I really enjoyed working with Korbin, he was knowledgeable, very responsive and always on top of things. The construction was quick, but with that as usual there were some issues. Even things that were pointed out months in advance didn't get fixed before completion, and still haven't been fixed 2 months after move in even after promised within 10 days. Overall 4 out of 5!

Kudos to shea for coming up with a new, innovative, out of the box floorplan. Our single level flourish model is beautiful and we love it! Only wish that the design center had more samples of their finishes. Some of the samples did not show the variations in the material (which is normal), but not to the extent we encountered. Although it was a little misleading, we made it work, and after 90 days we're still in love!

I love the design and value of Shea homes, over all I would say they are a better than average builder. Depends on which customer service representative that being assigned, responsiveness is from bad to excellent. I had good and bad experiences with them.

Shea produced a solid home and have been responsive to issues.

There are obvious problems with doors, windows, water pipes, refrigerators, and walls, and the emergency response speed is very slow.

Over all my experience was pretty good. The home looks very nice, and most everything is in place. Some expected issues with a new construction are fine, but there are some more than I would have expected for the price paid, and some of the issues I pointed out were ignored, denied, or called normal when they should have been taken care of. Otherwise, quick to respond and set up trade calls, but it often takes a long time to get the trades to show up.

Overall, better than our last builder.

While the sale of the house and responsiveness to issues is actually very excellent. I feel the quality of work was very poor and attention to detail was extremely lacking. Having to work through all the issues and make sure they get resolved seems like it could have been avoided had the work been checked thoroughly before signing off on it. Customer care rep. Dominick has been very helpful though to make sure work will be repaired to customer satisfaction and always follows through with requests.

Overall good quality and customer facing, but slow on follow up and responses after the sale.

Shea builds a good product. We purchased a model home in Gateway Quarter and although it was priced as-is, the prep of repairing items such as holes in the wall and paint matching was not good. Promises regarding the replacement of dead landscaping were not kept.

Buying was the east part, getting things fixed has been challenging. Both due to availability and half baked solutions, appointments are rescheduled without any communication, contractors refusing to fix things and blaming the issue on another team (plumber refusing to fix water pressure and passes blame to appliance installer when the issue is the water pressure from the wall, at another appointment scheduled for two window issues and contractor refused to fix one issue saying one window would be fixed by another team from the same company only to come back with the same team at another time to fix it). Some appointments are scheduled months out, haven’t been able to use the oven since purchasing the home 2 months ago for example. Had an issue with a door frame being crooked so they adjusted the door but the frame is still crooked to the naked eye. Definitely would’ve reconsidered a new build or the builder if I had known how difficult the warranty process would be. ... More

Everyone is responsive and will answer you in a short time. But after 5 months we still are waiting for repairs to our fireplace and stucco. The bathroom shower is dripping, plants that were supposed to be replaced 4 months ago still haven’t been replaced. Bathroom hardware fell off the wall and the front yard has sunk along the gas line from the rain. It was explained to me when this happened at a Taylor Morrison neighborhood that it was because of improper packing of the soil when the gas lines were installed. We waited for our range and hood due to shipping issues, which we understood. They came in October and the hood was damaged. We still do not have a hood and have had no updates as of 1/3/22 as to how long it might be. ... More

I have purchased three houses from Shea in Recker Pointer community. Of the three houses, two have really bad issue with heating and Ac system. Multiple attempts to fix the issue did not get resolved and I was told that heating contractor is not responsible for the vent installation. I have try to reach out to Shea and no response yet. This is not acceptable since we have bought three houses brand new. Please have Shea representative to contact me and resolve the issue.

The material used are really poor. There are baseboard cracks that are already appearing and lot of other things.

Very mixed experience while building this house with Shea Homes. Sales people were good, but we had a pretty bad experience with the design studio. We had a great experience with the construction manager but have struggled post close with warranty items. The master planner of this community has also done a horrible job with community area, parks, and pools.

