This is our first home in USA and we could not ask for better!! From day 1 which is visiting the sales office our experience has been amazing. The support and professionalism shown by Shea staff stands out than any other we have heard or seen. The crew (sales, construction, mortgage etc.) have been really helpful. House is build to meet all the regulatory requirements and codes so one can sleep peacefully. I am really grateful to Shea team as even with the issues faced due to pandemic and winter storm they managed to get the house ready before estimated time. I enjoyed my home buying experience. With so many builders in Houston we chose Shea partially because of their sales rep. She made us feel at home as soon as we stepped through the model home’s door. My home is beautiful. Every morning walking out of my bedroom I feel like I’m at a resort.

Our sales person has been great, even throughout the pandemic/hurricanes/snow storms, she has stayed in touch with us. Throughout the build on the other hand there were several issues that were addressed but had they been done when first notified issues would have gone smoother. There is still items that have not been resolved since the walk through. Electrical items and lighting that was selected from the beginning, were forgotten and had to be installed later with more cut outs done to drywall. Other issues like; •Sprinklers system had a leak. •Double garage door is having issues. •Doors to backyard, handles are coming off. •Have found several areas where grout is missing in tiles. •The seal around main bathroom tub has cracks all around. ... The subcontractor PSG Landscaping is ruining your reputation as a stellar builder. Between the combination of our warranty manager and PSG, our experience is: • Both our front and back lawns are completely riddled with lumps under the grass where you cannot walk 5 feet without turning an ankle. • We have a drainage problem in both yards but worse in the back to the point there have been washouts I could crawl through. And every time it rains it gets worse. It rains a lot in the Houston area. • The work is entirely substandard, and PSG is unwilling to do anything about it and the warranty folks don’t seem to have the governance over them to fix things right or in a timely way. Below are some of our experiences in dealing with this situation: • PSG has threatened to cancel our warranty. • Here we are in month two and nothing has been remedied. • PSG regularly misses promised dates and is unresponsive. • PSG staff are rude to your face and see no need to apologize for any of it. • PSG always does the minimum and hightails it out of here and it takes weeks to get them back. • We have to go outside with our dogs so they don’t get out through these washouts. • When PSG fixes something, invariably they break or disable something else. • PSG leaves our gates open after doing work here so our dogs end up getting out even though there are signs posted on both gates. • We have been watching all their work around the development and it’s all the same low standard everywhere. • Our warranty manager Brandon boasts of not responding to customer needs after 5 and before 8. Sometimes he completely ignores our voicemails or texts. He is completely ineffective with PSG. • The entire chain of command in warranty appears to be afflicted this way. • We end up going weeks before anything is done let alone getting a response from warranty. • When something is done, it’s more of the same substandard work. We have a pie shaped lot and a lot of yard for our dogs. I think PSG's experience is limited to very small yards because they have completely failed here. ... More

No major issue with the home buying process,

We are very pleased with the house we bought and are overall satisfied with the quality of the construction and the responsiveness of the aftermarket team. Our inspector did not find any major issues, and Peyton was quick to fix them before closing. After we moved in, some minor things have come up and Carlos has helped us fix them promptly. Our buying process was not what we had expected, mainly due to the treatment we received from the sales agent Theary. All through, we felt as if we were asking her for a favor and received a push back on every single request. Overall experience from home purchasing to move was great.

We were out of state when we bought our house so we had some apprehension about the whole process. But Jane was there to help guide us through it. She worked closely with our realtor throughout the process. As the build phase wound down, we started working more with Mike the build manager. He was very responsive and understanding throughout the process. We don't think the house would've come out as nice without his leadership. We did have several known problems going into closing that were a pain to get resolved since we had to let people into the house we now owned. We had to deal with the trades. I know there's a lot to juggle but these things should've been handled earlier. All in all the process went great and we'd do it again. ... More

The wait was worth it. Shea Home actually uses good building materials for their construction. We've had 2 neighbors from other builders compare their building structures to what we have and they both confirmed the quality.

We love our new home.

The homebuying process was smooth with good customer service. The house is well-built and made from quality materials, but some design flaws leave a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste. For example, a few awkward door swings, a poorly placed light switch, and a strange kitchen layout make you wonder if the home design was tested for functionality. Some of these issues were addressed and modifications were accepted, but some other issues were simply ignored.

Shea built a quality home with added great features. Their sales staff is very responsive and their workmanship is high quality.

Shae was great with keeping my husband and I updated during the home building process. We purchase during Covid and there were a lot of delays due to Covid delays. The construction manager was an angel and very responsive every time we sent a question or concern. Very happy with our builder choice!!! We love our new home!

We had a great experience working with Josh on the home purchasing side of things. He was very helpful and worked with us on our relocation. The experience with him was great. When the house was turned over, Josh was very helpful with going thrugh the property and was helpful with the small things right when we moved it. Where things feel short was the details. With a house at the pricepoint we purchased at, there were just too many small things missed that we had and are having to get addressed. I feel its the details. I also felt we go the same quality if not lower in some of the items compaired to lower price point new contruction homes we have had in the past. I expected to have some upgrades and they just were not there. Issues being addressed right when we moved in were done promptly. Our one month issues have not been addressed promptly and the workers did not show up when they were supposed to, to address the issue and it took longer than expected ... More

I’m satisfied with the home. Didn’t care for the building experience. It was extremely stressful. I’m still dealing with issues from the build, having to turn in warranty request to get items corrected!

Great construction manage - very well managed

SalesPerson David was awesome. Did above and beyond what was in his control. Represented Shea very well. Love the home, specifically the layout.
