Always appreciate how responsive Octavio is!

What stands out the most about our home buying experience with Shea has been great people and fabulous, easy communication. This started with the realtor for the community, Berry Staub, who is kind and professional, always follows through, and has become a friend along the journey. Good communication continued throughout the build process as we worked with Wyatt and Kaleb - our project managers. This included emails detailing what stage of the build process we were in and also text communication from the PM's that included pictures of completed projects. They were both easy to talk to and discuss questions, concerns or just review the process with us; Issues were promptly addressed. At close, we were introduced to the warranty team who thoroughly reviewed how the warranty works, what is covered and what is not, how to register our appliances, and how to report issues, if any, All technology was also thoroughly explained by the Foresight team at a White Glove appointment. There were some unforeseen delays due to some design center choices that were discontinued, delayed, and/or arrived damaged, leading to 3 new design center choices being necessary many months into the build. As these weren't specifically Shea 'errors', yet were more related to stock and availability of items chosen, it is difficult to say that it was a Shea problem. What we would have appreciated being different: 1. An online catalogue of Design Center options that we could review prior to our one-time, 4-hour design center appointment. We were expected to quickly make ALL option choices for our home that were not considered structural (ie: cabinet color/design, flooring, handles, etc.) in this single appointment. This led to many back and forth emails with design and the process ended up taking over 6-weeks to complete the choices and to know precisely what the cost of our home would be. Having a second appointment with the designer -or- having the opportunity to review the choices before the appointment would likely have mitigated this long, drawn out process. As we were responsible to pay for the upgrades chosen at time of design center options being chosen, we expected that Shea would be purchasing these items for our home at that time. This is not the process, though. Items selected were purchased just before the build team would need to install them. 2. Some final details that needed touch-ups prior to close were not completed by our initial close date. In fact, it has been two months since we closed and one of the requested fixes is still incomplete. Although our warranty team and project manager are aware of the issue, the problem still exists. What could have/still could be done differently: follow-up with trades and customer to ensure requested work has been completed. Overall, would we buy from Shea again. Absolutely YES! Shea representatives from Sales to Building Sup’s and Support Staff, have been fantastic. Many are lifelong employees, which says A Lot, and they all seem to care about providing a great experience and buttoned-up final product. Of course, there are ALWAYS issues at the end of a build and after closing, and you can always expect minor fixes & finishes to be needed. Most frustrations we have had are scheduling trades to fix details post-closing and a few things that could have been avoided with more care during the build (again back to trades - not Shea or Shea employees). Initial contacts with BreAnn and Marlena in making our decision to buy, Mike at Shea Mortgage and Karen at Chicago Title were excellent and efficient. The first few months of home ownership have had some heating and electrical issues, but Shea has been responsive in addressing and resolving all issues to date. Shea offers a piece-of-mind 12 month warranty to include a 1, 5, and 11 month walkthrough to ensure everything is in order. We love our new home and appreciate the Shea Team.

This is are second home with Shea and their quality hasn’t changed. They offer great quality but to me, the best part, is the quality of service. I would always consider buying from them and recommending them to anyone I know.

Sales representative was fantastic through complete process and continues to be even after closing. Construction team and warranty team have been very responsive and continue to satisfy our needs. We unfortunately missed out on quite a few options as the design representative was unfamiliar with Shea homes and the time afforded us was insufficient.

Smart home features and operation can be overwhelming particularly for non-tech oriented people. Be prepared for steep learning curve on some things.

All of the sales team were very helpful. Follow up once we were in the home has been great.

Shea nickle and dimes you to death with charges for every single thing. This was my 2nd time having a home built in a community. My first experience included a lot of options in the purchase price with levels of upgrades, but Shea doesn't really give you a single option in the base price. You're stuck with everything basic, not even a choice of paint or flooring color differences. For a price $1M+ for a new home, you'd think it would include all the lighting, a landscaped backyard, high quality paint, window shades/coverings, smart home technology everywhere; however, none of this was included and all of it was additional costs. We have lived in the home since November and still have issues not addressed. Shea isn’t responsive to issues. Home buying experience was good and our sales person Patty was fantastic.

