This was the worst experience ever. I was told 10-12 month build time, it took 20 months to complete my home. No communication!

The purchase, building, and follow-up on our new home was a pleasurable experience. We loved the process and love it here as well.

My experience was stellar. While there were a few hiccups because of weather, supply and labor shortages, I was kept informed every step and given updated timelines. Building materials seem solid. The array of interior upgrade options (flooring, cabinets, etc.) rocked. Overall, very satisfied.

Special call out to the sales team, Liz and Laura- and our project manager Brian and warranty coordinator Lala off to a good start. Overall build is good, its definitely not custom, but we new that going into the build. The day we took possession, the painter a few hours before we arrived, dripped white paint all over the floor- and left the doors open in 119 degree heat, creating a massive amount of insects inside the home that took a month to get rid of them- that was definitely frustrating . Problem with original design center team, but Shea Homes stepped up and did the right thing eventually, but at the time, that was very disappointing that we had to go through that experience, what should have been an awesome time at the design center, we left feeling insulted and really frustrated. Despite the significant schedule delay, I'm fairly happy with the end result. Shea even offered compensation for the delay.

We have been very disappointed on the quality of workmanship on a home from Shea that has been so highly regarded. We have been in our home for almost 5 months and they are still trying to take care of our 1 month warranty work. When a homeowner points out poor quality of work, it should be taken care of, not argued about.

I am a firm believer that everything happens when it's supposed to happen. I had looked at this house about 4 or 5 times and was lucky enough to be able to purchase it when my house finally sold.

Should have done back yards for all homes not just the inventory homes that are not selling.

Overall was a positive experience from initial interactions all the way to closing. Shea team did job of keeping us updated along the way and were responsive to queries and clarifications, and we had pleasant interactions with entire team we were engaged with. Our closing walk through found mostly minor issues so that came as a good surprise. The workmanship while not perfect (we don't expect any home builder to be) certainly met our expectations for the most parts. Would recommend based on our experience so far.

A very pleasant and positive experience

Our experience with shea has been outstanding! Rachelle was always super responsive and helpful. Since we were relocating from MN she kept us in the loop and shared photos of the progress. Randy the construction manager was also great, he kept us update on the progress and anticipated completion date. I would highly recommend building with Shea specifically at Sunterra!

Many nice people living in the community, lots of events, clubs and something to do for everyone. Shea Homes salespeople are wonderful to work with. Many things in the choices need to be improved upon when designing the home. Better attention to individual homes for completion. Move in inspection should be improved upon also.

Sales team was great up until I dropped of the deposit check, and then communication was sparse. They neglected to tell me what was in the model homes but not in my unit, and no option for any changes or additions before drywall went up. They are slow to fix problems and some of the problems have returned. Other problems were 'within tolerance' and not fixed. The location is excellent, but feels overpriced for what you get (no yard here and very high HOA dues.) It's fine, but probably not the best choice for me - was hoping for more than just 'fine.'

Since it was our first time buying a new home, we had a lot of trepidation and questions. From day one, Libby, Helen, and Kelly greeted us warmly and sincerely. Throughout the whole process, Kelly guided us professionally and answered all our concerns. SHE IS WONDERFUL! Through the actual building of our house, Darren and Tracy were EXCELLENT! They tended to every detail and were top-notch in seeing that our house was built well. We would definitely recommend Shea Homes! Everyone was attentive to our requests and positively responded with good results.

Was a terrific experience, Tammy at sales office was such a pleasure to work with. Dan the warranty officer has been very helpful and attentive. Facilities and staff at Club and pool are great.

The experience up to the closing was great, but once you sign your name on the dotted line, good luck getting anything done. The warranty department is like pulling your own teeth, they have a lot of excuses for any problems you bring up, after you move in you’ll start finding issues with the poor workmanship.

the build time exceeded over a year. this was unacceptable and caused us to lose our rate lock. our construction manager was fantastic and communicated terrifically.

Fantastic experience and would highly recommend!

We know people that have bought in other Shea communities - Washington, southern California and Arizona. Build quality and process is night and day over Shea Trilogy Valor. The build quality has fallen short in most major categories, both interior and exterior. We were advocates of Shea Homes prior to buying into Valor. The only bright and shining stars in the home buying process are the warranty specialist and the representative of the homeowner's association! Very attentive, efficient and knowledgeable. some accessories used is old fashioned, Dimmers, Dimmable bulbs, Softclose toilet seats.

There is a lot of below-quality workmanship we found out. Most electrical power outlets were installed unsymmetrically. The kitchen cabinets have a lot of dings. One of our windows is uneven measurements. That's what we observed within the first few weeks of moving in
