OK with most issues concerning the Model house we bought. Having trouble with TESLA over solar panel exchange from SHEA to our own account.

The hardware for all cabinets and drawers were not an option. Cabinet and drawer pulls are necessary but not provided. Was not given option to add electrical outlets (buyer needed) while building. Costed more to cut through drywall to add later. These are simple things that Shea could have provided that would make a lot a difference to a home buyer.

Originally Shea didn't want us to close in mid-December until a much delayed garage door arrived and was installed. They finally agreed to install an alternative garage door to allow us to proceed with our closing. That was much appreciated. Our garage door finally arrived over a month later and was installed but had two damaged panels. Replacement panels arrived damaged. We are now approaching a three month wait without an acceptable door. We've asked our damaged door to be painted the proper color to allow our home to appear completed from a distance, but Shea has refused.

Shea homes have a reputation for building a well constructed home and that’s why I chose them over other developers in the area. Great club house with many classes to choose from.

Shea is a production builder and inflexible to offer any options outside its standard ones. In some cases, like placing electrical outlets, they are very flexible, but in other cases, like flooring, appliances or kitchen/bathroom cabinetry, the choices are too constraining, staying within a single quality line from the manufacturer used (Wellborn in my case) and not offering true premium products. Shea Homes have a great reputation as a builder, and this is one of the main reasons I purchased this home.

I have a very serious issue with my flooring and two times. I have been home from 8 to 12 waiting for them with no phone call and no notice that they are not showing. Not pleased at all with this kind of service.

Longer close for cash purchase than necessary

The overall buying experience with SHEA was good, and the personel were very accommodating. However the quality of materials and workmanship need much improvement. Materials are appearing to be very cheap quality, and rushed installation, leaving gaps and crooked seams of many features. Dripping sounds of hot water lines, that I'm told are normal, should not be normal.

Beautiful community, beautiful homes, friendly people. Construction workers are messy. They leave trash everywhere, and it gets everywhere. Reporting it does not help, nor change anything.

OVERALL THE PROCESS FROM SALES TO COMPLETION WAS PRETTY GOOD.

Our experience between purchasing the house and figure out the rest was intense meaning Club House Members - HOA (3 different identities) it will be nice to know at the closing. Regarding where to go to set-up Internet ?? we didn't know is "HOA" this wasn't done and we're waiting 3 weeks for internet before calling the white globe people " very nice guys"

Communication with the Shea Rep, field manager and warranty manager was very good. The Adobe systems were not transparent during the options/design decisions. For example, they didn't say that there were 3 places installed for the alarm keypad. Instead they waited until I was doing the set up after close to tell me that there was an extra charge per extra keypad. I found out through a friend it was wired for extra keypads. Dimmers on some low voltage lights under the counter but not under the bathroom toe kick. Not until I asked after closing did I get that. It is hard enough to move into a new house without having constant workmen coming and going. I opted for a light on the back of my house but that didn't include the fixture. Really? Couldhave said that. I had to buy it online and pay an electrician to install it. More prompts from the design center saying "do you want this?" Can't think of everything in those 2.5 days of design options. Two months after closing I'm still dealing with contractors. The sloppiness of the painters getting specks of paint on the tile wverywhere could have been avoided if they used a drop cloth. Now I have to mark all the spots and have them remove them. It should be a requirement "enforced" to wear booties to avoid concrete footprints on the tile. No one paid attention to the signs on the doors. Cleaning in preparation for my move in could have been better especially the glue on the tub, shower door and the windows. I was never asked where I wanted my dining room fixture so I had to pay an electrician to move and center it along with a can that was in the wrong place. I was never asked if I wanted a 20 amp in my garage. Again had to hire an electrician to put that in and pay for drywall repair on that and the light fixture positioning. Glue on the granite should have been cleaned off when installed. Being a detail person makes it hard to miss or ignore all of this. Overall I am very happy with my experience with Shea. Great showing models, good customer service great workmanship.

We had an overall good experience. Our sales person Riva was terrific at keeping us update and sending us photos along the building process as we were out of the area. The house was clean when we arrived to move in. We did run in to issues with sun contractors not showing up to make small adjustments and repairs, that has been frustrating. I will be happy when all the little stuff is done and they don’t need to come back in the house anymore

Attention to our wants/needs was outstanding. Communication during the process was outstanding. Many thanks to Frank, Michael and John.

The quality from model home to residential home is unexpectedly lower. The finish trades are not as high quality as they were in the model homes. Disappointing ! Richard has done everything possible to get the trades to complete work orders, sometimes they just don’t show up.

Poor communication-in the whole process.

I am not as happy as I thought I would be with the quality of our home.

Shea has done an admirable job navigating the current supply chain problems plaguing most industries.

Building a new home during a Pandemic has proved challenging as many materials have been a challenge to source. Many shortages which resulted in delays and possibly affected the quality of workmanship and materials resulting in some re-work. Overall, we are happy with our new home.

Shea Finance was terrible we ended up not using them and had to pull money from savings to pay cash for house. Never recommend anyone to deal with Shea on the financial side.

We got off to a rough start with Shea. We selected the Latigo model at original document signing, only to find out 4 weeks afterward that Shea did not include cabinets in the Casita nor would Shea install cabinetry in the Casita. No one ever said a word about this, not our sales rep or any of the staff in the model home. And the models had no signage indicating such. We felt that was very misleading. When I tried to reason with Melissa T. about this issue, she gave me a car purchasing analogy that I found a bit insulting considering the amount of money we were spending. When Shea started the build, the foundation was put in the wrong place and our friends noticed the placement and contacted us. Fortunately, I had the correct plot plan and was able to get it to Abbey and Shea before the concrete was poured. This delayed our build 6 weeks and there was no apology, no compensation, nothing from Shea except an "Oops". Strike 2. That was souring. Working with the designers was unusual since we had to make all the aesthetic selections on line due to the quarantine, but we were able to finish. Angela was excellent. Shea built our home with all the correct selections. We will have to see how it fares living in it. I have already noticed some sloppy craftsmanship around the window installs. Large gaps between the stucco were filled in with caulking. Definitely not fine home building there. I will address this on our 6 month walk through (or whatever the month walk through coming up).