My experience with Shea Homes as a first time new home buyer went extremely well. Information was provided efficiently and all the staff is knowledgeable and available. Emails are responded to quickly and the home delivered on time. The quality is great and any need with the construction is timely solved. The people who have moved in around us are happy as well.

Shea Homes built our first home, and gave us an excellent experience throughout the home buying process. Sales staff was excellent and extremely knowledgeable, the construction process was well explained and generally well on schedule and updates throughout the process. We had a minor hiccup in the early phases of construction but it was resolved to our satisfaction and corrected quickly. The warranty service has been excellent thus far (~3 months into our home now!)

Solid well built house. With options we selected, love the finish out. Melba (sales) and Mike (project manager) have been very helpful and responsive. We've been in 2 months and looks all warranty issues are being addressed promptly. My only complaint is the price you charge for some of the upgrades, Example - we were quoted $2,300 to put in an EV outlet. I have a quote for $400 by a 3rd party electrician. Another example - we paid $7,000 for back yard landscaping Ended up with a few rocks, drip irrigation, and a half dozen small plants scattered around haphazardly. That's a joke. Now paying an additional fee to have the whole thing redone. Please tell future customers to just do it on their own and get something of value for 7K instead of the garbage Shea put in the ground. ... More

We had a great team throughout the process. Our home is beautiful and we love it!

Love our new home is Trilogy Sunstone. Shea Homes staff is wonderful to work with. They are friendly and are quick to respond to any issues/concerns. Building our home was a wonderful experience.

I would have appreciated a more comprehensive explanation of exactly what items were going to be put into the house, For example, the tub in the second bathroom is not quality and some of the workmanship in the house is sloppy.

Post sale, Ken has been very responsive and great to work with. When he says he is going to do something he does it and keeps me informed.

We really enjoyed working with Alex and Josephine from a sales perspective, they were great! Gabriel from a post sales quality control perspective was great too! The craftsmanship was good overall but had some areas where corners were cut.

Seamless experience from start to finish with attention to detail.

Great people to work with. Kirstie, Mike, Laura, Cooper, Sharon and all security guards very helpful and very friendly.

Almost every Shea person we talked with was a pleasure. The home buying process seemed rushed, and the Design Joy was hard to navigate. I felt like we were updated throughout the building process. After moving in, most items that needed repair were taken care of right away. The microwave does't fit correctly in the cabinet and we're still waiting for that to be fixed. My biggest complaint is the person you sent to the house to walk us through the "smart" features. The person who came out was not a pleasure to deal with at all. He was pushy and insistent that we had to sign up and use all the features of the home. Yes, even the ones we didn't want. So today my Sonos told me that there was someone at my door. The Sonos is in Murphys CA, the door is in Hollister CA. Now, my Sonos won't work in Murphys, because Alexa in Hollister has done just what we were told it wouldn't do, Alexa has taken over. Quite frankly the home buying experience was somewhat overwhelming. The fact that we were working from Cincinnati ,500 miles away, added a degree of difficulty also. There were many different people to work with for their functional needed. Then, there were the many documents that required electronic signatures. All the details with Shea Homes were in addition to the effort required to sell our house in Cincinnati. The onboarding process at Trilogy Lake Norman was also stressful. At times it felt like "trying to take a drink from a fire hose." There are some may topics that require attention. Customer service is supreme, caring, considerate, punctual, with amazing follow up! Sales team was very responsive and helpful!

This Is my 2nd Shea Home and the quality has been excellent. I work in the industry and the customer service is the best I’ve seen. Everyone stays on top of the whole process from the initial sale, through the construction walks, move-in, warranty etc. You can always reach someone and you always get a quick response and any problems are taken care of immediately. That is hard to find these days!
