Disappointed with several finishes

Stucco not cured properly on sunny side of house. Lots of cracking in the finish. Integral dark color finish installed. Where patches have been made, the color varies and photographs issues. Color missing in some locations. Stone veneer is sloped. Drywall nail heads are visible with some heads popping through. Tape joints are exposed. Cornerbead flanges are visible. 1/2" wide tiles installed from a 12x24 tile. Instead of recutting a larger tile to fit the space, a sliver was cut to make up the incorrectly cut tile. Sales team was great. Designer was extremely ...

Well Informed of the delays during the building process

Kirstie kept us informed during the building process of the delays we were incurring. We have been in the house two months and expected some snags in the new house. The response to correcting these snags has been mediocre in the sense of timeliness, the initiative on the part of the builder, and the accuracy of the corrective action. For example, a 220 Volt outlet was ordered in one specific part of the house. An additional outlet was actually wired to 220 V unbeknownst to us. We ruined several appliances in the troubleshooting process not to mention a potentially hazardous situation. The ...

Our home is still missing items

Our home is still missing items. Other homes around us that are being completed have the items we are missing, yet we are constantly being told that we have to wait due to shortages. Do not accept your home if not 100% complete or you will be treated like a second rate human when it comes to getting the home completed as promised. We were so excited to buy our new home and especially it being a Shea Home, but have been treated like second rate humans after receiving our home. Each time we inquire about items that are supposed to be completed or replaced, we are told there are still back ...

Love the community and the house. Wish that they had done a better job in inspecting and cleaning the house before delivery. It would have been a better representation of the quality of the builder and less follow up for me and my wife.

Hard to communicate with builder ….only text messages his phone mailbox always full. I understand delays but communication important! He was better toward end of construction _ mind you a year and half! I had one month appointment and still two issues not resolved? I’ve called twice - no call back? It’s been a month - I’ll have these two issues on the 5 month appointment- a few other things are needing attention as well! I get new homes always have issues - usually simple but would be nice for at least a call back.

Issues after delivery take too long to get resolved. We have 2 broken windows that were supposedly ordered before the house was finished. Been in house now 2 months, still have broken windows. Other issues same problem. Not responsive at all.

Our brand new fridge did not work, four rooms of our home only had primer on walls and was not painted until two months after we moved in. We had to move all furniture and walk hangings again. Many other issues. Very unhappy with how all of this was taken care of.

Quality of work and the lack of customer service

We have found the Valor neighborhood in Idaho to be quite enjoyable overall. However, we have encountered some challenges with the quality of the finish work and the pre-inspection process. Upon moving in, we discovered several appliance issues that had not been addressed prior to our occupancy, despite Shea Homes' assurance of a complete home review. For the past three months, the oven has been non-functional, and the exterior paint on the house has been found to be faulty, requiring repainting, both have not been rectified. In addition to these issues, we have also observed subpar ...

The Builder was fine, but 19 months to build a 3200 Sq.Foot home is excessive.

The home is great. But but you really want to make Trilogy exceptional add more amenities. Restaurants, pools (only a 4lane 4ft deep pool), activities. A community of 1,500 homes in a small town needs to be inclusive. Without the Amenities needed you will never meet your potential. It can't be all about more homes. It has to be about Lifestyle. The clientele you deal with has many options and the ability to afford it.

Shea Homes-Trilogy responded:
We appreciate your feedback on the amenities within Wickenburg Ranch. The current layout of the club facilities and amenities is what the land owner/developer planned for the first 1,500 homes. Currently there aren’t any additional land parcels for additional amenity development within the southern portion of Wickenburg Ranch. The northern half of Wickenburg Ranch hasn’t been finalized so we can’t speak to what additional opportunities there might be there, but we will take your concerns to the developer for future discussions. The current amenities include a spacious Clubhouse with restaurants, meeting rooms, a resort pool along with a dedicated lap swim area to the side, gym, spa, tennis courts, pickleball courts, Lil’ Wick golf course with a dining option/bar, and the award winning championship level golf course Big Wick. We hope that you get to enjoy all of the wonderful amenities that are within the Ranch. On top of that, the Town of Wickenburg has many dining options along with endless areas to explore. Thank you again for choosing Wickenburg Ranch and we hope that you have many years of enjoyment on the Ranch and the surrounding areas. ...

Shea are amazing - they build a beautiful home and their staff are fantastic. However the landscape company are awful, the pool company are the worst at customer service and the ‘smart home’ and alarm company are impossible to deal with and do incredibly shoddy work.

Love our home! Really do. From the base plans to the structural options, all are very well thought out. Zero quality issues. If you find fault - then it's an indication that you should have had a custom builder and the price that goes along with it. The only complaint we had was the multiple - and unclear - points of contact. We never really knew who could answer what when. Sales person basically drops off at contract signing. But then, with some options / changes, you need to go back to the sales person. Most selection are with a contract design firm. We never had a clear pricing ...

Ongoing construction around me is difficult. The construction fence pushing people to walk thru my yard and smashing my plants is distressing. The loud music is annoying. Better design would include a solar tube in the dark master bath, counter garbage disposal button instead of under sink and thin grout lines (instead of 1/2inch white) in the floor. No real designer would put wide white grout in the floor.

Disappointing purchase process

I love my house but was disappointed at the rush for me to sign papers when I was away in Turkey. I notified Shea that I would be in Turkey and would sign when I return if everything was ready at that time. I was assured that was ok. I find out after I had to sign, while in Turkey at 2:30am, a few nights in a row, that upon my return my house price went down $100,000 and an incentive greater than I was given was now offered. Not pleased with that transpiring.
