Work with the buyer in the design built of home. I just had tile installed in my master bathroom shower floor, which I asked to have in my design and was denied. Now! You are offering tile installed in bathrooms. Paying so much for a home and ***** fees that should have been offered a long time ago. Shower pans are so cheap.

**Do Not Trust Shea Homes With Your Closing**

--- **★☆☆☆☆** **Do Not Trust Shea Homes With Your Closing** We recently purchased our home at ***** through Shea Homes, and what should have been an exciting milestone turned into a stressful, disorganized experience. First, our closing date was moved earlier without our authorization — shifting our very first mortgage payment from September up to August with no notice or discussion. That is not a small detail to spring on buyers, especially not on an elderly couple relying on a fixed budget. Second, the 4.99% mortgage rate that was advertised and used to sell us on this home turned out ...

Sub-par plumbing and sub-par support.

I have had to plunge several times. I had an flooding due to flushing flushable wipes. Shea Homes refused to fix the issue; it cost me $12K to fix. The toilets leave stains that require manual cleaning after use. Given the quality of the rest of the house, I find this plumbing implementation to be embarrassing to Shea Homes.

All was okay - I only wish I was offered what other home owners were offered when they purchased their homes like the solar panels electric system that came with their homes and was not even offered when I purchased mine. I also would have liked a real front porch like the rest of the homes. My elevation is the only on without a real front porch to enjoy.

I lost trust on Shea home purchase during the final steps of closing. The sales not transperent upfront and even the VP of sales not responding timely and even pushy on the customers and not helping much.

Our decision to purchase the house was heavily influenced by the floor plan and the quality of the finishes. During the construction process, the staff worked closely with us to answer questions and facilitate a final product that fit our needs and wants. We experienced a change in project manager, and some of the pending issues that were identified during site visits were not properly communicated. Despite these challenges, the company has taken the necessary steps to address the issues and find adequate solutions. In summary, we are very happy with the house and our decision to purchase ...

I've purchased new homes in the past, but this was my first experience with Shea Homes. I've always been familiar with Shea and their reputation for quality, so I had high expectations going in. I'm happy to say that I've been very pleased with the entire experience and everything to date.

The response by Shea Homes to the leak of the dishwasher was horrible. Additionally, the lack of detail to the overall build of the house is unacceptable.

Shea Homes responded:
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Shea Homes values customer feedback and uses it to help improve the customer experience. Our Houston warranty manager, Brian, has advised that the dishwasher issue was addressed during the building process. If you have any questions or additional concerns, please contact our warranty customer service team at warranty@sheahomes.com. Thank you again for your feedback.

The company and its representatives were available at every turn, whether it be in clarity of financial concerns, delivering on its promises quality upgrade decisions, or communicating clearly throughout the process. Our closing was smooth and easy, and the resulting move-in was not only ahead of schedule, but seamless.

*****, Multiple Concerns

My experience with my new construction home has been disappointing. I have not even been in the home for two months, yet I have already encountered several issues that have caused significant concern. At my one-month warranty walkthrough, the only issue I identified was the bathtub in the secondary bathroom. The tub did not appear to be new and appeared to have been resurfaced. That issue was reported and has been in the warranty process for approximately two months, and it is still not resolved. Since the one-month walkthrough, after actually living in the home, I have discovered ...

Open communication between builder and buyer from start to finish is key. Ensure all levels of departments are on the same page. Know what is occurring and what planned. My foreman was excellent. Knew what needed to be done, had great knowledge, experience and recommendations. A few items have been addressed and fixed. My warranty specialist is fantastic. Will see how things play during first year of warranty.

Our experience has been very good. From having Troy as our Project Manager to Laura who is our warranty representative- they both have and are doing a stellar job. Our private inspector we hired to check the home before we closed was so impressed with the workmanship of the home. Said it was one of the best ever in his 15 years of experience. We are very pleased with the workmanship and any issues we might have had Laura took care of us promptly. We love living here.

I'm very happy with my home; however, one suggestion: prior to moving in, I was given a list of the utility (gas, electric, cable etc) companies to contact, which I did. This list needs to be updated to include the ***** company. After living here a couple of months, I noticed a QR code on my solar box. I scanned it and it told me how to contact the solar company to get my service ACTIVATED. I contacted the ***** company, *****, and they said that Shea had not made my address available. I contacted my Shea rep and he told me that Shea was now working with Cooper and gave me Cooper's number. I ...

This was our first experience with an over 55 community. The process was a bit confusing at first, as we were in early and trying to make a decision and a purchase before the ***** was officially approved or models were available to see, and the contract incorporated documents that didn't exist. This has all since been straightened out. Everything regarding the construction and follow up, and really everything involving staff from Shea and its Blue Star partner have been great. We love our home and appreciate the quality of the construction very much. The ***** contractor staff have not ...