Great floorplans, although quality of workmanship in some areas leaves much to be desired

The location is great. I felt that Shea was underquailified to deliver this type of home. There was constant delays and the workmanship was just fair. I ahve bought many higherend homes and that were delivered much better.

The build took so long. We were one of the first to buy yet other houses were started and completed before ours. For some reason we had to pick everything up front within a week of signing and earnest. Then Shea didnt do anything for almost 3 months. Even then it was mostly foundational. We could have taken more time and not felt so rushed. The trades did an okay job but not great. I would've expected more consistency and quicker turnaroundwhen we brought things to Shea's. The attention to detail is where each of the trades lacks. Shea should have caught the things we found. I think the price I paid is not what the house is worth having seen and lived in the quality that the trades Shea uses. It's very clear the trades used for the model homes are not the same ones used for the community. Grouting, caulking, squaring of floors and walls, paint finishes, stucco, roofing. There were several miscommunications with the Shea sales. It ultimately was resolved but it was a hassle That I had to fight and argue each time, Something that no one should go through during the purchase of a new own. So stressful. The quality control is not up to the level that I would expect. There were several things that needed to be replaced and fixed upon moving in. It’s like they are just slapping these homes together so fast and the quality is lacking.

Our second Shea home purchase has proved to be a disappointment. The sales and design teams are wonderful. After that, it goes drastically down hill, at least in this build site. Maybe it’s different elsewhere. 85% of our house is wonderful and exactly what we hoped it would be. The other 15% is frustrating and disappointing and problems that should have been addressed before we moved in. And now they have to be fixed after the fact. Sloppy painting, an obviously incorrectly installed linen cabinet, incomplete and rushed installation of kitchen cabinets and associated equipment, incomplete exterior painting, broken doors, stained countertops, wrong door lock which correcting left a gap in the paint, disconnected internet ports. In short, every aspect of the home had or has something wrong with it. And at this point, we don’t trust the workers to fix it properly or Shea to follow up on that work. ... More

Need to be more responsive and follow up doing/completing what is supposed to be done

I have heard great about Shea homes, but in my case many things were missing when I get the keys and until I remind them there is something is missing, they are not ordering it. It’s really painful to find each and everything. It’s been 2 months, still there are many items are in back order and there is no ETA. Moreover the issues in the home are not yet addressed. I am really disappointed.

The quality control and attention to detail was very poor on our new home. The entire house has flaws and sloppy work through and we were very disappointed with the quality of labor that was put into the finishes. We paid extra for two tone paint and could have had a far better job done elsewhere, paint is sloppy and not even through the entire house and now we are stuck with a subpar job that we paid thousands for and extremely unhappy with the paint and baseboards. They really let us down with all of the finish work and is not what we would have expected when spending this type of money on a new build. We are also very concerned and upset that are lot has no full dirt and is solid rock. We are unable to plant any live trees, bushes, grass, or plants because there is no dirt and just solid rock that is exposed in the backyard. I am having to spend tens of thousands of dollars to hire excavation teams to come in and jackhammer the back yard to level it to have any landscape done and to finish the yard which is beyond frustrating and not ok. Alison with quality control has been out several times now and great but we are really hoping that Shea homes steps in and makes this right. We are very disappointed with the build and the lot. ... Personally want to thank Shea for our new home. It's our first. The experience has been very rocky at times, but overall I am happy to be in our home. Shea Mortgage was probably the best experience of all. However when it came to the building experience, the Design Center would be the worst. Followed by sales. Because there was a lack of accountability, we as new home builders rarely felt like we were given all of the information and/or could have been directed better. When something came up (and it did several times) we were told it was too late or we should have known better. I never try to blame others, it's not my thing but for the builders to blame the home buyers was a first. Now with the overall move in. So far we are getting things fixed in our first year but again, there seems to be a theme with Shea when it comes to clean, honest communication. ... More
