Until you move in, you wouldn't realize that the home that you are getting is not the same that you expected or promised. There are descripencies. 1. Prices have been increased for all models and that's because of merket on inflation. However you won't get the same things that your neighbors might have got for same elevation and plans. 2. Garage walls are literally foam, while some models have stronger and smoother garage walls. If your kid kicks ball inside garage, they will break. You won't have access to garages in model homes and this will not be included anywhere in contract and in design studio to chose what you want. 3. Laundry room is literally like apartment. In model homes, you will see cupboards, but you won't get that in home. This will not be discussed during design studio and you will not have a clue until you move in. 4. While handing over the keys, they won't listen to you and won't let you talk. They only bother to get rid of home. 5. Yes, they do offer 1 year warranty that is to cover cracks etc. May be builders are bounded by law to do this which I am unaware of. All they do is repaint things and hit nails. Ofcourse, some small electrical work. 6. Solar is another thing where you will not have more options. 3.5KW panels doesn't cover much and this is just because of california law they go with minimum capacity I think. I wish we should get more options here. Overall, it's not unpleasant experience and it's not pleasant either. You will get a home, but not good feel due to these small compromises. ... More

We bought a spec house and had a good experience.

From our first meeting to post closing it has been a very smooth process. In the beginning we were just looking and we were not sure of our timeline. There was no pressure. When we were ready was up to us. Once we pulled the trigger everything moved quickly and flawlessly. The home is beautiful and we love it! It is so beautiful my sister just bought a house from Shea!

Workmanship very good, only small issues with new home that are addressed in reasonable timeframe! Regularly conducted inspections help to uncover and resolve any issues.

The construction supervisor was very responsive to all issues during the building process.

From our first visit in 2023, to our move-in this past February we have found this home design and buying experience to be superior overall.

This was my fourth new build purchase and having to do it without my late husband made it bittersweet. However, the process went very smoothly and the communication was phenomenal. Every step of the way I was informed of the status and sent photos. When I visited the property as it was being built, I was always greeted with smiling staff who were very eager to help with any questions I had. From the main guard gate to the salespeople to the field staff, everyone was always pleasant and made me feel welcome. This was by far one of the best homebuying experiences I have had. Pay attention to the details, pay attention to the difference between model and real house...a lot of what shown in the model after signature you discover in not there....good people in general but sales really focussing in maximizing profit and not to take care of client after sales. Before closure order an home inspection...you might be surprised, reply worth .

We had a wonderful experience from our very first interaction with Sara our customer sales rep, the Design Team, and working with our Field Manager Brad throughout the build process. The Shea team did a great job keeping us updated each week of the process. We love the neighborhood Shea has built and all the amenities to enjoy.

This is the 3rd home we have built and this was by far the best experience!! The team kept us well informed on the status of the entire home build.

The whole experience from purchasing, moving in, and responsiveness were outstanding. The house is very expensive for the square footage. But I think Shea Homes could improve in options 1: option for electric stove top 2: water spigots in back of home 3: patio should be wider (Latitude Model) 4: put a light in the pantry 5: a hot water circulating pump should be standard. Current set up wastes too much water in kitchen before one gets hot water

We love our new Shea home. The house was completed on the date promised. During the construction, we were notified of each major step as well as pictures of each stage of building. Issues that came up during the walk through were addressed immediately. Great communication and great people to work with. We could not be happier.

I was shown all the options that were included with my purchase. It was a comfortable purchase and any questions I had were answered promptly.

I would recommend against buying a home with Shea. The sold a vision of build quality and then continually made excuses of how the subcontractors in the area were low quality but all they had available for the build in a large city. There were multiple unfinished aspects of the build but when we asked that the complete aspects of the build prior to close they threatened to void our contract and keep our deposit if we didn't keep the planned move in date. Every subcontractor that we've had to bring in to fix things has commented on how absurdly poor the workmanship was and how things were just left unfinished (ex. cabinets weren't completely installed). They try to push all aspects of the unfinished build to after closing so they can be fixed "under warranty" without telling you that means they won't get to it for 6-12 months based on their warranty schedule. Overall, very poor experience with a builder that sells itself on "Shea Quality" only to cut corners at every turn. Use a cheaper builder because Shea uses the same subcontractors as other builders but charges a premium for the same build quality. ... More

Cannot say enough good things about Ryan. He was fantastic throughout the build process by keeping us updated and setting realistic expectations. We really felt like we had someone looking out for us! Jen has kind of taken over the mantle now that we are living in our home and early indications she will be just as responsive. They are both great representatives for Shea who have and will continue to personalize the process.

The entire process from start to finish was great

Generally, our experience was very good. We did have a problem with one of our air conditioners however, within a reasonable period of time, it was completely replaced our seller, Laura and warranty Specialist Neal Were in communication with us during the process and saw Us through the problem being resolved.

Shea builds a great home with attention to detail throughout and friendly, helpful employees helping every step of the way. The punch list post-sale was small and quickly attended to. We could not be happier.

Once the house becomes yours, consider yourself lucky if you don't have a silverfish infestation living inside your walls, or a huge amount of ponding in your backyard, or cracks in your stucco or anything else that is significantly wrong, because Shea will not help you.

We had a Shea home built in a 55+ community. It was not a good experience. The quality of the materials used and workmanship was poor. The walls are not straight, the floors creak, the options for finishes are the lowest quality possible with awful color choices, and you have no control over any of it. There was one person who was responsive to questions in a timely manner, but most were not. You are just a number. They are only in it to make money not for the customer service or overall quality of the home.
