Our home was purchased at great price-value for area and craftsmanship of home builder. My wife and I were very happy with whole process and Darlene was great throughout entire time before and after closing follow up on small fixes.

After researching the area our decision was made as we walked through the quality built site we now call HOME! Cori was a delight from the beginning, her support throughout the process was top notch! The opportunity to work with the companies professionals; lenders/closing agents went smoothly and on time. Overall, we are happy with the process and quality of work. Yes, there were issues along the way, but the construction manager (Scott), sales agent (Michael), and loan officer (Chris) all went above and beyond to help get resolutions.

I had to have this home after being in it for just a couple minutes. Since it was ready to move in I asked for a short escrow and was in the home in 2 weeks after going into escrow. My sales agent and the superintendent have been great to work with. After walking through othe builders models this was by far the most impressive with the finishing touches.

The on site sales and construction team were the best! The loan team made the experience not pleasant, please improve the loan process.

My experience with Richland was so positive! On sales perspective Rachel provides all support to allow us to buy our first home in US! Since the first contact with us until get the keys, Raychel was so supportive. She also was available 7 days a week any time to clarify or help with anything that my Family may needed. On the construction side Kevin was like Rachel where he gave to us all support that we request! Every sing week Kevin and Raychel called me to explain about the construction time phase given all details about it. Scott was a pleasure to work with as his team worked to complete our home. He was responsive to our questions and attentive to our concerns. We walked into a beautiful place that we will call home for decades to come.

House really looks great and price worthy

Andrew is very quick to respond when an issue or need arises. The subcontractors have also been quick to respond and very communicative. Negatives...... All bathroom vanities don't have drawers, that is a zero on a scale of 1-10. Also the toilets are extremely low.

Pay attention to details, ask a lot of questions.

Good experience every step of the way when purchasing our new home. Raychel and Kevin were very knowledgeable and helpful during the decision process and after move-in.

The home buying experience with Richmond American Homes was positive and I was offered a great deal on the house. I was able to close on the house in one month. Raychel was particularly helpful. Issues found on the home inspection were resolved before closing. Dealing with the mortgage company (Home American Mortgage Company); however, was difficult. Thankfully the mortgage was sold right after the home purchase.

Quality was not what we were hoping for. A lot of paint issues, loose towel bars ,and recently noticed windows aren’t level

Make sure that EVERYTHING is fixed or finished BEFORE you sign the closing papers. Because after that nothing gets fixed.

I like my home, but I almost backed out over struggles with financing. The portal would allow multiple page uploads on pages that didn't need them, but would not allow on pages that needed them. I had to supply the same paperwork several times...4 times on one issue. I was living in a motel and didn't have access to a desktop or laptop. I would receive alerts that I would need to supply something "immediately" that I had already supplied or my financing was going to be delayed and I would loose my buyer's incentives. I was also working out of a different branch at my job. This was my 3rd home purchase, and it was unnecessarily stressful in comparison. I think the parties did not have good communication. ... More

The quality of the overall building is not what I expected. The finishing details did not meet my expectations.

We were the easiest buyers ever. We walked in, said we want that house, and were ready to put 20% or more down using "their" lender. Unfortunately their lender Home American Mortgage Corporation is TERRIBLE to work with. Their complete lack of communication with the builder made the rest of the process unbearable. Richmond appeared to want to sell the house as badly as we wanted to buy it, but the lender was more or less useless, and seemed completely disinterested in making the deal work. Once we moved into our new home we have had some issues that still aren't resolved. I think that Richmond needs to realize that this is the thing that could set them apart from all of the other cookie cutter builders, but they choose to just sell the house and hope that the buyer doesn't bother them. I have always build custom, and from now on I will. Builders like Richmond are really nothing more than lending companies masquerading as builders. They bought cheap money and now are looking to loan it. They build mediocre homes so they can lend the money the bought previously out at a higher rate. What they forget is that this is people's homes, not just a play thing. They need to do MUCH better at follow up after the sale. ... More

The overall process was good, using their finance company was ok, but got a great rate. The Site Supe is not up to the task of making sure all punch list items are completed before closing, or even addressed in a timely manner after closing. There is a lack of ownership of the issues that remain open but all parties with Richmond American Homes. The house is nice, it is just all the little things that should have been taken care of; paint on the carpet, ships in the walls, pink "paint fix here" marks were missed, miss matched fixtures. All easy to fix, just were not done.

The Craftsmanship of the homes in Timber Crest is worse than any other builder I have ever encountered. I'd take D.R. Horton over the garbage Richmond American had produced. The President of the TN operations is a lifelong salesman with no construction or development experience and it shows. EVERY SINGLE HOME in Timber Crest has issues. Everything from concerning drainage for water runoff in the neighborhood to forgetting to install insulation in homes (yes, forgetting to install insulation!!) has resulted in nightmares for all the residents in our community. My overall experience with Richmond American Homes was awful. The process with their preferred lender was a headache with repeating step after step of the same thing and resending the same documents once already sent. I have had issues trying to make my first payment because they do not tell you where to go to pay it and I have finally figured it out on my own but then my monthly payment is incorrect from what is on my paperwork. My house closed 7 weeks ago and I have yet to get a bathroom door which has been promised multiple times. When we closed on the house, the house was not finished but they assured us it would be with in a week or two. They finished other items that needed to be done but that took 3 weeks before it even started. The builder is nice but seems too busy. The onsite sales rep Michael was great. Nothing negative about him. Overall the experience was a nightmare and they are quick to take your money but not complete what was promised. I would not buy from RIchmond. We just recently purchased and unfortunately bought the home before the home was complete. The materials are very cheap and there was no way to change anything before it was put it. We are very disappointed with the purchase and would not buy from Richmond again. The only thing good so far is the yard and the responsiveness to issues.

To busy to finish houses and do not put in the quality into their work. When trying to get problems fixed, they are impossible to reach.

Carrie was great to work with. Tim the foreman was absolutely horrible. Several months of delays, we kept getting lied to about the how much longer. Tim knows what stage they were at but kept making it sound like not much longer. Then when we had the walkthrough Tim just kept saying "well that's the way it is". We had a massive water leak upstairs within two weeks of moving in on an issue both our inspector and us brought up to Tim. Our flooring downstairs is not level due to the subfloor. Our walls/trim were horribly painted. Grass the the front yard is very patchy and mostly dead because Richmond American didn't pay the water bill for like 5 days on a very hot week. Many of the contractors that have come out since closing have been unprofessional and work very slowly. It been a crappy buying experience and would not use Richmond American again. We have been in our home a month and not a lot of progress has been made. ... More
