We built a nest egg and sold it to buy this home for us, our daughter and mom. Also because it will grow in equity much faster than the established neighborhood we were in. We are thrilled with the home and saw 30k of equity before we even moved in! Our nest egg is growing while we get to enjoy it! I hope more people knew about this opportunity.

Guy and Mike were both great. Mike especially really helped us out and "held our hands" as needed to cross the finish line and he continued to reach out and keep us informed. The issues for the 4 stars were mostly small, but needed addressing. There were issues with the carpet and "tacks" sticking up which pricked feet as we walked on the edges. On the price, as we got the eggs in our basket, the price increased at least two (2) times. I realize that things can increase, but it seemed overly aggressive.

We planned to buy our first house 1-2 years later, but when we saw SHEA Homes, we didn`t want to miss this opportunity. Thanks.

I always received warm welcome and caring attitude from Shea Homes during process of puchasing the house. Also during the process of closing Finance Team and Shea Team took all the process very carefully with due deligence. Wishing them all the best and keep building quality homes...

Nancy, Alex and Scott (realtor, site superintendent and quality controller) were responsive and helpful through the entire process. The home/prduct are excellent.

I don’t think the workmanship ( ie cabinetry, electrical quality etc ) is very good As well as how parts were designed Also upon buying there should have a bit more ability to make changes

The Sales team at The Reserves Lone Mountain was always helpful, responsive and made the process less stressful. Overall I give the sales Team 5 stars. Everyone was always helpful and sincerely cared for my concerns. The only thing that is stressful is that non of the other departments that handle everything after closing do not focus on client satisfaction to level sales did. Don’t get me wrong I do believe in the Shea Homes Product.No home is perfect after completion. But I feel like there should be more organization and communication between Trades and builder during repairs done after closing. And this critique is not aimed at anyone in the warrenty department. I understand and am aware they have to follow Shea’s policy. They need to make a system that allows trades to know what needs to be fixed or replaced prior to visit. And trades should take up their issues with builder not the customer when shea sends them for repairs. As it is stressful and feels like a full time job for 1 year warranty process of fixing everything. As someone who has built more than one home. My advice to Shea for my overall critique. FOCUS ON HOW YOU can make the client experience better for repairs. Implement a check system like Camelot prior to closing of repairs important to the customer. Focus more on the clients concerns prior then after closing. This will lead to SHEA enhancing its client satisfaction. As I stated above as someone who has built many homes with a number of different builders. If Shea Corporate! implemented some new things for their employees for the system of repairs prior and after. I truly believe the brand and product would be near or better then competing builders around the valley if they refocused this one aspect seeing is that the product itself is great. But wear and Tear items done during building need to be solved before closing. As it ads overwhelmingly to the one year warranty experience as stated above. I am aware nothing is perfect. But I believe there is always room for improvement. I do recommend the product but I recommend that any items damaged before close be resolved or have a solution communicated prior as well. If that small possible improvement in the system was achieved, I do feel like I’d be able to give a full 5 star review rather then 3. I truly believe that if Shea implemented the improvements I stated above it would lead to even a greater success as a brand. Shea Homes if you Read this ! Out of all your competitors I’ve worked with on new home projects! You currently take 2nd place but you easily could be first if you implemented new policy and procedure that allowed people to move in to their house with there items of concern fixed. And yes it can be done. As I have had a happier experience with Camelot in my post close experience. Your next question why didn’t you build with Camelot again then ? Because I did not like the location of any of the new community locations. They were either where god lost his shoes or in a neighborhood that did not yet feel improved or safe. Back to Shea. Overall experience of home buying was great. We were informed about every step of the home building process. Questions were answered without any hidden details. Lending process through the builder was not as pleasant as we thought. Overall highly recommended shea for build quality and craftsmanship. Happy to be in our new home.

This house is perfect to me really well-built floors, walls, cabinets, I like the bathrooms, garage, the lighting, to me the home is built with top quality material. The design inside and outside is excellent; I am a Retired 20yr Navy Veteran I have had 4 homes and this is by far is the best. Sanel and Brian were Outstanding showed me how everything works all warranties, all apps for smart home they did this with great care and kindness, Very Professional with a Great Personality, Thank you for this nice fancy and Beautiful Hilton type Home with a Great Environment.

Alex and Josephine were absolutely amazing! They were both so patient and really listened to what our family needs were in our new home purchase. We have three kids and one with special needs to the attention to detail was everything!

