Some details appear after we moved, but I was impressed with the responses that I received from the Shae Homes team

Overall, a good buying experience with Shea Homes. I was told of a framed walk-thru, but never happened. Timelines were non-existed or vague. Construction workers and other workers were helpful and very knowledgeable. Location and pricing were excellent. Buying process were a bit chaotic with VIP's being involved in the buying process.

Finding The Grove and going through the process of application and hopeful anticipation on being able to purchase a home was both exciting and stressful. The Shea representatives could not have been more helpful as we set out on our journey. We were encouraged to visit as the build of our home started and we did that......coming out every week to see how the house was progressing. We watched it go from an empty plot of dirt - to a foundation and more. We met the crew foremen, who through the entire process were as professional and nice as anyone you could ever meet. When we had questions, they took the time to answer them. As the build progressed and we began to meet others already moved in, we started to hear of the issues we would need to look out for first. Ants for one. Understandably, the entire complex created upheaval in the ant community. We knew we would have to attack them. We heard, as the process to build picked up speed, that with the pandemic waning and supply chain issues relaxing, that the time frame on our home being completed would be sped up. This was exciting news and we embraced it in our planning. We met the Shea Customer Service rep as a final walk thru still bubbling with excitement. We moved in. We attacked the ants and after a long, several week battle we put them at bay. We started to hear stories from others just moved in about issues with their build. Some were very concerning and even a danger to health and safety. We started to find things that needed fixing in our house as well. At first we wrote it off as being much like a new car, small things need to be tweaked or fixed. Being under warranty made it easier to accept the problems. But as we lived here from a few days to a few weeks the list of issues grew. Many texts and emails to Customer Service resolved some of the issues. Some were handled quickly, some ignored (so it seemed). Some still not resolved. When we hear of other owner's issues - we feel lucky because ours in some cases cannot compare to the degree of others. The issue many of us as homeowners have come to believe is that the builder fast tracked too quickly. Crews were (and are) being pushed to get the homes completed and closed. The quality control checks to see if everything works......if everything has been done correctly, FAILED. Many of our "punch-list" issues would have and could have been found and corrected before we moved in.....if the builder had taken more time and utilized quality check resources to do so. As such, the after purchase Customer Service Department and the HOA are slammed with questions - problems and complaints. Economically this is foolish. The amount of money the builder spent to put us here is compounded by the frequent re-visits and repairs that simply should have been done right the first time. Do we regret our purchase and our move? Absolutely not. Would we recommend Shea Homes? Probably. Others including family members of ours have lived in other Shea communities without the initial move-in repair issues many of us have encountered. Do we expect all our issues to be resolved? Absolutely. Does it taint even a bit on the move here? Yes, a little bit. But we are being patient and assuming (and hopeful) that our list of issues will be resolved and no further issues will arise. It will be...it can be...a beautiful community full of very nice people. Everyone seems to have the same issues and it is a topic of discussion whenever people meet. But everyone is hopeful the learning curve will subside and we can live for years to come in a wonderful community. ... More

The purchase of the home went very smoothly and picking out our amenities was easy. The only negative about the whole experience was the delays in moving into our new home. So far customer service has been awesome

The entire process was flawless. The sale was low key without a pressured effort to purchase. The mortgage processing was easy. The closing was relaxed. Everyone worked to accommodate our schedules. The home quality is excellent and our home services representative gives us prompt responses to our requests. Best decision we have made in our lives

Our overall experience purchasing our new home was excellent. Sales representatives Tamara and TJ went beyond my expectations in keeping us informed of the build process and always answered our questions quickly. We were able to meet some of the crew who built our home and they have a great attention to detail in the home construction. Home service representative Octavio is very knowledgeable about all the home features and systems. He quickly helped to resolve any questions we had. This was the best home purchase experience I have ever had. I highly recommend Shea Homes.

Great showing models, good customer service great workmanship.

This is our 4th tract home purchase. Shea allows extensive options and high end customizations. Their attention to detail is impressive. Follow up once moved in is first rate.

I've bought a number of new homes in my life and this experience has to be one of the best. The quality of the home is supurb but what really stood out was the responsivenes and follow-up. Shea representatives are easy to get hold of and seem to truly care about their customers. I highly, highly recommend.

Shea has been great overall. Communication, value, and quality. The only problem that we’ve had was length of construction, but I would trade length for quality any day.

Sales, Finance, Design Center, Customer Support, All teams are very professional. The homebuying process is smooth.

