I'll start by saying if I knew what I know now, I'd have gone with a different builder. The workmanship and quality of Shea Homes product (specifically) my home is complete garbage. For what the house cost, anyone in their right mine would expect a better product. From poor paint job, floor/tile completion, misaligned doors and the list goes on. Each day I'm in this house, I find more issues of poor craftsmanship and rush job. What makes it frustrating is the fact there were zero compromises from the builder in regards to making minor changes during the building process but here I am waiting weeks for them to fix items that should have been done from day one. The finance lady acted like she couldn't care less if we went with a different financial institution, which actually should have gave me a clue on what I was getting into. Bottom line is, other than the sales rep, the rest of the experience has been well below average. Tired of taking off work to get crap fixed. Which brings me back to my beginning sentence, if I knew what I know now, I would have sprinted away from Shea. But lesson learned! Just my experience. ... More

We had a great experience from the beginning when we met Alan. He was courteous, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He was always available to answer any questions throughout the process. We are also very pleased with the warranty dept in making sure everything was done to our satisfaction. We give kudos to Joel and Alexis for their hard work. I definitely recommend Shea homes for their beautiful custom homes and customer service.

Shea homes buying experience was an easy process and any issues that I uncovered after I moved in was addressed in a timely manner.

The best thing Shea has done is hire Kim and Earl. They are the epitome of customer service and are the backbone of Shea homes in Cane Island. Kim is literally an encyclopedia of everything there is to know about Shea and their floorplans. She has the most amazing memory and the brightest smile. Earl has got to be one of the hardest working individuals in this company. After living in the new house for over a month now, I see Earl going around all the homes to be finished as early as 7am all the way past 7pm some nights. He is so good at his job. Always follows up with whatever I may have asked him. Always treats me and my family with kindness and professionalism. I initially went to Coventry (the other builder of the section) to shop their homes and tried to tour their models/builds. Tina, their salesperson, hates working past 6pm and complained outwardly to me on two separate occasions. I am self employed working 7 days a week till 5:30 every day. My 25 minute commute gives me 5 minutes to view homes and talk options? God forbid I have to keep her an extra 15 minutes past her work hours all while she potentially could have made some good money if I bought Coventry. Well I didn't. I suppose the housing market was so strong, she wouldn't care if I bought one of their houses or not. That's okay, because the next day, I walked in to Shea's model home and met Kim for the first time. She was more than happy to stay late to discuss their homes. Don't get me wrong, Shea has beautiful homes, but Kim was a huge reason we went with Shea. Our last home was a Lennar build and that was a disaster I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to endure. Entire process from beginning to end was smooth. They kept us informed abd did constant walk throughs. We had a great project field manager to help us on our home. If you are considering buying a shea home, it will be worth the money, time, and a quality home!

Great team, from the sales representative to the builder as well as the warranty team. Warranties are amazing, every small detail found after moving in was handled promptly.

David was a pleasure to deal with during the purchase and closing. Richard did a great job managing the build. Brandon has been very responsive to warranty issues and any of our other concerns. Great experience. The only reason why I dinged the quality of workmanship is because I do think they did a poor job finishing our driveway. It looks like a hurried and inconsistent finish which can happen when subs have multiple pours in a day. Again, everyone at Shea that we have dealt with has been a pleasurable experience. Our experience with Shae Homes has been very positive from the moment we walked into the sales office the first time. The sales executive has been an absolute pleasure to work with along with the construction manager. They both were always available to answer our questions and addressed all our concerns satisfactorily. They were always very honest with us when it came to the building process and schedule. During the warrenty period the are also very responsive and has been addressing any warranty issues, which are very few, promptly. The warrenty manager has also been very attentive and communicates well. Shae was great with keeping my husband and I updated during the home building process. We purchase during Covid and there were a lot of delays due to Covid delays. The construction manager was an angel and very responsive every time we sent a question or concern. Very happy with our builder choice!!! We love our new home!

The process of building a home can be very stressful and overwhelming but the folks at Shea homes made my experience very smooth. From the sales team (Catherine) to the construction team (Jorge), every single aspect of buying from Shea homes was great. Even after closing, the construction manager (Jorge) continues to check in with me on any issues or questions I have.

Quality of kitchen cabinets not good, drawers wiggles . K Kraft or J kraft came to check and said that’s how it is. Doors not installed well. Floorings in the second floor noisy when someone is walking. I think for a new house not supposed to be like that. was address when we reported it but still the same noisy floor. It’s weird and not good for a new house.

