The quality of the experience was noteworthy. All of the staff was very personable and each staff member seemed to personally care about the buyer and their needs. The quality of the home seems very good and the attention to detail is excellent.

The process of building our house with Shea Homes was full of stress, frustration and anxiety instead of excitement. The company contracted unqualified workers that didn't care for the work they do. We though the quality of work will be the same as the model home WRONG, before moving in, we had to paint the house, the paint the company used was the lowest quality. We been leaving in the house 2 months and quite often we loss electricity in the master bedroom, we report the problem at least 6 times and still is not fixed, is a long list of problems due to the very poor job.

I believe that we received a quality product for the price we paid. As a production builder, they have their processes and, other than picking finishes, you have very little input into the build process.

I had been out of the home sale market for over 35 years and Shea made me comfortable, explained all that needed to be accomplished and addressed my concerns along the way.

Once coverings started, so did poor workmanship. Holes in the sheathing, misaligned and damaged dry wall, poorly aligned trim. A lot of hacking, followed by hiding with plaster and RTV. Materials were above average, hence the rating of 3.

This was my first new build and Shea was great! They provided detailed, informative answers to all of my questions. Very responsive.

Everyone is responsive and will answer you in a short time. But after 5 months we still are waiting for repairs to our fireplace and stucco. The bathroom shower is dripping, plants that were supposed to be replaced 4 months ago still haven’t been replaced. Bathroom hardware fell off the wall and the front yard has sunk along the gas line from the rain. It was explained to me when this happened at a Taylor Morrison neighborhood that it was because of improper packing of the soil when the gas lines were installed. We waited for our range and hood due to shipping issues, which we understood. They came in October and the hood was damaged. We still do not have a hood and have had no updates as of 1/3/22 as to how long it might be. ... More

Despite the challenges of 2021 due to Covid and supply chain shortages/delays, Shea kept our move in date and performed amazingly well overall-thank you!

Shea has great floor plans and they try hard to do a good job. Realize absolute perfection is hard in this industry. Be realistic but allow time to look over your new home carefully before move-in as having work corrected after move in is not desirable. Enjoy!

The Superintendent was willing to listen and address issues, even making minor changes requested. The design center experience was a bit of an issue as a few items were missed. Later corrected.

Builder uses subcontractors and coordination between trades is poor or non existent. Sometimes things are put together without any thought being given to function. So for example a video doorbell is installed where the pointed at a wall rather than the entryway. A towel holder is installed such that any hanging towel blocks the electric outlet a few inches underneath. How does one plug in a hairdryer with a wet towel draped over the outlet. The front lawn is graded wrong and the manhole cover for the City drains are covered- solution? Unknown workmen come in, dig to uncover and expose the manhole cover and leave a pile of dirt on the lawn and an open hole that is a now is a potential hazard. The best part is this is done without any information being shared with the homeowner. Not even a knock on the door. Warranty service is very spotty. Messages left and e-mails go unanswered. Great first impression. Model selection is great. Design experience ok, did not like Builder's choice to add a pool. In fact, this was the most disappointing part of the entire experience. Otherwise, I enjoy the neighborhood and my home.

Shea homes made building a house a pleasure

From purchase to move-in and beyond, Shea Homes is there for you! To tour the community with a current resident, prior to viewing model homes is a genius idea and experience. We knew very quickly that this is the place to retire in beautiful Wickenburg Ranch! Our salesperson explained the purchase process, very transparent and applied no pressure. We were kept abreast of building process and since moving in, our Customer Service Rep is absolutely wonderful-very caring and responsive to solve any issues, of which there were very few.

We watched our home being built and we have been very impressed with the quality and workmanship of the house.

I used the in home lender. Dealing with the processor and Lon officer was great. I would absolutely recommend them. Dealing with the supervisor and that group was also good. They were friendly and communicated with me. But once I got the house everything went down hill from there. The counter top, which we also paid and upgrade charge. Where the slabs meet and when they put either sealer or a glue they never cleaned it off and dust collects there and you can feel it when you’re cleaning the counter top. The quality of the finish of the home is horrible. So when you pay to upgrade something in your home your expect at minimum great quality not perfect because we are all human. But when you bring up the issues and the response you get is, we only fix issues you can see from 3 feet away and you paid a significant upgrade charge, that doesn’t fly in my eyes, we paid this for our cabinets. They have paint missing, there’s a lot of runs from the paint. There’s complete sections of the cabinets that were not sanded. There’s many places where the paint is flashing and due to them not being painted correctly. The cabinet doors next to the stove hit the stove when you open it. I mean just horrible. The side of the doors weren’t sanded which we also paid an upgrade charge. The side of the doors have long cracks going down by where the door latches on to close. They at least agreed to fix that but not to sand them when I first brought it up which to me sanding and painting is part of the process. The paint job was done by Someone who was lazy to a T. The metal on the window have paint when they should of been covered. The outlet cover plates have paint in them. Where the toilet paper goes have paint chips when they rolled the walls they weren’t covered. The cinder block wall in my back yard was done incorrectly. It’s just a privacy wall and it should be a retaining wall. Not only that the footing was done incorrectly. My yard has a hill going up against the wall and my yard looks bad. I had to essentially argue with them as to why the wall is not done right. My house is the only like that I can see my neighbors house from my window and theirs are great. There’s more but those are the major ones. A lot of the issues here are from workers just being sooooo lazy and just plain out not caring about the quality of their work. This is my first house and for it to be a new build and have this major issue is a horrible experience. If this house had been built years ago I would understand all these issues but not on a new build. ... More

It was a pleasant experience, however we have an awful brick wall all around our property that is a terrible eyesore and nothing has been done about this, we bought a premium lot with no one next to us and now we have no view whatsoever.
