from the home/builder due to the deficiencies. Remember, what was reported is what is seen by the naked eye - you can’t see the framing or anything covered by drywall as I’m sure there are plenty of poorly executed build points throughout the house. Something to remember - all of the homes going up in the area are being built at a rapid rate so it’s unlikely to get a new home with a quality build unless you do a custom build. Appliances - we are throughly pleased with all of the appliances minus the dishwasher. Stove/oven is fantastic. The dishwasher seems super cheap. Upon arrival we noted dozens of screws and nails in the garage, along the driveway, in the gutter. This could be an easy way to ruin a tire or blow one down the road causing a crash. I shouldn’t have to pick up cigarette butts in my yard and front rock area. The paperwork process was easy and straightforward and the only reason why we actually bought was because of the below market interest rate incentive. The only good thing about this company was the foreman. Otherwise, we were misled and deceived.

There were a few things that needed to be fixed. We called but we're not getting anywhere, but finally got someone to respond and they apologized and things went forward. They were very responsive after that . Most of our issues have now been addressed. The home itself is nice and we are happy with it.

Cheap materials all around the home unfinished floors broken cabinets , leaking faucets multiple issues these are just a few to list horrible experience during walkthru they say they will fix after closing but no remediation for the issues identified have to follow up multiple times with the rep to get something resolved sucha a pain to go thru all this for a brand new home simply would say do not buy !!

Location is perfect, the home appearance inside and outside. The strangest encounter. the Lapis my favorite color, it was very appealing. Thanks

We have been looking at Richmond’s home for over 2 years in Menifee California. In December 2023 Jen called us and had the perfect property. We bought the house Jen showed us and are very happy with our new home. Very excited for the RV garage and all my cars fit in the garage now. Thank you!

We did not go through the customizing so cannot speak to that. However, our experience throughout the purchase and after has been sad. We paid for an outside inspection, highly recommended, and had a huge report on a new home. The first site guy was terrible to work with then we got Chad. He helped move the process along but there were still a bunch of items that were never done properly before our close. Still waiting on cabinet repairs (3 months later) and it took a full on fight to use our "warranty" to fix a gas leak at the range. I would not recommend friends or family to use this builder at this time. ... More

When we did our walk through, we were told all repairs would be done on a timely manner, which has not been the case. We are going on our third month and we still have several issues, that have not been addressed. I was told by our Sales Rep and Builder to create tickets in the ticketing portal, but this has done nothing to escalate our reported issues. We have talked to our Neighbors and they are also experiencing the same issues with the Builder and Repairs. This is unacceptable in my opinion when purchasing a new home.

Poor construction job. In a hurry to sell, rushed.

I love the openness of the floor in lan I picked. The door knobs will all have to be replaced in the next couple of years because they are probably the cheapest and lowest quality on the market. The sliding glass doors are cheaply made, the front door was installed incorrectly so air and light all around the frame. The concrete is so cracked in the garage I will always have problems. The yard is going to cost a fortune to make it enjoyable because of the sod and sod layers doing such a horrific job. Never again will I buy a ‘new build’.

The Craftsmanship of the homes in Timber Crest is worse than any other builder I have ever encountered. I'd take D.R. Horton over the garbage Richmond American had produced. The President of the TN operations is a lifelong salesman with no construction or development experience and it shows. EVERY SINGLE HOME in Timber Crest has issues. Everything from concerning drainage for water runoff in the neighborhood to forgetting to install insulation in homes (yes, forgetting to install insulation!!) has resulted in nightmares for all the residents in our community. Never bought a new home and gone through an experience that we have with this house. Never got a straight answer from anyone. Then, to find so much wrong after we moved in. Still waiting to have things repaired.
