Poor quality control. Builder unfortunately cannot refute this because this is in the eyes of the beholder. Compared to other builders I cannot say, but coming from an industry where QC is extremely important Shea does not measure up. That is to say, my neighbor may very well think the workmanship is wonderful. I do not. Issues that I have had to call to attention of builder reps were easily fixed but why did they have to be pointed and then easily fixed? One SHEA person assigned to quality control could do a quality walk through minimizing buyer complaints and the buyers failure to note discrepancies on their walk through. House was built pretty well. Only one issue. It takes a minute and a half to get hot water at the kitchen sink because they did not install a circ pump. Seems crazy to waste 1.5 gallons of water in Las Vegas every time we need hot water. Its on us to fix it they did nothing. For $820,000 you would expect a little better.

She was extremely helpful, always very friendly and got things done quickly.

I have not yet moved in so I can’t give a thorough review. I found Katie and Kirstie in Sales to be attentive and helpful. I found Mike and Rome equally attentive to resolving issues on punch list. After project completion, I feel value for price paid was insufficient. Processes to deal with upgrade installation have been problematic.

Nice quality home. Closing was rushed, before they could finish there things. Disappointed in the quality of carpet. Overall good service and beautiful new home.

Longer close for cash purchase than necessary

Beautiful community, beautiful homes, friendly people. Construction workers are messy. They leave trash everywhere, and it gets everywhere. Reporting it does not help, nor change anything.

Quality of work could've been a bit better. The interior paint seemed to be very cheap. Need more pickle ball courts and tennis courts as the community continues to grow

A delightful home in a delightful community. Just some issues around service items being properly attended to in a timely manner…

Kirstie kept us informed during the building process of the delays we were incurring. We have been in the house two months and expected some snags in the new house. The response to correcting these snags has been mediocre in the sense of timeliness, the initiative on the part of the builder, and the accuracy of the corrective action. For example, a 220 Volt outlet was ordered in one specific part of the house. An additional outlet was actually wired to 220 V unbeknownst to us. We ruined several appliances in the troubleshooting process not to mention a potentially hazardous situation. The staff has been helpful but I can only assume they are overloaded with work to be done/corrected. Thermostat was also somehow miswired causing it to NOT shut off the Air Conditioner. It was apparent that finishing touches were rushed to make the 30 Sept closing deadline (delayed from original 30 April closing) to include no water softener installed yet, poorly finished landscaping of the yard, missing door hardware, and some smaller items. Still awaiting several snags to be fixed, corrected, replaced, or rectified after what has seemed a reasonable amount of time. ... More

Pay attention to detail do not let them rush you through your walk-throughs because you will never get anything done it is horrible trying to buy a house and expecting it to be right and four months waiting to get it things repaired don’t let the smiles for you

The sales team is very disorganized and not very responsive. Home prep work before delivery was done at the eleventh hour. Production workmanship is subpar. Warrenty workmandhip is very good but inconvenient because of schedule and waiting for work to be completed; it should have been done correctly before home delivery. Rob Shay is outstanding as a warrenty specialist.

We found after we built an ocean-front house in Oregon in 2005, that building in a 55+ community in 2022 was a lot different. First, we were asked to make a purchase of a home that we had never seen, and that delayed us from being in on the start. Once we solved that, we did buy because we liked what the community offered: people our age all living in the same place. However, because we were moving to Las Vegas, we had to schedule a lot of things and with not being able to ascertain a move-in date, it made it that much harder for us to schedule our move-in. Once we got in, we found that not being able to select interior things, floors, carpets, appliances that we liked, e.g. we had cherry floors and cabinetry in our old home and we were not able to get them in our new home. Once we got in, we found that some of the construction work was not to the standard we were led to believe, and it has taken a lot of time out of our unpacking and setting up a new home to deal with those issues. We have been in the house now for 1 1/2 months, still not all unpacked, but we are seeing that we can make this work. The fact that this is a 55+ community, it means we have friends that are our same ages, and that is a plus. The last temporary home we had in Colorado, the community was a mix of everything you could possibly not want for neighbors and that made Trilogy a shining star for us. Even with the 110-degree temperatures this summer, we acclimated to the area without a lot of stress. I think one of the most helpful things was the support of Trilogy staff. They answered all of our questions - sometimes not with the answer we had hoped for - but they answered us and gave us explanations. For us, that was essential. I think the worst thing to happen to us is that we discovered that Sunstone is not located on 3+ acres of ocean-front and we have realized how much we miss that setting. However, we now have more new friends and more new places to explore. I think the best thing that has happened is that we have more doors open to us to do the things that we enjoy...and I would suspect as we get to know the area better, we will find more. No problem with build. Although prices are at a premium, we were disappointed in how small and crowded the lots in Sunstone felt after the build. We have a corner lot that is surrounded by an extremely ugly brown cinder block wall which is all that can be seen in the backyard. Apparently ,nothing can be placed against it to block this unfortunate view and we have tried with our backyard landscaping which still remains unapproved after numerous follow ups since we bought the house in May.

Understand all of the options and research to materials. Work closely with your construction and design experts.

Many nice people living in the community, lots of events, clubs and something to do for everyone. Shea Homes salespeople are wonderful to work with. Many things in the choices need to be improved upon when designing the home. Better attention to individual homes for completion. Move in inspection should be improved upon also.

Mike is dependable and will do his best to help, although sometimes his hands are tied. Overall experience is more corporate than I would have liked. There are not enough bodies to do the work in a timely manner.
