Workmen have not shown up when they were scheduled to. Closed 12/31/21. I am still waiting for mirrors and shower doors on my master shower. It has been 9 weeks. Smart home visit was just completed yesterday. There appears to be a disconnect between contractors.

The tile work was the best craftsmanship in the entire home. Floors,walls, tub surround and shower look great.

Overall, we love our home and the neighborhood in Wickenburg Ranch. There were a number of issues regarding paint quality (recommend hiring your own painter) , drywall quality, door placement, leaky shower door, and exposed pipes on the patio. After 2 months of difficult discussions we were finally able to get Shea to resolve most of the problems.

Major options in the model may not be available to you. Ask about every option prior to signing. Finish work is horrible but, they do try to make repairs if you point out the issues. Some repairs work, some, not so much. I personally believe in delivering an acceptable and finish product without the customer having to point out issues. Pricing on options. Any upgrades are priced without considering a credit for the included option. Ex. A change from the low grade carpet to a mid level carpet is as much as having the carpet torn out and replaced with high grade product after the purchase ...

Expect less than full candor from Shea, reluctance to address for builder to correct reported issues, certain paired windows that do not match in size, haphazard interior work with wall surfaces, and incomplete resolution of all reported issues at one month walkthrough. Many issues were missed by time of closing by the builder at the first walkthrough. We expected much better and now have to endure two years of ugly construction behind our home and also occasional blasting that will continue for awhile, both of which we were not told about by Shea Homes.

Our experience may be unique, but we did not have a good experience with Shea throughout the buying and build process. It all depends on who you work with in the sales office, the project managers, and how they address issues that arise. Unfortunate given our situation could have been handled very differently with a better outcome.

Shea limited site visits to only once per month, seemingly to avoid us (and others) from pointing out various issues, like missing insulation, or missing options, or incorrect placement of options. They like to blame the trades for these issues, but they don't seem to manage their trades very well, and are more concerned about meeting schedule than delivering quality.

Generally speaking, I have good experience with the home purchase. Shea delivered the home on-time. However, there are lots of issues in the home. Just mention a few examples, such as air conditioning did not work because someone turned off the switch and we don't know where it is; doors are not properly polished and crooked, which we are still work with customer service to make correction; there are big holes under carpet, which just have been corrected. Paint needs to be touched due to either incomplete painting or have defects. I like your customer service personnel, who works with us ...

We just purchased a new home at Cetara by Shea Homes. The handover process was extremely disappointing, so much so that after 2 months of moving in we are still chasing to have almost everything fixed/ repaired/ replaced. The list is too long, but it includes flooring, shabby painting, poor workmanship, electrical issues, almost felt like we purchased from amateurs. Not a happy customer.

The follow up for repairs etc. is poor. The trades run Shea not the other way around. People show up unannounced and are not controlled. There is profit and there is overhead and things will not be so easy in the future as it gets back to more normal.

They used a lot of extra material for the model home that I bought which I really did not like there was not any option to change any of it. Which I thought was not fair if I am paying $80000 Above the actual price due to upgrades I should have been able to make some changes They way I like it not to pay that much extra because someone else decided for me. The garage opening is super small. I wish they could make some changes to that every in and out of the garage is a challenge. And finally the loan department is not customer friendly at all.
