We recently purchased a lighthouse from Shea Homes. We like the quality and the purchasing was very smooth.

Shea homes building experience is top notch at Avalon Crossing. Their sales team to project site manager and warranty manager have been wonderful to work with. Their communication is top notch.

Way too techie for me!!

Working with the PMs were great, all of them were punctual, easy and quick to respond, updated us constantly to know where we are in the process. We even were ahead of the target date and that was relayed to us for preparation of the move. Overall a great experience for my first new build

Buying your first home is supposed to be stressful and it was a little, but all the people at Shea Homes made the process as easy as possible and quite enjoyable.

Despite a nearly 4 year long process to move up on the "list" with a less-than-transparent home buying experience, I was finally fortunate enough to be "picked" to purchase a home. I purchased in 9/2024 and closed in 7/2025, which is the exact amount of time that Shea projected. Once in, the home is beautiful and exceeds my expectations which is quite hard to do! It looks alot bigger inside with the walls up rather than framed. There were several issues that I found (despite 4 or 5 sign-offs by Shea and the City) like the ducts not working with the thermostat and an overhead light being placed in the wrong place that Shea eventually fixed. There were also lots of paint touchups needed, a few plumbing/sink/shower issues, refrigerator issues, scratched floor boards that needed to be replaced, and other items that required Shea to fix. While they were all eventually fixed, it was a very painful process to work with the warranty employee and way too stressful. Now that the fixes are almost all complete, I can finally exhale and enjoy the house without workmen. The actual neighborhood is incredible - everyone is so happy to have gotten the opportunity to purchase a home that they are so friendly and happy to be here. Putting my prior 4.5 year journey aside, I am so happy to have purchased a Shea Home and it's gorgeous. I am 100% happy that I didn't settle for another house in the area and waited for this home. This is the third home my wife and I have had built. This has been by far the best experience we have had. The Shea team was excellent throughout the entire process. We could not be happier.

The whole home buying process with Shea Homes was so smooth..Bailey and her crew addressed all issues before closing. And I received great customer service from both Bailey and Hanna along the way. They have been a pleasure to work with. Shea Homes is top notch. I am now living in my dream home.

My experience with Shea Homes was okay overall, but I was disappointed with parts of the process. Their lender offered me an interest rate much higher than the market despite my strong credit, and when I chose another lender, I lost the promised closing cost coverage. I was also told inspection issues would be resolved before closing, but they weren’t though paperwork was signed as if they had been. The home is nice, but the process could have been far more transparent and customer-focused.

Love our house. Excellent quality in workmanship. Whenever anything issues quite right they are on it immensely. Amos is our warranty person and he is exceptional. It’s been a great experience.

Second Shea home purchased. Both Shea homes I purchased are built with quality. Any issues are promptly addressed.

Overall, the purchase of our condo at Fox Point Farms has been great. Customer Service has been excellent! Victor is great! He responds right away, and repairs are addressed efficiently in good quality.

Construction manager was great, I truly appreciate his expertise, attention to detail and professionalism. Sales representative was always very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoyed working with them both.

We’ve had a great experience with Shea Homes so far. The house itself has been very comfortable to live in, and the overall quality has been excellent. The sales office has been wonderful—professional, attentive, and always providing timely updates and detailed information throughout the process. The on-site inspection team was thorough and helpful during the walkthrough, and the customer service team has also been responsive and supportive. Overall, we’re very happy with our home and with the Shea Homes team. Thank you for making the process smooth and reassuring!

All charges were not disclosed up front (SID). Didn’t find out about it until signing contract. I was told certain things were included in the HOA which were not. The solar company that I had to sign a contract with filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, leaving me in limbo. There were overcharges on documents sent to the loan company. Still waiting to hear back from the HOA management regarding a correction on my account. I will say Frankie went to bat for me regarding building issues. I truly appreciate his willingness to help and make things right for me. Mike has also been great answering any Warrenty questions and responding very quickly. This was our second build in Encanterra with Shea. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and professional. Susan at the design center was very helpful and got us through the process of selecting our finishes quickly. We did spend quite a bit of time before our meeting with her, selecting a lot ahead so our time with her was more efficient. Antonio and Mike, our site managers, were always eager to meet and address any concerns early on.

Everything about the house was built as expected, just like what we saw in the design house. Even though there were minor flaws, Shea’s warranty service was excellent

The Shea team was incredibly helpful, responsive and amazing during the home buying process. Everything was effortless and has been great even past my move in date (thanks Victor!). Great experience with shea homes. Their sales team and warranty is unbeatable, we got the exterior and lot that we preferred. The only issue that we found out is the noise isolation is not properly took care of. Same washer and dryer, but the noise is soooo loud! I feel the entire house can here, but I feel the distances and location almost the same in my previous house, I did not hear that much, that's why I deduct the two points from the quality of workmanship and materials.

The overall homebuying experience was long and a little convoluted, which may have been in part due to the development being new and things still being worked out. An example is that I was told that I would have a backyard sprinkler station installed for me to use while looking at the model homes, but then told after I started the buying process that it was not part of the offering. I was also not too impressed with the Shea Mortgage folks and the amount of paperwork I had to continually update and resubmit, seemed very duplicative and time consuming. For a track home, the quality is pretty good, The most disappointing was the cracks in my garage cement, which I get will happen as the house ages, but it hasnt been that long. I pointed it out during the delivery and was told that the cracks were within tolerance and did not have to be fixed. The rest of the issues overall have been minor, with some electrical switches and fans not working properly. I do get the impression that they do want to fix things and make sure all is working properly, which helps with the trustworthiness and responsiveness scores. The overall value for the price paid is pretty good in comparison to other homes for sale in the area. ... More