The entire process was ok ….If you buy a lot to be build on it make sure that everything is transparently disclose if outlets and other utilities boxes are posted on your front yard …so no surprises at the end ! No to pleased with interior decorator support ! However After Closing the assistance and attention to details received from the house delivery representative Richard is been Outstanding!!!!

Horrible experience from the loan process until today 2 months after move in. The quality of the home is not worth the price. Everyday we have at least 2 repair men coming in to fix problems. The house we paid for is not what we got. We have spent the last two months putting money into the house to get the options that we wanted and some we paid for and did not receive. Even the Home Pro products are not good quality to include the door bell. Every disappointed.

The whole build out process was terrible. The general contractors here are basically sales people and have a made up answer for everything you ask them. We’ve had numerous items that were on our addendum that we pointed out that weren’t there while we did our check ins during the build. Sent our sales rep and GC an email listing out all of those things. GC made up lies saying like our coach lights are wired, they bricked over it and they just need to cut it out. Come back a week later, electricians are at the house installing it and even told us that they were called back out because they weren’t initially told to do that. In addition to other items, they ended up having to add it later and ended up doing a shotty job. Another example is that they missed that we were suppose to have a cut out in our master shower, added later, and spilled white grout in a section of our black stand shower floor, and the GCs excuse was that it’s going to change color because that’s where the water hits the ground.. It was clearly grout and he said professional cleaning will get it out.. lie. So be sure to check your addendum items that you paid for as an “upgrade” also our flooring has paint throughout that won’t come off and the wood flooring has noticeable gaps and said no flooring is perfect and they also have planks with wood putty filing and said it’s the texture… we have engineered wood floors, not real wood. When it’s clearly a damaged piece. GC even admitted that the floor was delayed because they were having issues leveling the floor and had to do it 3 times. They also had our dishwasher on top of the counters and ended up scratching it up, we could clearly see how they pushed the dishwasher off and left a clean straight line scratch that was black. It wasn’t coming off, he told us it was the pattern in the granite.. another lie, they ended up having to get someone out to buff it. Don’t get me started on how long it takes them to send someone out. Warranty hardly answers. I have to constantly follow up. We’ve had issues with electrical since we’ve moved in. They are all nice in person but when it comes to taking action.. silence. We’ve had issues with the doors and the weatherproofing causing bugs to come in, there’s a clear line of sight where light is coming in.. GC tried to say it’s a reflection from the glass on our door.. it’s not, when our warranty person came out she even said there’s clearly a hole. Our side fence is poorly cut our dogs can get out of it. GCs response was put chicken wire there because the slant of our lot they had to cut it like that.. also not true, even shea sales rep saw it and agreed that was bad. It got to the point where we were catching so many mistakes, the GC told us we can’t come check on our house anymore and that he would start locking the door if he had to. He wouldn’t respond to our emails, assuming he didn’t want it in writing, but when my agent would call him he would say he’s working on all fixing all the issues. Shea Homes--throughout an unusually long building process--did an outstanding job in communications> Their efforts were timely--informative--professional--friendly and responsive! The limited contact we had with Shea venders was also excellent! Overall, we are very pleased with our Shea Homes experience --and with our new Shea home!

Unfortunately, Shea has outsourced so much of the building process that problems occur. Dishwashers that are not properly hooked up, crawl spaces with mold, paid for insulation is not added and basic amenities are smaller and smaller. Wander over to an older unit and showers are 6x4. Come to a new model and they are 6x3. This is not you get what you pay for. Not giving name as I am dealing with structural and mold problems in a four month old home.

Landscaping in front yard not great

Builder delivered a quality built home, and quickly jumped hurdles to eliminate delays on completion. We were in our home before July 4th which was amazing and greatly appreciated! Sales was very responsive throughout the entire process … all the way to closing day!

waited 1 1/2 for a home only to find electrical items not working and loaner stove and garage door. Told another year or so ! Landscaper the worst dead plants and wrong even though we specifically noted plants we wanted and plants we did not planning on moving asap

The overall experience of buying a home with Shea is smooth and easy. The entire Shea staff (Sales, Maintenance, warranty..etc) are super responsive and go the extra mile to help you.

This is the third new-build home we have purchased in seven years - with the Trilogy at the Polo Club easily being the best experience. We had every opportunity to walk the property during the build. The walk through prior to closing uncovered only minor cosmetic issues, maybe 3 or 4, to repair. All of these were resolved in three days in time for closing. The quality, attention to detail and consistency of the construction is fantastic. The experience from sales representative to closing and after has been awesome!

Great experience and Shea Homes personnel were really helpful in every step of the way.
