Great home buying experience from start to finish

It's a beautiful community, very organized and with state-of-the-art construction.

Randy was very detailed and thorough when walking us through the property and always displayed patience with our many questions. He shared some great tips for new homeowners on caring for our new home.

The homebuying process was smooth with good customer service. The house is well-built and made from quality materials, but some design flaws leave a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste. For example, a few awkward door swings, a poorly placed light switch, and a strange kitchen layout make you wonder if the home design was tested for functionality. Some of these issues were addressed and modifications were accepted, but some other issues were simply ignored.

We had a great experience working with Josh on the home purchasing side of things. He was very helpful and worked with us on our relocation. The experience with him was great. When the house was turned over, Josh was very helpful with going thrugh the property and was helpful with the small things right when we moved it. Where things feel short was the details. With a house at the pricepoint we purchased at, there were just too many small things missed that we had and are having to get addressed. I feel its the details. I also felt we go the same quality if not lower in some of the items compaired to lower price point new contruction homes we have had in the past. I expected to have some upgrades and they just were not there. Issues being addressed right when we moved in were done promptly. Our one month issues have not been addressed promptly and the workers did not show up when they were supposed to, to address the issue and it took longer than expected ... More

We are very pleased with the house we bought and are overall satisfied with the quality of the construction and the responsiveness of the aftermarket team. Our inspector did not find any major issues, and Peyton was quick to fix them before closing. After we moved in, some minor things have come up and Carlos has helped us fix them promptly. Our buying process was not what we had expected, mainly due to the treatment we received from the sales agent Theary. We had been looking for a builder that fit our lifestyle and Shea hit all the marks. From time of our first meeting to the closing the Shea team was available for all our questions and kept us informed of the process of the building of our home. We are very pleased with the home we purchased from Shea and would recommend them to others who are looking to build a home.

I’m satisfied with the home. Didn’t care for the building experience. It was extremely stressful. I’m still dealing with issues from the build, having to turn in warranty request to get items corrected!

My salesman was very helpful and still continues to be if I have a question. The HOA in Woodleaf Reserve could have helped me a little more but they depend on you to read the small print. So far warranty work was completed successfully. I would have changed three things about my home and I've pointed them out to the salesman who agreed with me!

The subcontractor PSG Landscaping is ruining your reputation as a stellar builder. Between the combination of our warranty manager and PSG, our experience is: • Both our front and back lawns are completely riddled with lumps under the grass where you cannot walk 5 feet without turning an ankle. • We have a drainage problem in both yards but worse in the back to the point there have been washouts I could crawl through. And every time it rains it gets worse. It rains a lot in the Houston area. • The work is entirely substandard, and PSG is unwilling to do anything about it and the warranty folks don’t seem to have the governance over them to fix things right or in a timely way. Below are some of our experiences in dealing with this situation: • PSG has threatened to cancel our warranty. • Here we are in month two and nothing has been remedied. • PSG regularly misses promised dates and is unresponsive. • PSG staff are rude to your face and see no need to apologize for any of it. • PSG always does the minimum and hightails it out of here and it takes weeks to get them back. • We have to go outside with our dogs so they don’t get out through these washouts. • When PSG fixes something, invariably they break or disable something else. • PSG leaves our gates open after doing work here so our dogs end up getting out even though there are signs posted on both gates. • We have been watching all their work around the development and it’s all the same low standard everywhere. • Our warranty manager Brandon boasts of not responding to customer needs after 5 and before 8. Sometimes he completely ignores our voicemails or texts. He is completely ineffective with PSG. • The entire chain of command in warranty appears to be afflicted this way. • We end up going weeks before anything is done let alone getting a response from warranty. • When something is done, it’s more of the same substandard work. We have a pie shaped lot and a lot of yard for our dogs. I think PSG's experience is limited to very small yards because they have completely failed here. ... More

As close to a custom home as possible without paying custom prices. Josh, the sales rep was refreshingly honest, and they worked with us throughout to help us get the deal done. Jeremi, our connection super was very helpful in all aspects of the process. Highly recommended!

We bought a Shea home in Missouri City and from the time we visited their office, everything was such a pleasant experience! Their model.home was amazing, so we looked into their homes available and ended up finding a home that met all our needs. Jane and Karl were very helpful in the buying and walk-thru processes. Special thanks to Carlos who was excellent at detailed explanation, and also addressing any issue we had after moving in. We're very happy with Shea homes..!

It was an excellent experience. Carlos Lou and Mike Rodriguez were more than helpful and attentive overall. The house was not finished according to the timeframe and got extended for another 5 months due to Centerpoint (negligence)?. Carlos and Mike did a good job in updating us from time to time regarding the construction progressThey were thorough. I am happy with Shea house. They have our support even after closing. Oscar is quick to attend /fix to the house few irregularities. We do appreciate this more. I would say excellent customer service rendered by Carlos , Mike and Oscar. We appreciate Shea’s extended warranties especially the 1,5,12 mos maintenance. It feels like they didnt just dump you as soon as the closing is done. It feels we are being taking cared for. Project Manager assigned had no clue on the work happening and literally there is no quality check done by Project Manager and Quality team. Not sure why Shea Homes has even employed them. Basics to major issues were missed out. Cracked woods, alignment, Gaps in exterior fly sheets (not stapled and low quality), wavy walls inside, tiles alignment, cracks in concrete. 7 windows needed to be replaces after we pointed out the issue. Our blood boils thinking about what we have been made to go through this. We have spent so many hrs wit observation, documenting and follow up with project manager to get things fixed. All the time we were pushed these will be fixed before delivery. Big liar. In the end when we did escalate to higher up, that level of management is superb awesome but the damage is already done. Like tiles they agreed to replace 90+, but as we had already moved in the home and kids being allergic to dust we could get this corrected and living with these misaligned tiles. ... More

This is the second home my husband and I have purchased and the experience was amazing. Matt was super friendly and so helpful. Any questions we had, he answered. And if he didn't have the answer, he called around until he got us an answer. Shea really takes buying a home to another, more enjoyable, less stressful level. My cousin was with us as we purchased our home and seeing how we were treated and how happy we are, she went with Shea and just moved into her own home. JUST A FEW HOUSES FROM US! Shea truly is about quality and not quantity, unlike every other builder we've looked into. The time and effort Shea puts into their homes, is definitely worth it.
