Shea Homes-Trilogy Reviews

Overall, we are happy living here! We are enjoying the house as well as meeting so many new friends. This is the 4th home we have built and we understand the process. We asked questions in advance and accepted that this home wasn’t 100% a custom home since we needed to stay within the Shea home plan. Again, we have confidence with Sonja & Sonny and they made themselves available to talk to us when issues arise. We had issues with the design team where incorrect kitchen cabinets, doors, ceiling molding and bathroom counter were installed per our contract. We lost confidence with the design team’s lack of responsibility and this includes their manager on site who never followed up after meetings with us. The concern I had was with the disclosure or lack thereof regarding the surround sound system for the house. We had it installed by the builders subcontractor Adobe, but were never advised that they did not hook the speakers up to the owners receivers and equipment as part of the process. This should have been disclosed by Adobe and/or Shea as part of the build process.

First 30 day punch list was long but expected. Our customer service rep assigned to our house was on top of all the issues. The trades were great and responsive to the issues as well. Only wish the dust and truck traffic would be improved by requiring trucks to use the access road.

The overall experience was very good. As to quality: the windows offer much worse sound insulation compared to the replacement Windows we put into our other residence; the interior walls are paper thin; they saved a bit of money by not putting any natural light in the master bath and poorly placed the shower door to it is hard to get out. Still, while not perfect it is a lovely home and Shea is a professional machine which builds lots of homes on time.

These are nice people to work with from the sales staff to the warranty department.

Be active in your examination of the house and property, the company with follow up with problems that you find and repair them as needed.

Home completed early. Finishes are attractive, great floorplans

The first word that comes to mind when I think about the homes built by Shea is Quality. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you have walked into a home where quality really matters, from the finishings to the sturdiness of the building. The salesperson gave us a great tour of the entire community and was very knowledgeable about the area. She showed us homes that fit into our budget which, in turn, helped us find our new home. We also looked at the homes being offered by the other builders in the community but they were either out of our price range or did not feel like the same quality that the Shea Homes have. Shea also have a great customer service program after the sale. Our representative has gone out of his way to find and replace one of the tiny lightbulbs in the vent over our cooktop! All in all, our experience with Shea has been very positive. We love our new Shea home! (By the way, I never give the highest rating because that leaves nothing for you to strive for!) ... More

Shea is a quality builder. Subcontractors are "iffy". Had some major plumbing issues that were resolved. Contractors leaving garbage strewn outside construction sites that happen to be in the middle of our neighborhood. HOA dues to cover all amenities but majority of amenities are closed. ADJUSTMENT TO DUES SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED

Good quality, several options to make the house your home

After some miscommunication on the sales side, the design and production team was top notch.

Thew representative I have worked with since we moved in has been extremely responsive and excellent with following-up on various issues I couldn’t have asked for a better person to be in our court. Shea needs to do a much better job with their home warranty book they put together not all the information is in the book for registering products and it takes the home buyer several hours to get through the process as a result of this book not being complete with all the necessary information needed. There are certainly some quality issues and with the shea product and I feel they need to hire better subs to get this work done. Overall, the experience has been good. ... More

When it comes to follow up and repairs plane on losing a lot of days of work. Had to take off twice from work and daughter missed out on school activities all so I could sit around and have nobody show up to the scheduled appointments. Not living there 24/7 makes it problematic and takes planning. Doesn't matter, the contractors give no warning they just don't show up.

Laura is a rockstar! Love her! She made everything worth it! Eric did great job! Neil has also been great to work with! Stephanie...not a fan! She is horrible! We flew all the way there to work on Design and she was only willing to come in one day because she wasn't willing to come in the second day because she didn't want to put her make up on and get dressed and show up for us as we had showed up for her!! She worked with us a little bit more on the design process! I wasn't already in the middle of buying process. I would've walked out and went somewhere else because of her!

I think there prices were a little high and would have liked to have had more options available but there promise of resort style living is a great selling feature for the 55+ buyers.

Not very flexible with desired changes

The home buying experience was overall good, but felt rushed before closing due to our agent being moved to another project a few weeks before closing. We were not able to work on a few changes and we were told it was not allowed. Our agent was excellent to work with but pulled off for another project before our close. In addition, the sub contractors that need to fix problems after the 1 month walk through are not very reliable, especially with window replacements, and other documented areas of the house.

Field manager was outstanding! Plumber utilized was average at best! It is deceiving to see a model home nicely decorated and not having same or similar options when building a new house( very disappointing no alternatives were available). Very pretty house and development!

Overall the experience was a very good one. Due to the pandemic, it has been hard to get repairs done in a timely fashion but my Trilogy team has been responsive to other smaller issues. I do appreciate the coordination between Trilogy and the HOA.

Quality is good, walk-through before the move in did not address key electrical issues, such as misplacement of outlets in certain areas of the house and refusing to correct after move-in. Wrong wiring in the bedrooms (lights flickering when ceiling fan is on). Upper kitchen cabinets are very shallow. Overall we are satisfied with these exceptions.

Poor communication and follow up on repair issues at 1 month check.

The buying process with Owen was exceptional. The design center process was rushed and way too many options in models were no longer available, making decisions very frustrating. Since we were local, we were able to find issues to be corrected readily. Primarily because we kept issues on our field manager’s plate did we end up with a home with most item’s resolved. Working with Joe to fix first month problems worked great.

Shea handled the current material supply chain problems pretty well and delivered a very nice home to us. We love this area and feel safe here.

Could not add options to patio, close to closing or after. Would like to use same contractor but said no by Shea. Makes no sense. Poor customer relationship. Must select all options at time of purchase.
