We have been a months after our close, never should have closed, to address many defects noted in the pre-close walk through. Ordered and paid for specific appliances (paid for options) that we did not get, they substituted inferior appliances and so far have refused to replace them. Trades show up and have no idea what they are repairing.

Terrible lot. Since all I saw were dirt lots when I purchased, I didn't know that the air conditioning units would be placed right outside my bedroom window! Both my neighbors and mine are there. On the other side, my neighbor's unit is right in front of my living room. Houses are squeezed together. I'm still waiting for them to put the cabinet door on. It's been sitting here for 3 months. I had to have the electrician out 3 times to correct things. Bathroom was mis-wired and the Ring doorbell has been serviced twice. Doesn't seem like sturdy construction. I though Shea was a good ...

We were delayed over and over. The house sat completely still at frame for 5 1/2 months waited for HVAC. It took ONE day to do the HVAC when they finally showed up. 21 month build time. Then closed the house with items not completed. Every neighbor we have talked to had items not completed when they closed. Not a quality home. This is our third new build and by far the worst one. We are very disappointed.

We purchased a new build Mosaic model at the beginning of the pandemic, sadly what we purchased has not come close to meeting our expectations. We rented in the community during the build process and we were able to catch many issues. Once we moved in, it’s been an on-going punch list of repairs due to poor craftsmanship. Not one cupboard or drawer works correctly, light fixtures are off center and now a broken primary condensation pipe has lead to opening up our living room wall to dry out the insulation and sheet rock. During the final inspection we found several issues that were documented but do not have any action plan to address. We had discovered the manufacturer of the main power panel had reported issues with quality of breakers that could cause a fire. We were told that would be investigated but 90 days later no update. A garage door panel was dented after installation and prior to taking possession. We were told a replacement was back ordered but not surprisingly, they are still building houses with the same garage door being used. Why can't mine be replaced before a new house gets ...

Many misrepresentations about what is included, very poor communication, many delays due to work having to be done over and over. Interior paint and trim is very sloppy and not to a professional standard for even an entry level home. Delays were not due to covid they were due to poor resource management and needless duplication of work that is still a mess.

Please make sure your project manager stays focused on all aspects during the building process, and doesn't make excuses for what she or he can't keep up with. Most alarming was hearing we weren't getting a custom home, even from the Contruction Manager. We all know these aren't custom homes, but most of us have upgraded our homes to make what we would like to have included.

Horrible customer service, I personally would buy from a different builder in the area if I could do it all over again, I honestly could not believe how awful the Shea customer service team is, including Rich the supposed supervisor.

Shea Homes purchased a superior parcel at The Phoenician and the subdivision design is spectacular! I wish I could continue with positive praise but I can’t. The lack of integrity from day 1, the poor quality of workmanship, and the ongoing lack of transparency is just the beginning. Building a home should be a happy time, but Shea Homes destroyed that dream.

Cant build a home to minimum standards no matter the price point apparently, constant lies and broken promises. Just point the finger on their sub par subcontractors (and dont take the blame for not paying to get quality people) The executives for these home builders deserve jail time honestly.

I would recommend against buying a home with Shea. The sold a vision of build quality and then continually made excuses of how the subcontractors in the area were low quality but all they had available for the build in a large city. There were multiple unfinished aspects of the build but when we asked that the complete aspects of the build prior to close they threatened to void our contract and keep our deposit if we didn't keep the planned move in date. It's great until the house becomes yours

Once the house becomes yours, consider yourself lucky if you don't have a silverfish infestation living inside your walls, or a huge amount of ponding in your backyard, or cracks in your stucco or anything else that is significantly wrong, because Shea will not help you.

Shea Homes says NO to even any minor change that you ask for, and then turn around and build it for their company people buying homes in the same neighborhood. And this is for a subdivision built by Shea's supposedly upscale "Signature" division! They even changed the color of our home from what we contracted for!

I have built four homes with three different builders. My first home was with a very low end builder and was a much better experience than this. Working with Shea Homes has been by far the worst building experience I have ever had when building a home. I have had a real estate investment company for over 15 years. We are extremely dissatisfied with our experience with Shea Homes new build. The construction is subpar. Our escrow closed with many items incomplete and a promise that their “Warranty” Dept would take care of immediately. Well it has been 2 months and items still are not complete and we STILL HAVE NOT MOVED IN.

Our home building experience was not great from the start. When we originally looked at the lot, we were given a base price which we verbally agreed upon. Then, when we went to sign our contract, the price raised $20,000. Our sales rep, Liz, never gave us a warning of a rate increase.
