Everyone has been great. Alex, Tracy, Barbara have been extremely responsive, informative and took care of any questions or issues. The Trades that cames out for the 1-month warranty work were great. Don't know what else they could do. Very happy with the house so far.

We have been very disappointed on the quality of workmanship on a home from Shea that has been so highly regarded. We have been in our home for almost 5 months and they are still trying to take care of our 1 month warranty work. When a homeowner points out poor quality of work, it should be taken care of, not argued about.

Since it was our first time buying a new home, we had a lot of trepidation and questions. From day one, Libby, Helen, and Kelly greeted us warmly and sincerely. Throughout the whole process, Kelly guided us professionally and answered all our concerns. SHE IS WONDERFUL! Through the actual building of our house, Darren and Tracy were EXCELLENT! They tended to every detail and were top-notch in seeing that our house was built well. We would definitely recommend Shea Homes! Everyone was attentive to our requests and positively responded with good results.

The experience up to the closing was great, but once you sign your name on the dotted line, good luck getting anything done. The warranty department is like pulling your own teeth, they have a lot of excuses for any problems you bring up, after you move in you’ll start finding issues with the poor workmanship.

Sales team was very friendly and knowledgeable. They made the purchasing process fairly easy. Our issues started toward the end of the construction process: inconsistent quality control, pipes that were hanging 12 inches lower than they should have been in the basement, and a water heater that needed to be moved 3 different times. It was difficult to get concerns addressed throughout construction and during the final walkthroughs. We kept being told “well, it was built to our standards.” If that’s truly the case, Shea Homes needs to re-examine its standards. The goal was clearly to build our home as quickly as possible without much attention to detail. What we liked the most is the aera, super quiet and all very quiet, the mountains, the view is relaxing, perfect for us who like tranquility, neighbors very friendly and quiet, the green area to walk super, the Lake that is very relaxing, they have club house with pool and recreation area for families reunite, and the beautiful house, the style will open and spacious many windows that enters perfect light everything, a lot rooms they are perfect for The only thing was the price a little high, but the area is worth it and it is possible because everything has risen but if we also pay more for the updates that we added. All in all, we've a had a pleasant experience building with Shea. Our construction manager Wes was great and took care of the majority of the issues on our final walkthrough. This left only a few things for warranty repair and Barb has been responsive to our needs. All the trades are friendly, professional, and respectful. I would build with Shea again if we had the opportunity in the future.

The Shea Homes employees who helped us through the process were all outstanding, I can't say enough good things about them. Ramona, Donna & LeAnn in Sales, Ryan & Brandon in Construction, Julie and Marci in Design, Athea and Jessica in Warranty & Char in Mortgage. The build quality is beyond expectation, our home is beautiful, the neighborhood is exceptional - we have nothing but rave reviews about Shea Homes.

Thus far we are mostly enjoying our new home. However, the punch list and warranty process is terrible. They push you to close on your home but it is only 90% complete. There are many small details that are not complete and the fine details are of poor quality. Floor creaks, paint issues, exterior issues, door issues etc. They try to get things taken care of but just can't seem to get them resolved. They need to at least double if not triple the number of people they have for their construction punch list and warranty issues. We were only allowed in our home on Sunday's to inspect as the work was going on. They need to allow homeowners to visit daily if they wish to point out and correct issues before it is too late. ... Shea has a reputation for high quality homes, but our experience was different. Their vendors did a poor job on quality control across the board from cabinets to painting to cleanliness. They have been good about getting things fixed and repaired, but the experience has been disappointing.

This is the second home we build and the Shea experience was much better than the previous one. Quality and customer service were exceptional.

This is my second Shea home. My last home was built by another local builder and the quality was just not there. I chose to return to a Shea home because they pay attention to every detail during the building process, the interior design selections process and all the way to final closing. Everyone employed at Shea Homes are professional, experienced and welcoming. My home buying experience has been terrific!

Pros 1.The Hyde floor plan in Luxe at Canyons is great and the main reason we bought the house. Cons in order of priority 1. Final Walkthrough and Handover : We are pretty disappointed with this process. Firstly the house lacked a professional deep cleaning and there was still a lot of dust and dirt from construction. Second about 90% issues we found in final walkthrough were not fixed before closing and these were not handed over to the warranty rep. We pretty much had to do this all over again with warranty rep at 1st month and many of these are still not fixed. Finally I am left chasing individual contractors (through Shea) to schedule, inspect their work and ensure I get all the issues fixed. We expected much more from the handover rep and warranty rep. 2. Quality of Materials and Work: We are extremely disappointed in the quality of work and appliances for the price we paid for the house. Within our first month we had a roof leak and the vent stopped working the first time we used it. The quality of hardwood floors seems sub-par even though we picked the upgraded Elite package. It has a lot of dents and wear off from just a month of normal use. Also very disappointing to learn these are not covered by first year warranty. The list of medium/smaller issues goes on as we discover something new everyday day. Additionally the appliances are not covered by Shea and I was left to call the manufacturer multiple times to get a part shipped, tech come out etc when the appliance stopped working. 3. Design Choices and Value for Money: The design packages are not very buyer friendly and the way these are combined did not make a lot of sense e.g floor and counters are part of the same package. Offering a design plan that is more customizable where we can pick and choose different packages for each room will help customers since most other builders offer that. Also disappointed that Shea is the only builder in Canyons that doesn’t landscape front yard for buyers. 4. Specific to Luxe : Luxe is supposedly the higher end of Shea collection in Canyons. But the lots in Luxe are sub-par to other lower end collections such as Gallery. Also some friends who are in Gallery and other Shea collections seem to have better experiences with warrant etc. We would expect the opposite where Luxe has superior service since our house and lot premiums are much higher. ... We signed our contract when the house was being framed so we didn’t not get to make any selections or changes. The construction team was very responsive and stayed on schedule. The end product is beautiful and so far we have had very few warranty issues. We love our new he and the neighborhood!

Compared to other new builds. The quality for price is outstanding. We haven't encountered many issues with the house, and the few we have were corrected quickly by Shea's warranty department.

Great incentives were the key!

From the very first interaction at the sales office, to our first builder meeting, to the walk throughs and into our first month with the warranty team it has exceeded expectations. All functions work together vs feeling like we’ve been handed off and all genuinely seem to care about us, our family, our home and the build process.

The sales staff, building foreman, and design center were all excellent to work with. I believe you get a good value for your money at this price point. There are two unresolved issues with the house that are unresolved and so far they have not fixed them under warranty. I’ve been told they will not cover these issues and have dug their heals in. I hope is we can come to an agreement on these two issues.
