We purchased a home and did the final walkthrough etc and all was taken care from the list our inspector provided. Their was one issue that wasnt…water dispenser from fridge. We were told part had arrived and scheduled the technician to repair. Technician arrived no part was given to us and tech knew nothing about it. The technicians made several trips and still hasnt been fixed as of 11/25….moved in 10/11. My wife or I have had to take time away from work and be at the house each time. Appears to be no sense of urgency or desire to get this resolved. Lesson learned….always have issuues resolved before closing. ... More

We had a new sales agent that didn’t know much. We mentioned things to him about the house and they were never shared with the builder. He quit prior to our closing only to our surprise and that was not communicated. Our new home orientation was done with someone that had never been to the house prior. So it was not that helpful. Many items from our blue tape walk through were not addressed prior to final walk through. The same person that did our orientation said he was never back at the property since that day so he didn’t even know what has done prior to final walkthrough. Some of the items were done at the final walkthrough, others were not completed at all. He failed to do many things he promised. He said to reach him directly to handle some of the repairs that rolled over but that quickly changed to file warranty claims. It had taken several weeks to get some repairs taken care of. We have lived in the home now for four weeks and still have areas needing paint based on repairs. Hard to feel settled in when you have a wall and trim in your living room that is not complete. Communication was poor throughout. The mortgage company waited until the very last minute to really look at details they needed which made us have to push back our signing. Not a great experience at all and still dealing with headaches and having to make plans around repairs and paint. Not what I expected from a new home. ... More

No liking the Warranty People ( they are so bad at their work) and material are so bad

I recently purchased a $712,000 home from Richmond American Homes, and my experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Before closing, I was promised four sets of keys, but on the closing day, I was only given two. When I raised the issue with the sales associate, Jmir, he was dismissive and unhelpful, repeatedly insisting that I received all four keys instead of addressing the mistake. Fortunately, the sales coordinator, Genya, was professional and tried to help. She arranged for the superintendent to deliver the missing keys, but instead of providing them, he insultingly handed me $5. I refused because this was never about the money—it was about the safety of my home. I purchased a $712,000 house. Do you think I care about $5 to copy a key? No, I don’t. This was a security issue, and it should have been handled with urgency and professionalism. To make things worse, the superintendent started lecturing me on how to copy a key at a store. This was not helpful or relevant—it felt like he was undermining my concerns and being disrespectful. In my opinion, he knows exactly what happened to my missing keys and is trying to cover it up. This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for customer concerns is unacceptable. While I appreciate Genya’s efforts, the overall experience with Richmond American Homes has been frustrating and disappointing. I expected better service from a company of this stature.
