Please make sure your project manager stays focused on all aspects during the building process, and doesn't make excuses for what she or he can't keep up with. Most alarming was hearing we weren't getting a custom home, even from the Contruction Manager. We all know these aren't custom homes, but most of us have upgraded our homes to make what we would like to have included.

Was a good experience with a big project

Aside from the challenges of completing the home during the middle of the pandemic and resulting schedule delays, overall we're satisfied with the house and how Shea is responding to punchlist and warranty requests. Quality of the house is good and nothing major so far.

We are very happy with our new home. Despite some delays in the building process (related to the global supply shortage). The home is everything we wanted it to be.

Excellent process from start to finish and excellent quality of construction

Thought Shea Homes was a good builder. Not so much on my home. Too many things wrong with it. I expected better from Shea Homes.

They kept their word at every turn in spite of all the supply chain challenges

ANYTHING to do with workmanship, or requiring individual competence in a trade was terrible. Entire electrical system had to be virtually re-done, inside and out. While being told during the process, everything was going great, I would come here and the home was a disaster, led to 4 -6 week delay. Many issues still not resolved. Our 30 day inspection fixes MIGHT be partially done by the 90 day point. Electriacl, tile/grout, paint are a constant source frustration/battle with Shea. Dishwasher didn't work for 60 days and Shea forced me to get our own repair person who threatened to walk out unless Shea agreed to pay on the spot because it was a Shea install problem. "Happens ALL the time" was the quote. Carpets dirty and stained on move in because NEVER had plastic down while work still being done AFTER carpet installed, while being told the whole time the carpet was protected. At this moment we wouldn’t recommend anyone to purchase a Shea Home, matter of fact we wouldn’t let Shea build us a dog house. My wife and I would really like to speak with someone with some authority regarding our experience. We are extremely disappointed.

We were kept informed about progress on our home by our Field Manager, who sent pictures and updates. Our Shea customer service representative explained the features of our home and how to maintain our home for the maximum enjoyment.

The quality from model home to residential home is unexpectedly lower. The finish trades are not as high quality as they were in the model homes. Disappointing ! Richard has done everything possible to get the trades to complete work orders, sometimes they just don’t show up.

The buying process with Owen was exceptional. The design center process was rushed and way too many options in models were no longer available, making decisions very frustrating. Since we were local, we were able to find issues to be corrected readily. Primarily because we kept issues on our field manager’s plate did we end up with a home with most item’s resolved. Working with Joe to fix first month problems worked great.

Love the community and the house. Wish that they had done a better job in inspecting and cleaning the house before delivery. It would have been a better representation of the quality of the builder and less follow up for me and my wife.

Could not add options to patio, close to closing or after. Would like to use same contractor but said no by Shea. Makes no sense. Poor customer relationship. Must select all options at time of purchase.

Overall the home was awesome. Some minor things to be fixed but overall responsive to fixing them in a timely manner

The material used are really poor. There are baseboard cracks that are already appearing and lot of other things.

Was absolutely the best. Shea's people were always interested in us first and became friends. The construction quality was beyond our wildest expectations. And the design and architecture help make it feel more like a home than just another house.

I believe your overall experience depends on who you get as a field manager.
