This is a quality builder. Good sales person.

Nancy was very helpful. She showed us homes that met our needs. She answered any and all questions she could. If she wasn’t able to answer the phone when I called, she called back in a timely manner.

Love our home! Really do. From the base plans to the structural options, all are very well thought out. Zero quality issues. If you find fault - then it's an indication that you should have had a custom builder and the price that goes along with it. The only complaint we had was the multiple - and unclear - points of contact. We never really knew who could answer what when. Sales person basically drops off at contract signing. But then, with some options / changes, you need to go back to the sales person. Most selection are with a contract design firm. We never had a clear pricing list of the upgrades. e.g. arrived at AZ Tile to pick out our kitchen counter tops all to realize from AZ Tile there was an approved Shea list. Who knew!? Everyone seemed to have an assistant - so you'd get an email out of the blue stating 'sign this'. Why? Who are you? Full quarterly HOA fees were never fully explained - I will say in writing because I have zero record of it. Again - LOVE the end result. Just be ready to be very attentive along the way . . . and ask over and over again "what should I expect next?" "What should I do next?". ... More

Ongoing construction around me is difficult. The construction fence pushing people to walk thru my yard and smashing my plants is distressing. The loud music is annoying. Better design would include a solar tube in the dark master bath, counter garbage disposal button instead of under sink and thin grout lines (instead of 1/2inch white) in the floor. No real designer would put wide white grout in the floor.

Everything is great. Except the HOA.

I love my house but was disappointed at the rush for me to sign papers when I was away in Turkey. I notified Shea that I would be in Turkey and would sign when I return if everything was ready at that time. I was assured that was ok. I find out after I had to sign, while in Turkey at 2:30am, a few nights in a row, that upon my return my house price went down $100,000 and an incentive greater than I was given was now offered. Not pleased with that transpiring.

Shea has built us a great home, the individuals we worked with were wonderful. Buyer beware tho, will Shea sell out the community to another developer like they did ours? I wanted Trilogy and Shea, but our community was sold to Forestar and DR Horton. We did not understand what that would encompass. I love our home, just would be happier if it was still a Shea community.

It took way too long to build my house, but the times controlled this issue. The workers worked hard and were friendly when encountered. I still have a missing cabinet door in my kitchen and missing fascia in my master bath, 2 months after occupying my home. No idea when they will be corrected.

the build time exceeded over a year. this was unacceptable and caused us to lose our rate lock. our construction manager was fantastic and communicated terrifically.

Took way too long to build this house. It would sit for weeks at a time with nothing getting done. After an entire year they still changed our close date and messed up our schedule to get additional work done. I would not have purchased if I knew then what I know now. We would have never started working with Kristen if we knew then what we knew later......she made the experience uncomfortable. Also. house appraised for a fair amount less then what we paid for it,

I don’t like leaving reviews that are less than great but sometimes it just is. Lots of imperfections in the drywall can be seen once painted. The builders paints is seriously watered down which can be seen in the coverage. Whoever lays the sod does a terrible job and it is not because it shrinks, way to much space between rows which creates ruts. To fix they put down dirt filled with stones and seed which I am to water twice a day. That isn't what i paid for. They had to replace 2 toilet tanks that were cracked, and 4 doors had to be fixed because they didn't close right. The floors are beautiful and good workmanship as are the cabinets. ... More

We looked for a couple years before deciding on an Encanterra home- unfortunately our timing gave us a lottery as are only option for a home. We won our pick and were so excited except it took 7 mo longer to build than expected. Our salesman was the best and so patient with the time, questions and our needs along the way. Unfortunately, we have had many issues with our new build that need attention. Our pergola is the wrong size, our oven broke, our garage door opens randomly and the list goes on. I think there was a rush to finish a lot of the new buildings, so quality and dependability suffered. Our building coordinator has had her hands full with all of our issues- and has been great and efficient attending to our needs- but had the house been built properly, she wouldn’t have to back track on so many issues. The sales team is very disorganized and not very responsive. Home prep work before delivery was done at the eleventh hour. Production workmanship is subpar. Warrenty workmandhip is very good but inconvenient because of schedule and waiting for work to be completed; it should have been done correctly before home delivery. Rob Shay is outstanding as a warrenty specialist.

