The overall experience dealing with sales, construction and post sale with Lenar was terrible. First Alexa the Real estate agent Did a nice bait and switch to get me in the door and then two weeks later push out build two months. Postale, they never gave me a mailbox key and I had a fight with them for 21 days to get the mailbox key which they never delivered to give me. She claims she went to the local post office, but upon further investigation when I went to the same post office she claimed to go to. I spoke to the supervisor and he said not a single person from Lenar has come to get your mailbox key and he redid it for me. They are dishonest people craftsmanship is less than subpar and I’ve had to make over 15 warranty claims. Construction project manager, never double checked with plumbing to have the system flushed and it was clogged with a bunch of sand and composite that I had to have the plumbers come out and flush everything to include the water heater and all drains. I had a very good purchase experience. We have had few issues in the home, but reported through Warranty and get attended quickly. Thanks Lennar.

When we did our final walk through, our punch list was never completed. We were told by the realtor and construction manager that it had to go through the warranty guy now. There has been barely any communication on his end. We’ve lived in the house 8 weeks and our punch list is still not completed.

We moved in a couple months ago and were surprised to see some of the issues we’ve dealt with for a house this expensive. Parts of the build seemed rushed and the materials weren’t as good as you’d expect for this price. Overall I’m content with the home but wouldn’t plan on buying another WCI home after this.

Upon purchasing the new build, it was explicitly stated that no customization whatsoever was allowed. This was fine as most of the finishes were pleasant, however, certain items that cannot be renovated without extreme costs are frustrating. Number 1: Insullation/AC Who uses standard R 30 which is code minimum on a wood frame second story in our area of FL. AC unit is undersized and there is clearly a major temperature difference when moving room to room even with the doors open. AC vents are inadequate for master suite. Only one vent for a huge room and it is not centrally located in the room. The returns for hot air back to the AC handler are only passive returns. Would have loved to opt in for sprayfoam insulation, active air returns, and or a properly sized AC. Number 2: Inspection/Walk Construction manager was pleasant to deal with. However, you don’t get to talk to him until the day of the closing and the customer service rep who is also the home warranty person will without diligence by the customer. Dictating what to put in the punch list exactly will gloss over some details. Be willing to push your closing to get them addressed. It’s my belief that this is done intentionally and not designed for the customers best interest. The customer should have the visit with the construction manager prior to the day of closing in. There should be a period after closing where they should handle little details to remove pressure off of the customer to have it done right before closing. They are taking advantage of an eager customer to overlook details. That said, the warranty department has been responsive and are pleasant to deal with. However, the process can be improved so that there is very little the warranty department ever hast to do. ... More

The home is beautiful. The design and layout is exactly what we wanted. But the quality of the workmanship, given the price paid, is really not good. Every time I have an independent contractor here for something they comment on the corners that the builder cut in building this home.

We’ve bought a few homes with WCI/ Lennar and this was by far the worst experience. The new home consultant was terrible about returning calls, text, and emails. We were left in the dark for so much of the process. We were originally told that buying this house would make us members of the yacht club, which we found out after purchasing was false. The bidding process was terrible and a few months later, the same model was listed as much cheaper, although that may just be the bad luck of the market. The house itself is nice and the project manager has been responsive and helpful. I’m glad to finally just be in and not have to wait any longer. Our family recently purchased a home and the experience with Lennar Home Builders was 100% positive so far. Alex our new home consultant kept us informed of the progress all the way through, she was also very helpful while we were going through the initial process. At the time we purchased inventory was low and we were required to place a higher than anticipated deposit in a limited amount of time. BUT she helped negotiate that period and make it smooth. Andrew the construction manager was the star. When push came to shove and our closing date approached. (Including the date we had to be out of the temporary rental.) His team worked tirelessly to get the home completed for an on time delivery. He and his teams were out there late into the night, on Saturday's and Sundays. It is clear he cares about the work he does and the people moving into the homes. We have had a few items come up during the warranty period which was expected. The process of signing up for video inspections before a local person comes out is slightly annoying as the schedule is limited and we work but i understand the need for processes such as that. With all that good being said about our Lennar Home and the Construction process I would be remiss if I didn't say this. You may want to AVOID LENNAR MORTGAGE. Our "loan officer" was either so overwhelmed and unexperienced she could not respond to our inquiries and when she did the loan programs were not what we asked for. After a long time trying to get it straightened out we informed them we were going with another lender. Doing a very large closing cost contribution however we still had a better program by using the outside lender. The funny part is at the very end she reached out surprised and asked if she could earn our business back. After providing the prequalification and details of our loan she never got back to us, par for the course really. And now we are still getting invoices from one of the insurers they planned to use asking us to pay presumably because Lennar Mortgage and the loan officer never told them we closed with another Lender/Title Company/Insurer. The home buying process started off great. I received weekly updates from the sales representative, had a great first walk through and things seemed to progress at an ok pace. Things started taking a turn after the first appraisal. Home was appraised far below the offered value. Unfortunately the seller was unwilling to negotiate the final sale price. We went to the final walk through and when we left there was a plethora of a blue tape everywhere. Missing windows, screens, doors, kitchen hood even shower enclosure. We were assured all these issues would be fixed by our closing date. Needless to say we closed there days late. However, the title agent was awesome. She was very responsive, flexible and understanding. We are 6 weeks in the home and still waiting on several repairs to be made. For a million dollar house the quality of the work does not match. ... Terrible experience and poor workmanship of home

Megan, loan officer, was amazing. She was supportive, efficient and readily available. Of course, successful in getting me through this process. Purchasing a home is challenging in itself, therefore, having someone who I connected with was very helpful. Bridgette was also amazing. Without the two of them, I don't know if I would have gotten through this. Thank you, Megan and Bridgette. After the buying process, I have reached out to Robert to address little minor fixes. Robert is also great to work with and he is very responsive. Thank you, Robert.

