Terrible experience !! Three months later and still NO OVEN!!

We had such a great experience with Shea! We absolutely love our house. Our sales agent Kris was so helpful throughout the process! All of the people we interacted with were friendly and made sure we were taken care of. We were nervous building during Covid, but our house was only delayed a couple months and the quality seems great. Would highly recommend a Shea home.

Love Trilogy concept so far

We expected a lot more from Shea Homes, especially in quality of workmanship. The COVID excuse needs to stop, yes supply chain issues still exist but quality of workmanship should still be priority one. Everything was going great right up until 2 months prior to closing when oversight of final build went out the window, When we did a walk through and blue taped everything, hardly anything had been fixed when we closed and moved in, it literally looked like they just went in an removed all the taped items and called it good. The house was filthy with paint and paint can marks on the LVP flooring, dirt on floors and walls etc. We were shocked at how dirty the place felt. In fairness, Shea has been outstanding with our concerns, complaints and trying to make things right, but it has been a tremendous amount of work on our part to schedule all of these trades to come fix everything. ... The whole experience was great. Everyone I dealt with was wonderful and provided excellent service, before and after closing.

It was a great experience buying the Shea home in Dunes. The build quality was top notch, and the mistakes were quickly corrected. We knew this going in because we already bought a Shea home in the past. The sales staff here at the Dunes took care of the preliminary requirements and guided us all through the purchase process. Most commendable was the staff that took care of fixing the construction defects. Isaac was always available to address our concerns and he showed us how to make the most of the features of the house. Our experience with Shae Homes has been very positive from the moment we walked into the sales office the first time. The sales executive has been an absolute pleasure to work with along with the construction manager. They both were always available to answer our questions and addressed all our concerns satisfactorily. They were always very honest with us when it came to the building process and schedule. During the warrenty period the are also very responsive and has been addressing any warranty issues, which are very few, promptly. The warrenty manager has also been very attentive and communicates well. The sales team is very disorganized and not very responsive. Home prep work before delivery was done at the eleventh hour. Production workmanship is subpar. Warrenty workmandhip is very good but inconvenient because of schedule and waiting for work to be completed; it should have been done correctly before home delivery. Rob Shay is outstanding as a warrenty specialist.

My home buying/building experience at Verde River was long, sometimes arduous, and because it took so long interest rates went up several points in the interim. This was very upsetting to me. It was not what I’d originally signed up for. Happily, I do love my new home. It’s lovely, excellent quality, and the Shea employees from A to Z couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. The area is beautiful, the club is wonderful, and my house is now feeling like my home.

Shae was great with keeping my husband and I updated during the home building process. We purchase during Covid and there were a lot of delays due to Covid delays. The construction manager was an angel and very responsive every time we sent a question or concern. Very happy with our builder choice!!! We love our new home!

Owen was awesome to work with from the sales side. We built during a very difficult time for everyone, so I do understand the delays we went through.

I am happy with my home, but knowing it is over-priced for comparable other commuities, I cannot endorse Trilogy. The pre-sheetrock walk-through revealed very poor beams were used. Beams my husband would have burnt before using them to support a house. Light switches don't make a lot of sense where they are set. Two require walking across the room to turn them off. One room has 2 switches for the same light 3 feet apart. Quality of carpet choices was disappointing. the one we chose unravels at the entry way, and shows even a piece of thread! Garage needs more outlets to charge power tools. Driveway is too narrow for 2 cars. Guest cars scrape the gutter when backing out because it is so steep. Even one less structure per block would allow more space between houses, thus more privacy. That would at least make me feel less like I'm in an expensive condo. Your Warranty Team has corrected a number of items missed at the final walk-through. ... More

As with any new construction you will have and find minor flaws. No major issues thus far. I'm very pleased with the warranty office in their quick and timely responses when I submit work orders. All trades, other than one, have been great to work with. One trade was a no show on a scheduled appointment where we had to wait all day to see if someone would show up after the scheduled time. No phone call or message to us to cancel or let us know they were not showing up. Follow up appointment took several weeks to schedule, so we will see if they show up for this one. All other issues have been addressed and/or being worked on. Our warranty specialist has been great to work with and does an excellent job with communicating with us for updates. All employees have been awesome from start to finish and kept us informed along with way. Sales office personnel were very polite and helpful and addressed any concern or question we had right up to the move in date. Where was the quality control? We have had nothing but MEP issues since we moved in.

We love our new home, it looks beautiful, we moved into the house sight unseen, we didn't pick out the finishes, and we're pleasantly surprised at how nice everything is. However, there are things that should have been fixed prior to us moving in that were overlooked, like scratched cabinet door fronts, missing cabinet door pulls, cracked tile, and paint splatters, just to name a few. I'm sure these things will be corrected but it's disappointing to buy a brand new home and have issues that should have been noticed by the builder.

They have good defaults like tiles and base carpets. But they really screwed up the cabinets. They installed with lots of scratches and damages. Even after requesting them to repair in the 1-month warranty, they didn't correct it yet. Their warranty service is really sloppy and not responsive.

I bought a model home and so I am not covered by a warranty. The builder’s representative is not going to help or allow anyone to help with problems in the home. The issue that I am faced with is due to faulty construction and passed off as because it was a model it’s okay to not build well!

Shea home builder did great job.

My home had multiple leaks from 3 different rooms for more than 5times , shea home came and check and said everything is fine , we just did it on purpose to make it happen, that’s ridiculous! And they say they can’t help and want me to call my own insurance . Now I am searching for legal help .Don’t buy shea home !

First time buying new home build , it was new experience , but you could have your sales people more clear in their instructions or information on what to do. But at the end I am happy with m house, thank you

I am a returning homebuyer, I bought a Shea Hime property in 2004 and had a wonderful experience. This time I did have a great experience with the sales team however the process of inspection and addressing construction issues was not compared to my first experience and it definitely needs improvement.

Had a great experience with Shea overall at the direct level. However, had I hired some of the subcontractors myself outside of costs being part of the mortgage — including those who did the blinds (sloppy work), solar/Sdge (still trying to setup), or misnamed “white glove” service (just a bizarre lack of quality service) — I would have moved on long ago and found better service providers. Two months in, I still can’t get a few things completed that should be off the list of to-dos. These annoyances, and I hate to say it, ultimately fall back on Shea Homes — who has otherwise been fantastic. Overall, the important things are more than great. The annoyance level grievances are just an honest assessment of things a new homeowner, in a perfect world, should not have to waste so much time dealing with and Shea Homes should be more discerning/on-top-of their subcontractors on behalf of their new homeowners. ...