We found after we built an ocean-front house in Oregon in 2005, that building in a 55+ community in 2022 was a lot different. First, we were asked to make a purchase of a home that we had never seen, and that delayed us from being in on the start. Once we solved that, we did buy because we liked what the community offered: people our age all living in the same place. However, because we were moving to Las Vegas, we had to schedule a lot of things and with not being able to ascertain a move-in date, it made it that much harder for us to schedule our move-in. Once we got in, we found that not being able to select interior things, floors, carpets, appliances that we liked, e.g. we had cherry floors and cabinetry in our old home and we were not able to get them in our new home. Once we got in, we found that some of the construction work was not to the standard we were led to believe, and it has taken a lot of time out of our unpacking and setting up a new home to deal with those issues. We have been in the house now for 1 1/2 months, still not all unpacked, but we are seeing that we can make this work. The fact that this is a 55+ community, it means we have friends that are our same ages, and that is a plus. The last temporary home we had in Colorado, the community was a mix of everything you could possibly not want for neighbors and that made Trilogy a shining star for us. Even with the 110-degree temperatures this summer, we acclimated to the area without a lot of stress. I think one of the most helpful things was the support of Trilogy staff. They answered all of our questions - sometimes not with the answer we had hoped for - but they answered us and gave us explanations. For us, that was essential. I think the worst thing to happen to us is that we discovered that Sunstone is not located on 3+ acres of ocean-front and we have realized how much we miss that setting. However, we now have more new friends and more new places to explore. I think the best thing that has happened is that we have more doors open to us to do the things that we enjoy...and I would suspect as we get to know the area better, we will find more. No problem with build. Although prices are at a premium, we were disappointed in how small and crowded the lots in Sunstone felt after the build. We have a corner lot that is surrounded by an extremely ugly brown cinder block wall which is all that can be seen in the backyard. Apparently ,nothing can be placed against it to block this unfortunate view and we have tried with our backyard landscaping which still remains unapproved after numerous follow ups since we bought the house in May.

The house is beautiful

Seems to be higher quality than other builders.

Understand all of the options and research to materials. Work closely with your construction and design experts.

Stay on top of each phase with the length of time it takes now to build a home and the number of homes each building director has to oversee!

Builder is a bit inflexible, "this is how we build it, no changes allowed" Understandable, I suppose, but not especially customer focused. The home is advertised to be energy efficient but really only meets minimum building code standards for insulation. HVAC unit and hot water heater are not energy efficient. Builder cheapened out on several items that I would have preferred to be able to upgrade. Lighting fixtures in closet and laundry are ugly tube flourescent that are fine for the garage; Fancy iDevice switches are nice but if they are installed to control dimmable bulbs, they should have used the version that supports them. Garage door opener controller should have been provided with the motion sensor version to turn on the lights automatically when entering. No landscape fabric in the garden area, so weed popping up. Lots of small details were simply overlooked by providing the cheapest options. Cracks in the garage concrete floor they would not repair even before closing. Light switches for the flex room are not in convenient locations, neither is the switch when leaving the master bedroom hallway into the great room, hard to find them in a dark room. Maybe not a builder problem, but I wish they would have worked closer with the HOA. There was no internet when closing, in fact it was not even arranged to be hooked. We had a 13 month wait for our new home. And now we wait to have some minor repairs that we are waiting to have fixed. After the one month walk Thur we are waiting for over a month or two to have things fixed that need to be done. But the wait is worth it, we love the community. It would just be nice if Shea would fix things in a timely manner.

The build took quite awhile, shortages, labor etc. Overall my project manager kept me up to date with pictures and progress reports weekly. From design to move was about 15 months. I am very satisfied with the build. I think Shea uses quality products and good workmanship.

I am happy with my home, but knowing it is over-priced for comparable other commuities, I cannot endorse Trilogy. The pre-sheetrock walk-through revealed very poor beams were used. Beams my husband would have burnt before using them to support a house. Light switches don't make a lot of sense where they are set. Two require walking across the room to turn them off. One room has 2 switches for the same light 3 feet apart. Quality of carpet choices was disappointing. the one we chose unravels at the entry way, and shows even a piece of thread! Garage needs more outlets to charge power tools. Driveway is too narrow for 2 cars. Guest cars scrape the gutter when backing out because it is so steep. Even one less structure per block would allow more space between houses, thus more privacy. That would at least make me feel less like I'm in an expensive condo. We very much enjoy living in Wickenburg Ranch. It took considerably more time to build the house than originally planned, which created a ton of challenges. We also had turnover of our building manager several times. There is still a missing component to the new home build. We also utilized the preferred landscaper of Shea homes and have some unresolved issues as well.
