A very pleasant and positive experience

Our experience with shea has been outstanding! Rachelle was always super responsive and helpful. Since we were relocating from MN she kept us in the loop and shared photos of the progress. Randy the construction manager was also great, he kept us update on the progress and anticipated completion date. I would highly recommend building with Shea specifically at Sunterra!

Great construction manage - very well managed

HVAC seems to be poorly installed. Multiple issues in first couple months in the home. Walls cut open everywhere, mold from condensation.

My experience with shea homes was amazing. Rachelle did a great job with this house. The house came out beautiful & only a few minor things needed to be fixed after my first walk in. I will definitely recommend shea homes. I’ve been in my home 3 months & loving it.

Overall we did not have a great experience with our first home purchase. Three different builders worked on our home. The first two were let go. I will give credit to Jorge for inherited a myriad of problems, did his absolute best to clean up the mess. You must get a third party inspector. It's a must. The builders gave us a very hard time over that but we still had him come through, despite costing us $750. Our inspector delivered a report well over twenty pages. We were wooed by the model house. Yet the quality of the build on ours was anything from it. Sloppy craftmanship through out, facets and receptacles not level, light fixtures out of socket, and unsealed window sill molding letting spiders and various insects in. A leaky sprinkler systems, and an AC that doesn't cool the house. Needless to say the paint job was poor too. The garage remotes never worked. The workers didn't even bother removing the wraps from the garage rails, and there is spray pain everywhere. It's just sloppy hurried work. Be careful, verify, verify, and then verify some more. My high expectations have been exceeded throughout the entire home buying experience. Alan took are of the pre-sales process flawlessly, Joel was instrumental in getting the last minute details sorted during our walkthrough prior to moving in (and just after), and Tracey ensured that our minor workmanship issues were addressed during our 30 day warranty check-in. My wife and I are so pleased with our decision to purchase a Shea home. After five home-buying experiences (one internationaly), this has - by far - been the best experience to date. Well done Shea.

Shea built a quality home with added great features. Their sales staff is very responsive and their workmanship is high quality.

Tracy was wonderful and very knowledgeable and just as concerned about items in our home that requires repair. We are grateful to have her in our community.

Shea was an extremely smooth building to buy from, the sales office was great, the title company and closing departments were top notch.

We were out of state when we bought our house so we had some apprehension about the whole process. But Jane was there to help guide us through it. She worked closely with our realtor throughout the process. As the build phase wound down, we started working more with Mike the build manager. He was very responsive and understanding throughout the process. We don't think the house would've come out as nice without his leadership. We did have several known problems going into closing that were a pain to get resolved since we had to let people into the house we now owned. We had to deal with the trades. It was a great experience buying and living in a Shea home. We got to choose so many upgrades which helped in personalising our home to our taste and need.

The wait was worth it. Shea Home actually uses good building materials for their construction. We've had 2 neighbors from other builders compare their building structures to what we have and they both confirmed the quality.

I would recommend Shea Homes to others based on the construction and the construction manager Randy. I would warn them about Shea Homes sales team, people like Rachelle and her manager as they gave me one of the worst experiences of my life. Also I would warn them of some of the sub contractors like Home Pro who where anything but pro.

I am extremely disappointed with the quality and workmanship of my newly-built home. As a new homeowner who has invested over $500K into this property, I expected a level of quality that is simply not present. From the moment I moved into my newly built home 3 months ago, I have encountered numerous issues that should have been addressed during the construction process. The walls are not straight, the paint job is sloppy, wall texture is uneven, tiles are crooked, cabinet paint is peeling, windows seals are broken, roof was leaking, pipes were leaking behind the wall, and a number of other issues. We’ve addressed these issues, and some have been corrected, but with it was met with lots of difficulties. Almost 3 days a week for over 2 months, we’ve had various contractors in our home to fix the issues in which they come over unprepared without the correct materials and equipment. They also come uninformed of what they are supposed to do and it’s difficult to communicate to them because there is a language barrier. Also many of them are sloppy and created more issues resulting in multiple visits to fix the issues they’ve caused. There are still a lot outstanding issues that needs to be addressed and the warranty team seems are not as responsive as they were when we initially had our 30-day follow up. This lack of communication is unacceptable, especially considering the amount of money that I have invested into this property. I am frustrated with the level of service that I have received thus far, and actually hate my house. I regret buying it and can’t wait to sell it. ... More

We love our house but getting anything fixed after the fact is impossible.

Don't buy from them. Rather buy a 100yr old house than a new one from these people. I guarantee ull have less issues. Only person was excellent was the sales guy and the warranty lady. Kindergartens could build a better house.

Buying a Shea homes is something that you'll remember, I have owned different brand new homes but it was a normal experience. Shea homes takes an extra mile to build you that dream home and they ensure that will be a lasting experience. Thank you Shea Homes

They are very responsable. Aways very receptive to fix any detail in the house. Easy to communicate with.

The house quality was good. Also, the builder's representative whose name was Randy was very responsible. He was great! But we were not happy for the delay to build the house. It delayed almost half year for completion to lead to our mortgage loan rate to be higher, which means that we need to pay more money for the mortgage loan.
