Being a first time home buyer I didn’t know what to expect, there are so many steps and things needed it can be overwhelming at times. Shea Holmes and my Relator guided me through the whole process. Building the home was supper fast! Started the process in October moved in in March! Half the home (bones) was already built when we started in oct so it just needed to be customized. During the appointment to customize your home I would highly recommend writing down the names of the tiles and paint colors you pick out as I did not and was given the wrong kitchen backsplash. Since I signed off on the paperwork assuming i had trust that my choices were correct nothing had pictures of the tiles just names when I signed and I couldn’t change it once it was done now I’ll have to pay for it to be redone. Good streamline process and communication throughout the whole buying and building process

Shea makes the extra effort, whether it’s extra care in leveling walls, changing to a better AC Vendor midstream or providing upgraded door locks, thermostats and garage doors. They even bought and installed longer fan operation chains when I let them know during the walk-through that they were too short.

Solid build quality and workmanship. Quick response to issues. Super friendly reps and construction supervisors. Keep buyer informed regularly during construction phase.

Overall, it's been a terrific experience contracting with Shea for our new home in North Scottsdale. New to AZ from the East Coast, the Shea team made the process relatively simple, efficient and comprehensive, with great communication and caring teams. The Sales team of Lynda and Paula made our transition easy to understand and complete. The construction supervisors, Todd and Kory, are absolutely terrific. Their communication and attention to detail made it unnecessary to visit the house during construction, using Teams and FaceTime to view progress and make decisions. The final hand-over of the house and subsequent follow up has been well-handled and efficient. Shea did very well ! My only suggestion to Shea is to include more "upgrades" as standard or provide an allowance for items that most everyone will want and ultimately order. However, the vendors and design team of Shea was incredible to work with and made the selection process smooth and efficient. All choices were included in our home as ordered. I'm a Real Estate agent so I'm very familiar with different builder, there were a few bumps on the road with starting of the construction besides that very responsive, I'm very express by customer services after closing. I highly recommend Shea

Overall the home was awesome. Some minor things to be fixed but overall responsive to fixing them in a timely manner

Our experience with buying a Shea Home was very exciting. From viewing the model homes, going to the Design Center, and watching the construction process, our family was very excited to move into our new home!

Shea homes did an amazing job, from sales, to mortgage to customer care they knocked it out of the park. The team is absolutely amazing and if there are any issues they are on top of it. My only minor downfall is there are some areas of sloppy work done (by trades). There’s missing or streaky paint areas, work left incomplete and woth building a new home don’t expect it to be as clean as if you were buying someone else’s. There is construction dust, streaky windows an dirty window seals. But that’s all minor stuff. The overall quality and care they put into the home is phenomenal. Great experience. No issues. One question no one seems to know an answer too - what the heck is going into the common ground behind my home. Please respond - this is been going on for a month. No one knows. That’s ridiculous

The entire experience from day one to day of closing was pretty right on. All very pleasant and professional and treated me and my family with respect

Although our experience with Shea Builders has been, for the most part, very positive, there are some issues that still require attention. For example: We were promised that the exterior paint problems would be addressed prior to closing. Two months, the area outside our front door remains unpainted, although it has been scheduled on at least three different times. I don’t understand why the painter has been unresponsive. Ryan has certainly gone out of his way to get this done! Shea needs to pay more attention to the quality of work that some of the subcontractors are performing. Cabinet doors still do not work or fit properly, even though an Oak Craft person has been here to correct the problems. Interior doors don’t close properly, not because of settling or expansion, but due to hinges or plates not being installed properly. Finally, our range hood vent cover is sitting in boxes in our garage, uninstalled, because the installers didn’t know what to do when they came to install it (twice). Items being on back order is one thing. Not being able to install them when they arrive is another. Ryan has scheduled a date in September to get most of the work completed, and I commend him for his responsiveness!! ... More

Buying experience with the Sales staff was great. Post-closing not as good. I found a box of nails on my roof two months after closing. 30-day review did not go smoothly. Multiple trades for touch-up issues were scheduled without letting us know. Also, our backyard gate/fence was installed the wrong way and, 9 weeks after closing, it still has not been remedied. Multiple issues with post-closing items still remain pending.

The sales team, Marci and Eric were amazing to work with. Work around our schedules and always made us feel excited. My only knock is that many things are not complete in our home, due to back ordering, which I understand but the communication (or lack there of) has been disappointing. We have no idea of when we will have these items installed.

Overall decent for the price but 2 major issues. - The walls thickness are probably at minimum allowed by the state law, according to another Builder that I have asked. Apparently some builders are trying to save money on materials so they cut back on building homes the proper way. The sound travels easily through the Walls, I mean literally any sound. I could be in the master bedroom brushing my teeth and someone in the kitchen can hear my electric toothbrush!!I can even hear my Neighbors talking at night from inside their house. No, they’re not being loud typical conversation, cuz I can literally tell. - They claim their homes are energy efficient and windows are sealed pretty tight. Definitely neither are true. Yes they have led lights for all their light bulbs, but that’s about it. If I can smell my neighbors bbq with my windows and doors closed that’s not air tight nor energy efficient. ... More

Overall I believe Shea builds a very good home. But my opinion There were too many issues incomplete from our walk thru. the exterior painting of the house, the service garage door, our kitchen counter top stained, too many wrong color paint on patch ups, cabinets with scratches marks that are very visible, crack in bathroom sink. I expected more of the walk thru items completed.
