I am impressed with the quality of the work and the responsiveness to questions during the building process by all Shea team members. Since Closing, the responsiveness by customer service to issues and/or questions has been impressive.

At this moment we wouldn’t recommend anyone to purchase a Shea Home, matter of fact we wouldn’t let Shea build us a dog house. My wife and I would really like to speak with someone with some authority regarding our experience. We are extremely disappointed.

We were kept informed about progress on our home by our Field Manager, who sent pictures and updates. Our Shea customer service representative explained the features of our home and how to maintain our home for the maximum enjoyment.

Please be sure to check all appliances, my oven hasn’t worked from day 1 to now day 60 something, difficult to get assistance thru GE and thru the builder, doing it on my own thru constant calling of GE. Also upgraded painting, cabinet work, etc. has flaws, mostly cosmetic, however, been told it was difficult to get the proper help. The builder has sent people to try to fix the flaws, however, I though I was finished with workers coming into my new home. Speaking to other new residents and they seem to have similar issues.

The quality from model home to residential home is unexpectedly lower. The finish trades are not as high quality as they were in the model homes. Disappointing ! Richard has done everything possible to get the trades to complete work orders, sometimes they just don’t show up.

From deposit to close of escrow we appreciated the customer service and responsiveness to questions and concerns After close, Shea continued to show great customer service by addressing outstanding issues.

We were impressed with the responsiveness of the sales office personnel and the customer service we received to address any issue.

From start to finish you're simply a # to Shea. They clearly do not care if you have a positive home-buying experience and will cut corners whenever possible. Their trades are subpar at best and their Project Managers have little control of the quality of their work. The excuses for the inferior workmanship come fast and furious and in the end you're left with whatever they choose to deliver to you. At closing our home was not finished and we were left with more excuses. Now two months post-closing and our over-priced $10,000 fireplace still doesn't work. The Rinnai tankless water heater with recirc pump does not deliver hot water and is riddled with glitches making our lives miserable. We have sagging floor boards, nails protruding from the pull-trowel drywall finish and constant electrical issues and these are just a few of the ongoing problems. In the end, I could never recommend Shea to any homebuyer. You'd think that due to their size they'd have safeguards in place to ensure they can deliver a home that is of modest quality but you quickly realize they are so big that they simply do not need to care if you like it or not. ... We lived out of state during the construction of our home. The Shea team made that process relatively stress free by communicating with us regularly with photos and email updates regarding the construction progress.

The buying process with Owen was exceptional. The design center process was rushed and way too many options in models were no longer available, making decisions very frustrating. Since we were local, we were able to find issues to be corrected readily. Primarily because we kept issues on our field manager’s plate did we end up with a home with most item’s resolved. Working with Joe to fix first month problems worked great.

Electronic devices and software don't function properly at The Grove, making it frustrating and wasting time, especially for a 55+ Active Adult community. Numerous repeat requests to customer service and numerous repeat visits by the trades to repair or replace defective equipment. Rinnai tankless water heater, canned lights, smart light switches, and Eero wifi are among the major problems.

Let me start by saying that my wife and I love the area, neighbors, and the model home we selected. We also appreciate many of the Shea associates who helped us along the new home journey. With that being said, unfortunately in my opinion the quality that was touted prior to building has left us very disappointed especially for the amount of money you are spending to purchase your new home. We understand that with a new home there will be some issues along the way, but we have had our fair share of challenges which has taken away the excitement of enjoying our new home. To Shea’s credit, the staff and workers have been very responsive to our needs in trying to make things right. I sincerely believe that with so many new homes under construction each with their own time frames, quality is definitely suffering. So, would I recommend Shea homes, time will tell. Very helpful in most areas

Every person involved; sales, service, construction personnel had fantastic attitudes and tried to be helpful. I had a Shea Home before and that is the reason why when I heard about this new community in Camarillo I jumped right on it.

Pleasant people to deal with.. sales office has excellent representation

SOD was laid unevenly. Cabinets had obvious damage and was incorrectly installed. Electrical mounts are crooked. Cracks already showing up in the driveway and basement foundation. Porch concrete discolored. Baseboards were poorly attached with no pride in workmanship.

This builder will stay around and correct any issues that were not done right.

Love the community and the house. Wish that they had done a better job in inspecting and cleaning the house before delivery. It would have been a better representation of the quality of the builder and less follow up for me and my wife.

Overall satisfied with our new home. Construction quality, design and finishing of home is awesome. Glad we made the right decision to go ahead with Shea.

Shea handled the current material supply chain problems pretty well and delivered a very nice home to us. We love this area and feel safe here.

Shea homes was wonderful at keeping lines of communication open & responded quickly to all my questions and concerns. Also noteworthy was how everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. They build high quality and beautiful homes - I am so happy with my decision!

Could not add options to patio, close to closing or after. Would like to use same contractor but said no by Shea. Makes no sense. Poor customer relationship. Must select all options at time of purchase.

When I started looking to buy a home I looked at all homebuilders in the Houston metro area. When I came across Shea homes I really liked the floor plans, and they had some upgrade options that I have never seen with other homebuilders. I had never heard of Shea homes before, so I did some research online and saw that they had good reviews. I came to see the model homes in person and fell in love with one specifically. At that time the lots were not released yet for pre-sales, but I spoke to the Sales Rep. David and he kept me updated on when we could buy. The building process took about 5 1/2 months and David, Josh, and Jason kept us updated along the way. They are very friendly, respond quickly, and always addressed any concerns we had.
