The sales team at Shea worked diligently and patiently with us as we tried to sell our home during COVID. Post the sales process, I could not be more pleased with the follow up, maintenance and willingness to fix the minor issues we have encountered. Overall, our Shea experience and home have met or exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend to future buyers.

We signed our contract when the house was being framed so we didn’t not get to make any selections or changes. The construction team was very responsive and stayed on schedule. The end product is beautiful and so far we have had very few warranty issues. We love our new he and the neighborhood!

Just don’t have any timeline expectations for anything from the build, landscaping, appliances, and you won’t be disappointed.

Everything in the process went smoothly Shea personnel are very responsive.

Overall our experience with Shea was great. The responsiveness of the sales team was a little lacking at times, and they struggled to get timely updates from the construction team and convey that information to us. The close out superintendents were outstanding and very responsive and professional. Our experience at the design center was also outstanding. We were a bit frustrated by certain things being options rather than standard at this price point (i.e. drywalling the garages), and the option pricing for the walk out basement was very misleading in that there is a lot premium for a walkout lot, but then another $48K option that is essentially mandatory for the walkout foundation. The foundation adder really should be rolled into the lot premium to be more transparent about the real cost of a walkout. ... More

We have an incredible home. When building a home you're always going to run into small issues. The sales team committed to a few things that didn't end up happening. And the initial site plan was WAY off and without pouring $50k into our backyard it is completely useless. Our house should have been a garden level or walk out. Instead we got a huge retaining wall and two very dangerous "to code" drop offs from our back patio. Also, the survey listed this community as Parker... Our address is Lone Tree and the developer messed our address up on multiple occasions which creates a laundry list of issues. We had a good experience

The majority of the experience has been awesome. Many of the personnel with whom we have interacted have been outstanding. Mac, Dave, Erin, Mitch, and Suzanne. - Top notch- - Many small items create big headache. Overall great experience, but Shea drops the ball on several aspects which reflect a lack of vision and consideration for residents - 2 HOA organizations to pay every month - system is subpar and cannot handle bandwidth. Must login to the same system using two different account numbers to pay HOA dues. No auto-pay options. Never heard of this. Why 2 logins? I live in 1 neighborhood. If Shea has subcontracted out services, it is Shea's responsibility to then divide up the money and pay what is due to whoever. NOT the resident. - the fence is put on the homeowners, This creates an extremely awkward situation with new relationships with neighbors. residents with dogs have to suffer through movein and the period before a fence can be installed. We must reach out to get the email for neighbors to try and coordinate the plan and payment. My neighbor has elected to not pay me for the fence I coordinated, scheduled for install, and handled in full, This is Shea's responsibility and they have fallen WAY short by throwing this on new homeowners. Do you sell a house with a driveway. I paid >$600,000 for a new home... you can't install a fence??? ignorance! - The majority of homeowners have a truck. Driveways are not long enough for a fullsize truck to park, A mid size truck barely fits, forcing parking on the street. I paid for a decent sized yard and Shea leaves everyone's setback the same. If I purchased a larger yard, my front AND back yard should be larger. I didn't purchase a large yard so the front of my house sits directly on the sidewalk. Balance out the front/back yards for those who paid for more space. Maybe we wanted a longer driveway so we could park in our own property. This is an EXTREMELY ignorant design for an experienced community builder like Shea, who restricts street parking. I'm sure complaints will start before long about vehicles parked on the street, but Shea has caused the issue and there is no solution. Mini driveways do not facilitate vehicle ownership in the USA in 2022. This might make sense in Europe where they restrict vehicle size, but here it provides benefit for Shea to sell more properties and make more money while creating headaches for their unsuspecting new residents. - concrete is problematic. basement, garage, and driveway are already cracked in the field and in the joints after less than 12 months in service. Shea warranty on concrete is insufficient. Concrete will continue to crack and grow larger until after Shea warranty expires, becoming the problem of the homeowner after Shea walks away. Poor quality and workmanship in concrete - many of the screens were bent when forced into the frame, and others were left partially installed because they could not be bent enough and the installer walked away ... Compared to other new builds. The quality for price is outstanding. We haven't encountered many issues with the house, and the few we have were corrected quickly by Shea's warranty department.

For us it was a no brained to go with a new build and we are so happy that it ended up being Shea.

Great product- solid design features.

Had good experience with sales staff. Construction is really good quality. Stuck to timelines and kept me informed. Everyone was available for questions and answered them timely.

Overall was good experience. Sales team was responsive and helpful. Wish they had more options on some things like insulation between floors to reduce noise, option for high end appliances like Wolf, laminate on stairs to garage, frosted windows, and more. Had few minor issues when moving in, but most were addressed quickly. One thing was a pain and that was an issue with the front door lock. Shea said I had to work with vendor to get a replacement lock which was time consuming. I would have expected them to resolve it with the vendor.

Overall my experience was very good. The teams were responsive during the build process. After move-in, I sometimes feel that my warranty rep and I are not communicating the best, but I still have the 5 and 11 month visits to make sure everything gets worked out.

Jaime was very healthy in sales office and Brooke was outstanding seeing things that needed corrected at the one month repair period.

I appreciated the professionalism of the staff throughout our home buying process. I felt comfortable discussing issues that arise and confident that they would be resolved. I did not like that we had to had to do our walkthrough and close on our purchase before everything was completed. There are many issues we found after we’ve moved in that we now have to address through the warranty department. It’s frustrating having to book appointments and take time off work to handle these issues. Additionally, there were minor changes we wished Shea had offered like adding or moving outlets or putting in a regular bathroom door that are difficult and expensive to make after construction. Considering how much this house cost, this makes the value for the price paid significantly lower. ... More

Shea has been very responsive to issues. The quality of the home is very good.

When going over the options the sales team encouraged you to shop around for the best options for your needs and lifestyle. They didn’t try to encourage you to just buy what they offered.

Overall the home is solid. Sales office was professional and responsive to questions during the purchase and prior to closing. However, the inability to make simple electrical or plumbing change to the interior "cookie cutter" electrical and plumbing design was frustrating! Very surprised at some of the pre-determined choices. It's the "details". Why puts a shingle roofs on an a $700k home in hail country? (We Understand costs...) Why put decor electrical switches throughout the home, but "old style" (round) plugs? They don't match. Upgraded to a tankless water heater, but "recirculation" plumbing upgrade was not offered as an upgrade to accompany to tankless heater. Very poor "stewardship" of completed trades' work by follow-on tradesmen. (Examples available). Lots of patching and fixing prior to move-in. For example, the upgraded stair railing looks Great, now; but the patches required to fix all the dents and scratches can be felt as one runs their hand along the railing. Excellent, excellent warranty follow-up by Shea's representative. "Above and beyond!" Again, overall a "solid" home which we hope to enjoy for many years to come. Shea does a really great job with their new builds. We were surprised how close they stuck to the original schedule despite all of the shortages and supply chain issues. After moving in there were a few issues that have taken a long time to resolve. Our water heater was supposed to have a recirculation pump, for example. 2 months in and the recirculation pump still isn't functioning after multiple visits from plumbers and the customer care team. Overall we're happy despite the minor issues.
