The response by Shea Homes to the leak of the dishwasher was horrible. Additionally, the lack of detail to the overall build of the house is unacceptable.

My experience with my new construction home has been disappointing. I have not even been in the home for two months, yet I have already encountered several issues that have caused significant concern. At my one-month warranty walkthrough, the only issue I identified was the bathtub in the secondary bathroom. The tub did not appear to be new and appeared to have been resurfaced. That issue was reported and has been in the warranty process for approximately two months, and it is still not resolved. Since the one-month walkthrough, after actually living in the home, I have discovered additional problems. These include black mold around the toilet in the primary bathroom, broken tile in the primary bathroom, a dishwasher with rust and a door that is coming apart, a light fixture in the secondary bathroom that continues to go out, and a cabinet door in the secondary bathroom with a hinge that is coming off and will need to be replaced. These newer issues were not identified during the initial walkthrough because they became apparent after living in the home. I will now need to submit additional warranty claims for these items. I understand that owning a new home can come with minor adjustments and warranty items. However, I purchased a new construction home with the expectation that the home and its components would be new, properly installed, and thoroughly inspected before closing. Discovering this many issues within the first two months has been frustrating and has made me question the quality-control and final-inspection process. I am sharing this feedback because I hope Shea Homes takes these concerns seriously and improves its quality-control process. This house is beautiful and well made. Any concerns we've had have been resolved swiftly and efficiently. I trust that this builder has built a quality home that will last.

By default, they used high quality build practices, like spray foam insulation. Our sales representative was very responsive to questions we had and good to work with. The building manager was incredibly kind and patient and kept us looped in to everything going on with the home. He made us feel extremely comfortable with an unfamiliar process.

The Shea family welcomed us in and are taking care of us even after the sale. They honor their warranty down to the smallest detail. They make me feel like my wife and I are their favorite customers. Thanks Nichole and Jorge!

Sales interaction was super, supportive, personable and trustworthy. Always available and helpful when need. Construction was to notch, great experience very interactive, supportive, anweso updates/communication and trustworthy. Always made sure I felt heard and connected. Was very professional and able communication was Awesome!. The construction manager Rocked! Inspection, I happen to arrive while house was going through on of the inspection. It was a great interaction and experience. I was treated and immediately connected with and answer all the questions I had. Warranty, great interaction, very supportive, very responsive , and I feel like me and my family is being care for. Low voltage, meeting was average, but informative and helpful. There aresome things that should have been done better as far as install for the quality of the house the Shea builds. Financing, was very cumbersome, poor communication, disconnected. I complained about my experience to the sales team. I never had a difficult experience like I did with Shea mortgage. Our experience building a home with Shea Homes has been nothing short of outstanding. From day one, Blaise and Tommy made us feel welcomed, valued, and supported. They are genuinely some of the friendliest people we’ve ever worked with. Blaise, in particular, went above and beyond throughout the entire process. He was there every step of the way, answering questions, providing guidance, and helping us navigate every decision. There were even times when he took the time to help us think through furniture placement and design ideas, things that were well beyond what most sales consultants would do. From start to finish it was the best experience we ever had building a home. Location was the key. The salesperson worked with us from Day 1 to make sure we got what we needed. The construction manager had great communication and made sure we were satisfied. The design people were nice and knowledgeable. The Closing activities were very smooth. We can see why they are the #1 builder.

I did not give 5 stars because of Shea Mortgage. My experience working with Dina and Matt was outstanding, and we could not have asked for anything more. We loved the weekly updates on how far along the construction is, plus Dina's patience with us in answering all our questions. Everything went south when it came to closing, and it became a nightmare after moving all our things from Maryland to TX. My recommendation is to definitely build with Shea Homes; they do a good job, but avoid Shea Mortgage at all costs. They will be the first mortgage company to be recommended to you in order to receive the incentive. Please ask for Tina at CMG Mortgage; she will save you from any heartache and unnecessary delays. You will still get an incentive working with CMG instead of Shea Mortgage. I love our home and will build with Shea Homes again, but will rather die than work with Shea Mortgage. We are super excited about our new dream home. Thank you Shea homes for the low interest rate; we would not afford to buy this house if it was not for the 4.99 interest rate offered by the builder.

Overall, it was a good experience. The team was easy to work with, and the workmanship and quality were solid. However, I wouldn’t recommend using the insurance company they partner with. Their representatives were rude and seemed uninterested in helping customers. Emails were often ignored, and when they did respond, questions weren’t clearly answered. Interestingly, they only became responsive when I mentioned bundling car insurance.

Shea homes are very attractive. Quality is very good. We love our home.

Construction manager was great, I truly appreciate his expertise, attention to detail and professionalism. Sales representative was always very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoyed working with them both.

Josh and Jeremi were amazing! From the very beginning, Josh made sure the selection, design, and approval process went smoothly. Once the building began, Jeremi was consistently communicating and made sure we were up to date with every phase. I could not be more happy with the home buying experience because of Josh and Jeremi. I've had nothing but great experiences with Shea homes. From initial meeting with Matt, the home builder Zack, and follow up with warranty rep Brandon. These guys have all been A+. I would definitely buy from them again if I were in the market.

The builder,Joey and the warranty person, Brandon have been easy to work with. I am still waiting on the mail boxes to be installed to save me a trip to the Conroe Post Office.

Shea Homes built our first home, and gave us an excellent experience throughout the home buying process. Sales staff was excellent and extremely knowledgeable, the construction process was well explained and generally well on schedule and updates throughout the process. We had a minor hiccup in the early phases of construction but it was resolved to our satisfaction and corrected quickly. The warranty service has been excellent thus far (~3 months into our home now!)
