Would buy another Richmond American home-in fact this is our second.

I had a wonderful experience with the sales office from the beginning to the end. All of my questions and phone calls were promptly responded to. Even after I moved in, the sales office checked with me to see if I needed anything else. I would highly recommend!

Seamless process from start to finish.As first time home buyers,We had a great experience with Richmond American Homes. We had a good deal with them. We love the house features its interior and exterior design layouts. Expansive open concept from kitchen to great room with center-meet sliding patio doors. Ample huge windows that allows natural light in and many more to mention. Richmond staffs provided quality service throughout this entire process. My family just moved in to our new home. We love it. With anything built by human hands we expect some flaws. Some of our doorknobs where installed upside down. Other than that, this house has been great so far.

We couldn’t have anyone better than Noah H. As a sales person. He was extremely profesional, polite, knowledgeable with a wonderful attitude and responsiveness to every question that we had….. and we had a lot! Overall buying experience was excellent as first time home buyers. We never though it was going to be this easy.

Great experience overall. The value for the home was perfect. Material quality of the house was to be expected. After moving in door knobs and lights fell off. Paint a little sloppy after noticing being there for awhile. Overall, I would work with Richmond again.

The sales agent Terri was the best! She helped me throughout the entire process. I was out of state and she called me almost everyday to give me updates, send pictures of the home, video called me to do a virtual tour and more. Zurich, the builders superintendent was also helpful. Any questions I had he answered and even after I purchased the home, he’s still assisting me with no problem.

First time buying a brand new house, I thought I could customize which wasn’t the case. We start the house from scratch and they told us, they already ordered everything, so no changes. However, we love the house despite some requests that they were not able to adjust. We worked with Steven, the saler, he is very knowledgeable and always available whenever we needed him even now. I will recommend Richmond American Homes. Also they have a great APR that you will never found anywhere. That’s the big reason we chose them. Thank you

The Sales staff lacks professionalism, is very unresponsive to any issue or concern. Where they rate higher is their Superintendent who takes great care during the building process and after.

I was not happy with communication about the progress of my house, I did not get weekly updates, and I was not oriented properly. things that we pointed out was not fixed at closing

We have had several problems noted at walk through that have not been fixed! Hard to get anyone here to fix them without taking off days from works.

I absolutely regret purchasing this home. This is my 5th new build and hands-down, the worst quality. There are so many issues with the home and it’s like pulling teeth to get them fixed. I HATE THIS HOUSE.

Overall this has been an exhausting process. There were so many issues wrong with the house. You would think paying over $700K for a home would get you more. Materials are cheap. I will never buy another RA home, and I will not be recommending your homes to anyone looking to purchase.

A tough experience; most homeowners, including myself, have lost $10k-15k in the process due to lack of information and communication from the Sales department. The company experiences delays and doesn't take responsibility for them. The house has many minor issues; the quality is poor, and every room has some inconvenience, for which the builder is slow to address.

Good experience with sales person and design person. After construction started and during construction, things started to go south. Good materials, but poor workmanship. When I raised concerns about errors, I was being convinced that those were "industry standard." You are paying people to work and should expect them to deliver QUALITY workmanship. A recommendation will be to have a quality control person with good customer service to help!

This was perhaps the worst home buying experience I’ve ever had, and now that I’m in the home getting warranty/crafting items taken care of has been a nightmare. There simply is no communication with Richmond American Homes.

Poor service and poor quality.

If you enjoy being overpromised, undelivered, completely ignored and overall frustrated for over 6 months straight to only find yourself living in an unfinished, overpriced, cheaply built home… then you’ll LOVE Richmond American Homes. I cannot say enough terrible things about this company, and they have managed to make an experience that should be one of the most exciting and happy experiences for you and your family into a dumpster fire.

Don’t believe a word they tell you. Had many issues from sales person all the way up the management ladder. Upper management was not in anyway helpful. This builder does just what they want and don’t care about your needs.

I had an extremely disappointing experience working with Richmond Homes. While exploring a new development in Winchester, Virginia to be closer to family, we were initially drawn to Richmond Homes due to a lower discounted interest rate offered through a preferred lender and what seemed like a decent price for the home, along with a $10,000 closing incentive. Despite flying out from California to check out the property, we encountered numerous issues throughout the home, which we flagged with blue tape during our walkthrough. As we progressed towards closing, just two weeks before the scheduled date, we were informed by the lender that our home would be considered a secondary property, resulting in a significantly higher 9% interest rate due to the value of our California home and other properties we owned. Even though we had rented out our previous home and had all necessary arrangements in place, Richmond Homes refused to honor the initially promised 5% interest rate. In a scramble, we managed to secure another lender who could close on time, but this switch meant losing the closing incentive and lower interest rate. By the day before closing, we noticed that many of the issues we had flagged with blue tape remained unresolved, with over 50% of the work incomplete. To add to our frustration, the builder claimed we were outside the 30-day warranty period for addressing these issues, despite them being raised during our walkthrough. Our attempts to communicate with Richmond Homes, including the floor man, have been met with silence – phone calls and emails have gone unanswered, with no response to multiple attempts to reach out. Overall, our experience with Richmond Homes has been deeply disappointing, and we feel let down by their lack of transparency, communication, and follow-through. ... More
