Shea Homes-Trilogy Reviews

Positives: My salesperson, James, designer, Debbie, and construction superintendent, Manny all contributed to a wonderful home purchase experience. Negative: Shea Mortgage reps were not great timely communicators.

If the homebuyers are going to contract their own landscape company, I would strongly advise them to submit their plans once the framing has been completed. It was a nightmare for us when we moved in trying to get our plans approved. We were not doing anything outside of lawn and a few plants. It took us four attempts to get our plans approved. It really caused a lot of anxiety when we first moved in and for the first month and a half, and we were not enjoying the experience. If it wasn't another tree or bush needed, it was too much lawn, or heighth on mounds, etc. . In measuring (literally) many existing lawns around us, ours was actually smaller in SF. Wendy kept talking about "they" want this or that, and some of her demands were trivial and very frustrating. We did read the landscape guidelines and were not planning anything out of the ordinary for this neighborhood. Aimee our salesperson has been wonderful. Final product was as presented, but could have increased value by offering several options that I had to add immediately after closing.

The number of models and construction options made choosing hard but very satisfying, We got what we wanted. The design center was very helpful in completing our house. Even with a pandemic, Shea kept us informed throughout the construction process and met every benchmark.

The home buying experience was professional, process driven, and yet flexible to accommodate my needs during this pandemic.

The quality products, workmanship, and obviously the supervision makes the Shea Homes the best in their class and price point. In addition to the home, the Club, Golf Course, two great Pools, plus a lot of "green area", makes for a great place to live.

Trilogy/Encanterra is a beautiful community filled with lovely homes and people. The staff at Shea were (and are) great to work with and the value you receive for your home buying money is outstanding. I highly recommend this place be put on your list of possibles..... once you drive through the main gate and then tour the model homes and the grounds..... well, lets just say: "resistance if futile". This place will definitely get your attention.

Great experience all around! Home is beautiful and Design center was very flexible with cabinet layout. Lots of beautiful options! Realtor and builder sent weekly pics of progress and after move in, fast to fix anything that isn’t perfect.

despite a few cosmetic issues that have or will be resolved, this has been the best home purchase I have made. I love my Shea Home.

Communication with the builder was excellent. Responsiveness was very good. Quality of construction is very good compared to other national builders, there were several workmanship issues related to rippled facia on the outside of the house that become a nuisance eyesore as well as gaps in the roof of the covered porch. The biggest issue to date, 3 months post closing are multiple power failures. I cannot recommend this particular Shea site if the local power infrastructure cannot handle the growth in the area. This must get resolved with the power company as it will force more expense for generators to protect the customers home. ... More

To date our overall experience has been very good . We love our home and the trilogy community ! The sales and customer service teams have been very responsive . The community and amenities are fantastic . We have some quality issues with our concrete that have left us disappointed and hold us back from fully recommending Shea .

Great Location and value for affordable prices

This was my fourth new build purchase and having to do it without my late husband made it bittersweet. However, the process went very smoothly and the communication was phenomenal. Every step of the way I was informed of the status and sent photos. When I visited the property as it was being built, I was always greeted with smiling staff who were very eager to help with any questions I had. The design process was very easy and straight forward. We wish there were more options as far as the backyard and fencing like another Trilogy property next door has. Also having the amenities up and running faster would also be a good thing. Overall though very happy with our new home.

Had plans for the build before I left in April and came back to a finished home with only a few problems. Very nice the way Shay explained everything on your walk-through and before closing. It’s definitely the easiest house I have ever built.

Overall, our production home was good quality even though I felt we paid a bit of a premium price for it. As the sixth home we've built, including two custom homes, the workmanship quality was only above average. There are multiple areas where walls are not true or square. Finish work was good, but had several issues they were unable to resolve. Example: base trim in one area is crooked partially because a floor tile is not set correctly. Instead of trimming around the tile, they put on the base and caulked around it. I would recommend a VERY thorough walk-thru to catch everything possible before closing. Although service follow up is attentive and helpful, not everything can be effectively corrected after the fact. Example: we don't want to tear out a wall section, plumb it, replace dry wall, mud, and paint after we've moved in. As a production builder, I would rate them 4.5 on quality and 5 on service. Price is 4.0 because we paid a premium price and didn't get a premium finish. ... More

My build experience from start to finish was flawless. The process was extremely organized and the communication was often. My project manager Brad made the difference. He was professional, responsive and made sure that when I moved in he had taken care of everything so I didn’t have to point it out. I am very happy with the quality of the build and my project manager Brad

Only issue I had was with scheduling for TV and alarm installation. Should have not had to hunt them down and then 2-3 weeks after closing for an all-day appointment. Vendor kept telling me who should have set it up. This should correspond with closing date. Can’t order internet until a week before closing. Closing confirmation is a week before closing. All this should be done internally so that buyer has everything upon move in. At the latest a couple days.

Everyone has been easy to work with and very responsive.

The sales people and all the staff that we have met have been great. Quality and timeliness of work had been excellent.

Great community, see ourselves being happy here in the long term. While the Quality and Build process wasn’t perfect a lot of that was outside of builders control.

Excellent service and we are happy with our home.
