I just spent a month in this new home but I have experienced much trouble with a lot of things not working. The first thing I experienced the second day of packing in was the microwave got damaged. Air conditioning system was not properly designed for 2 of the rooms as it does not circulate air. Electrical faults and leakage at the kitchen sinks. Too bad.

Difficulty Transitioning into our Home

Our walk through took over two hours, almost a month later, we still have items from our walk through still being taken care of. Hopefully, this will be all finished by June 19th, we moved in on May 20th. It has taken countless emails and follow up emails and calls to get my home up to new house standard. We moved in with in accurate details on who hooked up the facilities. Were there close to two weeks before the internet was able to be installed, the subdivision was not ready for people to move in. House is great value, selling process and performance was terrible. Get everything in writing - flat lot? Sod? Time line. Everything needs to be in writing.

My yard was never graded correctly and it has caused my back yard CLOSEST to my patio to become a swamp. I was told that as long as the water wasn't standing after 24 hrs that it was fine. I can't even walk through my gate to my back yard a WEEK after it rains because it's still a mud hole. You can see with the naked eye that there are spots that would hold water because of the way it was graded. Like pools graded into my yard. I submitted a request for the repair almost a month ago and still have not had repairs done. They sent someone out, marked the areas, and never came back.

Salesperson lied or did not know services he said were included were in fact not. Floor plan was different from model with closets, only after saying something did they address and then we had light switches that went no where. Most importantly, look at the Management company they hire for the community. If you want simple things like gutters, fence or to screen a porch it could take months for approval. My experience with my builder Tristen was great. I must say he gave me his word to address any issues and please with his urgency to get things done. I can’t say the same for the sales agent. It has been one inconsistency after another. Forget about have visual communication about an exchange and he would deny it all. We were told by the sales agent that a temporary mailbox would be installed in the community and a mailbox key would be issued at closing. I feel like I was pushed into thinking all the issues at each walk through would be completed and any issues would be fixed asap. The only person who has been great so far and actually communicates is Doug my service manager. My electrician no showed for a outlet that is missing which is a code violation. Made me miss a work day using PTO even after confirming that morning! Everywhere you look you find something new that needs attention or fixing. Great response in the beginning. Then you give them a 10 as a rating and then it all disappears. Can not get a schedule for getting the fixes you identified and handed in. No follow up from anyone in the company. Poor craftmanship on just about everything. The supervisor I deal with does not care about the quality of work. He was ignoring everything even after mentioning many time. His own concern was to give him high rating.

customer service not helpful. they promise to get back to you but they never do. Very quick to use or say 'not under warrantly' as a safety blanket, without waiting to listen to what the concern are. My construction manager cody was the only good thing that happened during the buying process. The sod(grass) is no good at all and is not covered in the warrantly. I am just learning to adapt to the new home and having no help from customer service.

The quality of the home is very average. Lots of issues would have just required an extra few minutes when it was being constructed/installed. Overall construction is just somewhere between poor and average. Just disappointed.

This was the most frustrating and horrible home building/buying experience I have ever had. The construction was sub par. There were constant issues that needed correction. My husband was fixing an electrical issue within one week of closing/moving in that if had gone unnoticed could have started a fire. I will never buy from or recommend this company to anyone.

It isn’t a good time to have a house built right now. Hard to find skilled labor who cares about their product. Unskilled labor is getting the jobs moved forward at the homeowners expense. Doesn’t seem like anyone cares about their BRAND. Check out the Facebook posts of the neighborhood you are buying in—I may have gone with another builder if I had. If you can wait to build and let the frenzy pass, I would.

Haven’t had a ton of issues with the home yet other than some minor stuff. Never buy a centex home until all items are completed before close. I moved in late January and still have no yard other than mud. I understood that it would not be completed due to weather but was under the impression that those things would be completed in order. They do not move in order and currently houses that closed a couple weeks ago already have yards. On top of that they refuse to give answers on anything.

Marginal work and communication

I have crooked bricks in the exterior, missing quarter round, vinyl floor planks moving and oh the internet cable was not laid for the entire phase two group. I have been operating off hotspots and I telework. How does a critical work item not get executed during a project, it’s baffling. Who know when it will actually get done. During the sales, they were the ones who suggested a completion date that had a 2 months float. However, they completed the house 4 months after the date they provided. They did this just to get our initial deposit. Craftmanship is not the best, the light fixtures are as cheap as they come (in a $359K house we were expecting more). They backyard does not have the proper slope and grading so is always wet and cannot be used. I have been trying to have them fix this for 3 months now and all they do is give excuses. Once we got people from Centex that were higher up the chain our home the whole process improved. But overall it was not a very good experience. Example: the entire sewer system was left unattached to the main line. Had we not caught it w our home inspector it wouldve been left that way!!!!
