Very Poor Customer Service, Communication, and Follow-up

At our initial meeting with our field manager (Andy S.) in August 2020, he assured us that he would provide weekly updates as our house was being built. We received "weekly" updates on 9/4, 9/18, and 12/18/2020. We would have to ask questions several times before receiving any response. We would often receive no response at all. When we would raise issues, Andy would often respond "I'll take care of it" but not follow-up and actually do anything. We ordered Pulte's kitchen appliance package and upgraded the cooktop from gas to electric. We had no appliances at all until about a week ...

I lived out-of-state for almost all of the building of my new home! However, I was informed, weekly, of the progress by the field manager! I knew that I would have a great home, based on the methods used by the Del Webb builders - and, Del Webb's reputation! I have what I expected - a great new home!

It was a good experience and the company met all the deadlines. The only challenge that I have had is that the electric company placed the electric line through the sewer line. The result was that the home flooded when I ran the dishwasher, washer and shower together. The company response was immediate and thorough. Currently in the repair process and pulte has paid for everything and promised to make my home exactly as it was when I moved in.

The whole process from selection of style, lot, add-ons to completion was stress free. There was a steady stream of communications and progress reports. We made the right decision to live and enjoy Britton Falls.

The overall construction and value is great. The detail work was a little disappointing as I've started seeing things. Tape adhesive remains across much of the vinyl. Some nail holes on door frames not filled. The paint job was terrible. As we painted, we found areas of the walls where there was no paint! Also pain spatters on the vinyl and window glass. Some poor drywall work, nothing super obvious. I've cleaned everything except the tape residue.

They tell you that this home is as close to a custom built home as you can get, what a joke that is. Walls were not square, which means drywall is not square, shotty workmanship, paint spray all over my floors and my appliances which I can’t get off, garage door has gaps around the seals, so we will be fighting keeping the snow out this winter, I requested some special orders on some items and they charged much much more than what I could have bought them myself, I could go on and on. Building a home while living out of state was not a good experience. We felt we weren’t kept apprised of things until we had to repeatedly ask about progress. Pulte was not responsive to any changes that could have been easily done during construction. Now that we’re in our home, we are having a difficult time getting some issues we’re having corrected.

I purchased a spec home and there were a few issues that were supposed to be fixed before closing. When I arrived the morning of closing they were not completed but I was told the would be completed asap. Since closing, I have had promises the issues will be fixed but they have not been completed at this time, 5 weeks after moving into my new home.

We have continually had issues with water in our owners suite closet in a Blue Rock home. First it was the no hot water. Second, water in the closet - still have a dehumidifier in my closet. We moved in April 21st. Thirdly toilet stopped up. Fourth rocks everywhere in the yard along with plastic bottles, wood, or whatever construction workers used was left in our yard and is still there. Of these issues, we have received a new water heater, Toilet makes weird noise when flushing and water in the closet coming from somewhere????? Rocks in the yard and wood and other objects in the yard ...

There are definitely things I would change in this house. For example, the shelves in the kitchen cabinets are too high and I am unable to move them without help (which I don't have). I will have to hire someone to do this for me. The linen closet is tiny and will not accommodate towels. But overall I really like this home.