The Shea home building experience was really good..On the construction side Josh, Matt and Jorge were excellent and on the sales side Catherine was great too. The building process is fun and stressful all at the same time. After the sale the Shea people have a 1,5 and 11 month warranty walk through and Brandon takes care fall issues that were missed prior to closing, just as it should be, service after the sale how refreshing in this world we live in today.

Horrible experience from the loan process until today 2 months after move in. The quality of the home is not worth the price. Everyday we have at least 2 repair men coming in to fix problems. The house we paid for is not what we got. We have spent the last two months putting money into the house to get the options that we wanted and some we paid for and did not receive. Even the Home Pro products are not good quality to include the door bell. Every disappointed.

The whole build out process was terrible. The general contractors here are basically sales people and have a made up answer for everything you ask them. We’ve had numerous items that were on our addendum that we pointed out that weren’t there while we did our check ins during the build. Sent our sales rep and GC an email listing out all of those things. GC made up lies saying like our coach lights are wired, they bricked over it and they just need to cut it out. Come back a week later, electricians are at the house installing it and even told us that they were called back out because they weren’t initially told to do that. In addition to other items, they ended up having to add it later and ended up doing a shotty job. Another example is that they missed that we were suppose to have a cut out in our master shower, added later, and spilled white grout in a section of our black stand shower floor, and the GCs excuse was that it’s going to change color because that’s where the water hits the ground.. It was clearly grout and he said professional cleaning will get it out.. lie. So be sure to check your addendum items that you paid for as an “upgrade” also our flooring has paint throughout that won’t come off and the wood flooring has noticeable gaps and said no flooring is perfect and they also have planks with wood putty filing and said it’s the texture… we have engineered wood floors, not real wood. When it’s clearly a damaged piece. GC even admitted that the floor was delayed because they were having issues leveling the floor and had to do it 3 times. They also had our dishwasher on top of the counters and ended up scratching it up, we could clearly see how they pushed the dishwasher off and left a clean straight line scratch that was black. It wasn’t coming off, he told us it was the pattern in the granite.. another lie, they ended up having to get someone out to buff it. Don’t get me started on how long it takes them to send someone out. Warranty hardly answers. I have to constantly follow up. We’ve had issues with electrical since we’ve moved in. They are all nice in person but when it comes to taking action.. silence. We’ve had issues with the doors and the weatherproofing causing bugs to come in, there’s a clear line of sight where light is coming in.. GC tried to say it’s a reflection from the glass on our door.. it’s not, when our warranty person came out she even said there’s clearly a hole. Our side fence is poorly cut our dogs can get out of it. GCs response was put chicken wire there because the slant of our lot they had to cut it like that.. also not true, even shea sales rep saw it and agreed that was bad. It got to the point where we were catching so many mistakes, the GC told us we can’t come check on our house anymore and that he would start locking the door if he had to. He wouldn’t respond to our emails, assuming he didn’t want it in writing, but when my agent would call him he would say he’s working on all fixing all the issues. The quality and overall experience we’ve had with shea has been terrible since we signed our contract. I would never build with them again or recommend anyone to build with them. ... More

Builder delivered a quality built home, and quickly jumped hurdles to eliminate delays on completion. We were in our home before July 4th which was amazing and greatly appreciated! Sales was very responsive throughout the entire process … all the way to closing day!

Love at 1st site. The Shea home that I recently purchased had all of the features that I wanted from the hardwood floors to the patio area. My sales person Jane was easy to work with and had answers to all of my questions. Jeremy the building supervisor knowledgeable and easy to work with. Buying this house has been a totally positive experience.

sales person was helpful and was knowledgeable but after deposit paid she wasnt much help addressing my concerns. There were several delays with the build and communication about completion was minimal. there are still some items that havent been fixed or completed in my house. I felt frustrating during most of the process

Catherine in sales is very courteous, professional and very responsive. The builder Matt, was generally not receptive to patent errors and in some instances expressed irritation when it was pointed out e.g. unlevelled flooring, narrow doorway where a person could barely fit through (eventually fixed) , framed out closets (eventually fixed) etc. Currently the soil around the walkway is greatly eroded due to a couple of rains exposing the cement underneath. Oven doesn't turn on. Broken diswasher installed at closing and was replaced after closing. Roof on walkway needs the flushing to be redone due to a framing issue because water is retained on an incline not sloped properly. Hopefully these outstanding issues and the list provided to the warranty team gets resolved when the one month inspection occurs. ... More

Everything that Chuck said was pretty accurate, and he gave his professional opinion on what he thought was best for us, meaning picking out good products ( color, design, and others layouts. He made it simple and easy for us during the building process and kept us up to speed on what was going on. He responded to any of our concerns in a timely fashion.
