Many defects, poor workmanship by the crafts. Many things pointed out prior to close were not addressed. Hurry up and sell mentality. Terrible customer service manager who doesn't pick up or return my calls from me.

The build experience towards the end was stressful. We chose upgrades that we had to follow up on. The project management was lacking. The workmanship was not good. We are still dealing with issues like basic finishing of tiles that have grout haze on them, Lvp flooring with stains. Quite disappointed

My trust was broken when I was pressured to close versus what needed to be fixed and repaired on buyin a new product. Sad that a Superintendant tells me this is a production home. When I spent $750,000 in upgrades. Not a happy buyer

This experience was awful! The VP Scott was arrogant and does not care about customers. I have asked other Shea home neighbors and they all felt the same! No one addresses problems and did not things seriously. We all spent a lot of money and chose to pick Shea, but we was treated as if we should be grateful to have Shea. That is why Perry has sold more houses in this section than Shea. Customer service is the most important aspect of sales.

This is in lot 39. We have experienced lots of trouble in the home. The customer rep is great, but home builder quality is very very bad. we will pursue law suite to get some coverage for the price paid

Who is Checking the Checker????

Beautiful home design and the price was good to include upgrade prices.. I had to remind construction manager about upgrades.. Who is checking the checker? The painters should be banned from painting.. Floors not floated or not properly floated… Still waiting 3 months for outdoor kitchen refrigerator handle.. Waiting on outdoor kitchen brick repairs.. Took a year 13 months to build home since deposit and watched neighborhoods and others builders closing homes within 6 to 8 months.. Can’t blame COVID-19 on this.. The warranty lady for Shea is correcting what should have been done earlier.. ...

Bad home buying experience

I had a really bad experience with Shea. I was given the wrong information since the beginning, and just went downhill from there. I simply could not trust them. On top of a bad experience, they also had some horrible design choices for this community. It was not on their website, and again try to blame it on the buyer. They tried to sweep any wrongdoing under the rug. I could tell, but they would tell me something different, and this happened at almost every level I dealt with. I did have an amazing experience with the Jr. Rep., who I thought was the only one I could believe.

Shea Homes purchased a superior parcel at The Phoenician and the subdivision design is spectacular! I wish I could continue with positive praise but I can’t. The lack of integrity from day 1, the poor quality of workmanship, and the ongoing lack of transparency is just the beginning. Building a home should be a happy time, but Shea Homes destroyed that dream.

Quality of workmanship is pathetic. Follow-up has been even worse. We've had our 1-month walk through 2 months ago and 90% of the items on the list are still not addressed. Here are some of the things that they missed the mark: damaged cabinets, uneven handles, damaged countertops, sharp objects protruding under flooring, uneven walls, slanted walls, damaged window, exterior wood voids, irrigation system that bangs pipes/walls, no pressure reduction valve, the list goes on.....

I had a bad experience and cannot recommend Shea to any new home buyer. There were many delays and the staff were unprofessional. Overall I had a very bad experience with Shea homes and do not recommend them to anyone looking for a timely home buying experience.

Our experience may be unique, but we did not have a good experience with Shea throughout the buying and build process. It all depends on who you work with in the sales office, the project managers, and how they address issues that arise. Unfortunate given our situation could have been handled very differently with a better outcome.

Shea built us a nice house but after closing the Customer Care disappears ... The overall quality of the house is average. The buying process was good, the choice of external materials and features was terribly poor: only a few samples of bricks and stones, no catalogs to see or images, just use your imagination to try to understand the final result, this is it was very frustrating. The Design Center is a trap for customers, just adding really basic upgrades (or simply changing some materials) the prices rises easily about 20K+. The "included" materials are really ugly. No quality check. Bad Project Manager. Lots of issues and don't fix easily after follow up also

Project Manager assigned had no clue on the work happening and literally there is no quality check done by Project Manager and Quality team. Not sure why Shea Homes has even employed them. Basics to major issues were missed out. Cracked woods, alignment, Gaps in exterior fly sheets (not stapled and low quality), wavy walls inside, tiles alignment, cracks in concrete. 7 windows needed to be replaces after we pointed out the issue. Our blood boils thinking about what we have been made to go through this. We have spent so many hrs wit observation, documenting and follow up with project manager ...

Horrible experience with alleged "custom" division

Shea Homes says NO to even any minor change that you ask for, and then turn around and build it for their company people buying homes in the same neighborhood. And this is for a subdivision built by Shea's supposedly upscale "Signature" division! They even changed the color of our home from what we contracted for!

Buying experience is really bad with Shea homes. I booked home directly from builder when I qualified for 2.7% interest but with in 6 months everything changed in economy and interest rate went to 5%. When I asked for some relaxation/discount they weren't helpful or flexible instead they threatened to keep all my 70K deposit. Where as other builders like Pulte gave 20K discount also flexible with closing date to my friend who booked new house around same time. Services is really bad with Shea. They don't even care about customers once they sell the property. Please think twice before buying ...

The process of building our house with Shea Homes was full of stress, frustration and anxiety instead of excitement. The company contracted unqualified workers that didn't care for the work they do. We though the quality of work will be the same as the model home WRONG, before moving in, we had to paint the house, the paint the company used was the lowest quality. We been leaving in the house 2 months and quite often we loss electricity in the master bedroom, we report the problem at least 6 times and still is not fixed, is a long list of problems due to the very poor job.