My overall experience with Shea Homes was excellent from start to finish. They communicated in a timely manner and there were very few issues during the process. Whenever I had questions they were quick to respond and address any issues that came up. I highly recommend them as a builder and am very happy with my new Shea Home.

Many finishes like LVT AND FIREPLACES ARE NOT OFFERED. No gas fireplaces no gas ranges. You are forced to buy what they offer and then tear it out and put in what you want. The design center is very weak’

After some miscommunication on the sales side, the design and production team was top notch.

Make sure you get Everything in Writing. Because you will not get what you were told you would. Then the explanations for that from Management will be: They should not have told that. There is nothing we can do now. Sorry about that. That is an error in our system and that is what you are getting. OOPS!!

Sunstone is a very nice community with lots of amenities offered. It’s a great way to meet folks and stay active, as much as or as little that you care to. The homes have very nice floor plans to choose from and the contractors move right along to keep your build on schedule. Their project website is very informative.

We were welcome to the Shea experience with Carmen. Every step made with the Shea team has been remarkable. Brian and Crue are excellent team players that continue to take care of every concern. We love Shea Homes!! Very satisfied with the quality of our home.

The house quality is very good. But the price is too high.

This was our first home purchase and we were pleasantly surprised to experience very little stress as it relates to ensuring the place was free from issues and we closed relatively quickly as well. Since moving in Shea and the warranty lead has been very quick to resolve any issue that arises and genuinely wanting us to be very happy with the purchase. I would recommend buying a shea home to anyone.

I want to share my experience with Shea Homes, highlighting both the positive aspects and the areas where communication and transparency could be significantly improved. From the beginning, I encountered challenges in selecting a floor plan. One of the most frustrating aspects was the lack of explanation as to why a balcony was not included in the design for the location I had chosen. I specifically wanted a balcony, but it wasn’t offered—and this important detail was never clearly communicated during the selection process. Another major concern arose when I discovered a $6,000 charge for a three-panel sliding glass door I did not request. It was automatically included in the home’s price, despite the absence of a balcony. Paying for an upgrade that serves no functional purpose felt unnecessary and unjustified, and again, there was no prior discussion or approval from my end. During the first walk-through, I identified numerous construction issues. Fortunately, the builder addressed them promptly, and I want to commend Vince, the superintendent, for his responsiveness and professionalism. However, the final walk-through was poorly communicated. I was not clearly informed about the timing or process, which left me confused and unprepared. After moving in, I was disappointed to discover the water in this area is extremely hard. I later learned—on my own—that Shea Homes offers a water softener installation during the building phase. Unfortunately, I was never informed of this option. Had I known, I would have absolutely included it, as hard water has a long-term impact on plumbing, appliances, and daily comfort. This lack of proactive communication resulted in a missed opportunity that continues to affect my home experience. Additionally, the post-move-in requirements from the Homeowners Association (HOA) added an unexpected layer of stress. I found it odd and somewhat unreasonable that homeowners are required to complete their yard landscaping within six months, yet the HOA’s own design approval process takes more than four weeks. On top of the delay, we were required to pay an additional fee for architectural design approval. The communication around this process was not smooth or supportive—it came across as demanding, without offering clear guidance or flexibility. I believe this process could have been handled more collaboratively to reduce unnecessary pressure on new homeowners. On a more positive note, I want to highlight the outstanding support I received from Mr. Will Duke, the warranty representative. He went above and beyond to resolve several post-move-in issues, including improperly installed bathroom drainage, water heater concerns, and electronic problems. His responsiveness, professionalism, and genuine concern for my satisfaction made a meaningful difference. I truly commend him for his dedication and customer care. Overall, while there were positive elements to my experience, including some helpful individuals along the way, I feel that several important details were either omitted or poorly communicated throughout the process. The lack of transparency around the balcony design, sliding door charge, water softener installation, and HOA landscaping requirements significantly impacted my overall satisfaction. Shea representatives were professional and the community is very attractive. The buying process was straight forward and structured in such a way that the number of decisions was minimized. Once under construction, the project manager was responsive to my questions and the quality control rep was very thorough in her explanation of all the features of my new home. Overall, my experience was excellent.

We love the area. The ancient and modern description fits this area perfectly. Our views are priceless. Tony, Gina, Todd and Scott helped us whenever we needed it. Great people! Great homes! Blessed to be a part of it all! Thank you! 10/10 review!

Disappointed with overall quality for a $1.0M+ home. A lot of issues.

From beginning to end, I’ve had nothing but a great experience. I particularly appreciate the attention to detail from each superintendent. Brandon was fantastic to work with. I love my home!!
