This is our second Shea Home build so our expectations were extremely high based on our first experience. Boy were we in for a major let down. All Shea employees that we deal with are exceptional and appear to be caring. However, the quality of workmanship pales in comparison. The number of items needing repair is ridiculous. Although our service rep is always on top of our every concern and there are many, getting the trades in and actually doing repairs has been a major challenge at times. And when they do come they will not go above or beyond what is on work order if they do anything. ...

This has not been a good experience. Have been in house over 3 months and still dealing with necessary repairs and there seems to be no sense of urgency. My main concern is that the wood floors have never looked good and this was a very expensive upgrade. They were evidently never cleaned properly and there’s always been kind of a cloudiness and still has some adhesive smears here and there. The Shea warranty dept has made several attempts to take care of them but hasn’t been successful. I contacted Shaw, the manufacturer of this flooring and they emailed me detailed instructions on how ...

Shea Homes-Trilogy - I purchased during covid, material shortages, labor shortages

  • Gina S.

I purchased during covid, material shortages, labor shortages and a building boom in Arizona. That said, Shea had a hard time getting materials and quality labor. I think Shea could have done a better job supervising their subs that were not providing quality work.

Thank you for your feedback, Gina. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience. If you are still experiencing any issues with the work in your home, please contact us at warranty@sheahomes.com and we'll work with you to get these issues resolved. trilogy

The follow up for repairs etc. is poor. The trades run Shea not the other way around. People show up unannounced and are not controlled. There is profit and there is overhead and things will not be so easy in the future as it gets back to more normal.

We had numerous problems during the build out and had to threaten to terminate the contract on 3 different occasions to get things done that should have never been in question. The standard response to any request is "no". Shea does a very poor job of supervising the subcontractors. Most of the subcontractors are good, but some are not so good and Shea's supervision isn't diligent enough to maintain good quality with the poorer subs. The best advice is to keep close tabs during the building process because mistakes will be made. I strongly advise to get issues cleaned up before signing, ...

First off, my mother passed away in January and yet this is still addressed in her name. Shea needs to check their records before they start sending out communications asking for opinions. The process to buy the home was unclear in regards to how interior design choices cost extra. During the process I felt that this was hidden and is unethical. Working with the sales team was stressful and information wasn't shared transparently as one would expect. There was definitely a delay in closing on the home due to Shea wanting to hit a number this calendar year because the house was ready by ...

We had a Shea home built in a 55+ community. It was not a good experience. The quality of the materials used and workmanship was poor. The walls are not straight, the floors creak, the options for finishes are the lowest quality possible with awful color choices, and you have no control over any of it. There was one person who was responsive to questions in a timely manner, but most were not. You are just a number. They are only in it to make money not for the customer service or overall quality of the home.

We know people that have bought in other Shea communities - Washington, southern California and Arizona. Build quality and process is night and day over Shea Trilogy Valor. The build quality has fallen short in most major categories, both interior and exterior. We were advocates of Shea Homes prior to buying into Valor. The only bright and shining stars in the home buying process are the warranty specialist and the representative of the homeowner's association! Very attentive, efficient and knowledgeable. Thank you.

Not re-typing the entire review, but suffice it to say that the experience from beginning to end was sub par at best. Several options misrepresented in sales process, poor trade quality (framing, electrical, drywall and paint, etc.), inability to meet timeline and over priced for what was delivered. Submitted very detailed feedback with examples and recommendations for improvement with no response.

This is our fifth new home and the workmanship is the worst. Multiple cabinets still need to be replaced as they are warped, cracked or split and the crown molding was not installed. Some flooring needs to be replaced, some plaster is poorly done or not done at all and until yesterday, there was blue tape everywhere to indicate poorly painted, or unpainted, areas. We are still missing two appliances, a shower curtain rod, grab bars for the showers, and a toe kick under a cabinet. The designer should be fired as there are no drawers in two bathrooms, one of which is the master bath with two ...

Will walking thru my walk thru I noticed I had no hardware on my upgraded cabinets. Day one we were kind of led on, 1 its a gas Furnace but you don't bring gas lines for a Stove/oven or even for a dryer . 2 advised there will be a food truck every friday in neighborhood. Not everyone in the Shae Company is on the same page . 1 to not know which unit is being sold first . 2 to not having the same close date One person says its all up to the buyer then saying it has to be closed by a different day. Terrible lot. Since all I saw were dirt lots when I purchased, I didn't know that the air conditioning units would be placed right outside my bedroom window! Both my neighbors and mine are there. On the other side, my neighbor's unit is right in front of my living room. Houses are squeezed together. I'm still waiting for them to put the cabinet door on. It's been sitting here for 3 months. I had to have the electrician out 3 times to correct things. Bathroom was mis-wired and the Ring doorbell has been serviced twice. Doesn't seem like sturdy construction. I though Shea was a good ...

We were delayed over and over. The house sat completely still at frame for 5 1/2 months waited for HVAC. It took ONE day to do the HVAC when they finally showed up. 21 month build time. Then closed the house with items not completed. Every neighbor we have talked to had items not completed when they closed. Not a quality home. This is our third new build and by far the worst one. We are very disappointed.
