Guys, there was so many little things that added up. It started with all the dead bugs embedded into the insulation in the basement. You guys fixed it but should have caught it before the buyer did. There were issues with caulking around the house. The Richmond agent did a lot to get stuff looked at before and after we moved in. The window wells in the basement were filthy and had dried cement in the window tracks. Some of the windows in the rest of the house were covered in dust. I know the house was vacant for 5 months before we purchased it but you have to keep track of how the houses are ...

Buying a house is supposed to be exciting blah blah....Well buying a Richmond Homes was the absolute worse experience I've had. If we wouldn't of been left homeless I would have walked away from this purchase. As I get settled in and what not ive noticed a lot of issues. In the RV garage, the wall outlets are not at the same height level. The sheetrock edges arent on 2x4s. The RV garage has a whole 3 outlets in the 43 foot garage. They left the plastic on the over head lights, when the garage opener was installed they took the power cord and went around the frame to plug it in, this caused ...

This is the 3rd time I've purchased a new-build home, and this is by far the best experience that I've had. The entire process, from sales to design selection to build to closing to post-close warranty issues, the employees have all been phenomenal. They've constantly strived to do the right thing by us, their customers, and give us the best experience and home possible. Melissa, our sales rep, did great. Natasha, our designer, and HUGE SHOUTOUT to Danny, our foreman, who went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything about our new home, was incredibly helpful with issues, and ...

We recently purchased and moved into a new home. Overall, we like the house. Unfortunately, many of our blue tape items were not taken care of prior to moving like we were told they would be, including items that should have been resolved prior to closing. The responsiveness of the team has been less than ideal. Several of our items (broken concrete, broken screen door- to name a few) are still unresolved. We recognize we are not the only customers. However, when you purchase a home, there are certain expectations that have not been met.

Superintendent needs to inspect each phase of construction. Not wait for homeowners to have issue or call out as warranty. Nice home design although would think when spending this kind of money that finishes and workmanship would be complete. Have to take lots of time off work for warranty issues. Consider cost of time off to be available for appointments to correct issues that the superintendent could have completed during build. I do like the home but upset with the stress it has caused do to being tm treated as buying the home is a favor

Buying a home with Richmond American was an extremely interesting experience. Initially they drew me in with a promotional 3.99 interest rate which is as good of an interest rate anyone can get in the current climate. Unfortunately, that is about the only upside to buying a house with them. Everyone associated with Richmond American knew little about how the house was set up and worked. The HVAC was zoned incorrectly from how they sold us the house, the sprinkler system misses multiple spots in the front yard, and the upgraded features were installed incorrectly. The actual process of buying ...

Poor landscaper contractor directions, low quality paint issues, no caulk around the bathroom trim. Construction Superintendent only concerned about his timelines and needs. He made commitments and failed to initiate contractors or work orders to complete them. Sales team was great to work with locally. Financial threats were made of $322.00 accumulated daily because the VA inspector would not release a positive inspection. VA required egress, stairs and landing from deck for a disabled veteran. Richmond finally put on three stairs and two papers to meet the requirements.

Purchase process and delivery of home was terrific. The purchase value is terrific because we got a terrific price and interest rate compared to the market. The quality and craftsmanship is average but all builders homes, even custom homes, are that way since they do not use top quality materials and labor. We are still very happy with our purchase!

The overall purchasing experience with Richmond homes was good. The responsiveness to the issues we’ve had was delayed or still ongoing. Some items from our final walk through were not corrected. Having a leaking sink the second week living here and water damage has taken place. It took Richmond a week to respond and resolve. Very beautiful homes. Very poor service.

There were multiple issues with this experience. Some minor and some major. While the floorplan had some great points, it also has some detractors. The master bedroom door to the bathroom opening to the same space as the shower door so they can’t be opened concurrently was a gross oversight. We will likely need to change the shower door or the door to the master bath to a barn door. Front door is only 32 inches. No person with a wheelchair could buy or live in this house without modification. The placement of the handrail on the steps to the front door removes 4 inches of usable space ...

Very poor design on the HVAC for the house.

When we first moved in some of the electrical did not work. But the main problem we have is the HVAC system, I thought that with this much square footage of living space, that Richmond would do different control for the 2 different levels of the house. But now we’re stuck with the house only heating in the second level and no so much in the main level. And even their HVAC guy that came in when I requested to inspect it said that, it’s a very poor design. Our first month bill for our gas was ridiculous as the heating kept running and running, cause the house ain’t proportionate when is ...

Better don’t go to Richmond preferred lender. It’s a life long traumatic experience. They operate with a selfish, customer don’t care approach. It’s haunting and my body became weak due to huge stress.

The house itself was delivered ok. The workmanship was less than stellar. When we did the final walkthrough we placed lots of blue tape but maybe 10% was fixed and then the clean up was terrible. When you move into a new home you shouldn’t have to clean up before moving in. We found lots of drywall dust in wall and trim throughout the home. The front door looks terrible with bubbling paint and streaks. The painters were sent back but it looks worse now. When we did the 30 day checkup she assured us that it will be taken care of. I really like the home but the little things make it hard to be ...

We love our new home and we are overall happy in it. The homes and the neighborhood is beautiful and there is plenty of space. It is also very quiet inside the home so even with construction still happening we don’t bear anything when inside. I’m giving three stars because considering how expensive things are, and how experienced Richmond is in building homes, things should be completed by closing and the warranty should be a last option. Instead, Richmond relies on making the buyer file a warranty claim rather than just having everything complete in the first place. If you do need to ...