Structure is quality but the finish work is not to par. The sales associate just collects your check at the beginning and end. Non-existing the rest of the way and if you ask questions, the responses are inaccurate most of the time.

The sales team was good, they were providing regular updates on the status of the build and helped to get the initial paper work done . The construction manager was just trying to close out the home without completing the work which was mentioned in the observations they are very tactful to say we will take care and not include in the inspection report things they know will not get done . ( still not closed after 1 month of moving in ) Also the construction managers prioritization order of building home is questionable, a home which started 3-4 after my property gets closed before and it’s the same model !!! How can this happen ?? Further the observations noted takes for ever to get closed after you move in . All tickets raised are not addressed timely only after follows up it’s completed. I hope the construction manager and warranty team are more responsible and address issues and concerns would make the home buying experience much better … ... More

We knew about Lennar’s reputation but really wanted to live in this neighborhood. The quality of work is so poor. We’re having to have so many things re-done and we’re paying for other contractors to do the work because we have zero faith in Lennar’s abilities. I understand it’s hard to get laborers right now but that’s the job of the construction manager, to stay on top of things and make sure things are done correctly. And I’m not talking about minor repairs, they forgot a wall. A wall! Then they tried to patch it in and it looks terrible. Our paver driveway looks so bad that we had another company come out and they said the pavers are in such bad shape, they wouldn’t use them, they’ll have to redo the entire thing. When they did the garage epoxy, they WENT AROUND things that were sitting on the floor, so now we have areas with epoxy and other areas without. We have crown and baseboards that don’t line up, the drywall/painting look like a child did it. It’s beyond bad. It’s just really sad. I would be embarrassed to work for Lennar. If you must buy a Lennar home, make sure you allocate funds to fix things yourself after closing. ... More

What I recommend new buyers do- hire your own inspectors to verify the integrity of each stage of construction. I didn’t have an issue but better safe than have a problem after you move in. I had/have a great sales agent, lennar mortgage loan officer, and customer care rep (Gary, Peter, Larry). The quality of finishing materials is great. Had a pleasant home buying experience.

Workmanship is poor and it looks like no one was overseeing the work

Excellent communication and response during the complicated home building process. Gary B. Tim C. and Marco S. all contributed to a timely and positive home purchase experience. They accomplished an on-time delivery of our home during a challenging construction environment.

Very rushed through the closing process with this builder and although promised missing or incorrect items would be rectified after closing, they are not very attentive to assist after the sale is complete. Beware and ensure you are 100% satisfied with the product before you close.

Without exaggeration this was one of the worst purchase experiences of my lifetime. Let’s forget about the 2 plus years to complete our townhouse. Blame COVID but other builders finished houses in less than 2 years during COVID. The rush to close December 30th by Lennar management was unconscionable. Four separate rescheduled final walkthroughs because the property was not ready. One time because power not hooked up and the temporary power provided by the generator was cut off due to an inoperable generator, forget the fact that permanent power was not available for the first three scheduled walk throughs. Then I ask to delay the close and was denied that request. The home was dirty, the home was infested with ants then we get to quality of workmanship…nicks in most doors, unfinished elevator shaft, The quality of paint used is so low that when I said the paint rubbed off when I tried to clean a spot on a wall I was told that’s normal because it’s flat paint. So essentially anytime there’s a smudge on a wall I have to repaint? With what paint? Then we have the doors/trim that come an inch from meeting the floor with caulk sloppily jammed in there to disguise. This of course needs to be fixed but we live in this house now so it’s a massive inconvenience. If this project was properly managed how are the quality issues overlooked? It’s one thing to have the issues, it’s another to say we aren’t moving the closing date to address the countless issues. The construction managers and sales agent are very helpful.

What promised to be a beautiful home as proven to be a huge disappointment. All the interior workmanship from every trade is sloppy and unprofessional. We hope that all the parts that we can not see are installed properly by professionals. After a month, we continue to find problems. Instead of moving into a wonderful low maintenance new townhome, we have moved into a fixer upper. Construction manager and customer service are trying their best.

Builder (Chris) we had was very irresponsive through out the construction process . It just gets worse after the closing and during warranty period. They haven’t been able to keep up their commitments at different stages even for small changes and repairs. If you are a future buyer, do not close until ALL of your repairs are done 100%. Quality of material is a hit or miss. I would certainly expect better for the premium price they charge on these homes.

please make sure all the issues are taken care of before you guys closed on the house. we closed over a month ago and they still haven’t addressed any issue that was supposed to be taken care.

I wish if team were more proactive in providing updates before , during and after construction. I need to follow up on everything.
