As a first-time homebuyer, my experience purchasing a home was extremely disappointing from beginning to end\. From the sales representative to the loan officers, there was a significant lack of communication, organization, and accountability throughout the entire process\. We were given information by the sales representative about certain items that were ultimately not included in our home purchase\. The inspection report was not submitted in a timely manner, preventing us from having the opportunity to address necessary repairs before closing\. Despite these delays, we were rushed to complete everything on our end\. During our final walk\-through, we also discovered that an appliance was not working\. On closing day, we were initially instructed to complete the closing virtually, even though our situation did not qualify for a virtual closing\. As a result, we had to make a long drive to the title office and close in person that same day because we were required to close on that specific date\. Even on closing day, there were additional issues with communication\. When I picked up my keys, I was given only the keys to the home and not the mailbox keys\. I had to drive to the post office to address the issue, without knowing that my mailbox keys had been left at the model home\. I was never informed where the keys were or that they had been left there\. Throughout the entire process, I felt that I was the one responsible for following up, requesting updates, and making sure things were moving forward\. We received incorrect information from the very first walk\-through, and the lack of communication created unnecessary stress during what should have been an exciting milestone for our family\. Buying a first home should be a positive and memorable experience, but unfortunately, ours was filled with frustration, confusion, and disappointment\. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this builder to my family or friends\. Let me start with the ultimate pro of this home buying experience, the new homes sales consultant. His name is Scott *****. He was very, very helpful with all of the questions I had throughout the process and is a great personality. Here’s where the buying experience takes a little but of a downturn. I had a third party home inspector come out and check the home prior to closing. The inspector gave the builder a list of things that needed to be fixed because they weren’t up to code and recommendations on other things that needed to be fixed with the home. Me and the builder, Caden *****, overlooked the list of things that needed to be done with the home after the inspection and much of it was fixed by him and his team. However, they left a few things unfinished such as black staining all the way down the driveway, cracking in the sheetrock in the garage, and unfinished trim along the kitchen cabinets. I had to pressure wash the driveway for a couple of hours to get it looking like my neighbors. Caden had said that his team would come by to finish the driveway and kitchen cabinets but never did. I had reminded him twice but it was still never done. I’ve been in the house for about a month and there have been a ton of stains coming up on the vinyl flooring throughout the kitchen and living space. It appears they used too much glue throughout and it seeped through the cracks causing everything to stick to it. My house is very clean and I never wear shoes in the house, however there are still many stains coming up. I had to buy a deep cleaning mop to clean the floors and it’s done a decent job at getting them up. I just think the overall quality of the build is less than desired after being all moved in to the home. I would advise others to look elsewhere for builders if possible. ... More
